Vivere continues to be a Chicago landmark of contemporary Italian cuisine. Operated by the Capitanini family , Vivere has won numerous awards ranging from "Best New Restaurant" Esquire Magazine, DiRona Award , Wine Spectator and Ultimate Distinction by Wine Enthusiast. The Chef incorporates innovative dishes from his yearly travels to the various regions of Italy. A unique tasting menu in addition to the seasonal menu displays the skill and progressive nature of the restaurant. Vivere's swank design, conceptualized by acclaimed designer Jordan Mozer, applies contemporary twists to Baroque designs that are draped in plush velvets and warmed by rich gold tones. Interior Design Magazine has given Vivere its highest honor for restaurant design. Vivere's immense cellar, complete with 45,000 bottles, affords the guest with endless options with the assistance of its Wine Director. It was definitely enjoyable. How ever we were all vegetarians found a things to order. Being that there’s no protein (when we order without meat) the portion sizes were way too small, and yet still priced as if expensive cuts of meat were eaten. I’ve always wondered why more restaurants do not have a separate vegetarian menu that had portions /prices reflecting lack of meat. Overall, our service (thanks Cameron ) was the best! He was an attentive, knowledgeable and friendly & smiling individual.

Vivere is one of our favorite spots. The kitchen is outstanding. But its the way you are treated from the moment you arrive, through the meal, to departure, that sets it apart. The wine list may be one of the most expansive in town, put yourself in the hands of the staff, tell them your price point, and you will have a great experience.

Food was delicious and waiter was very accommodating and helpful. Prices were a little high, but it’s worth it for a special occasion.

The restaurant was beautiful inside, and the wine list was phenomenal . The food itself was good but not amazing. It sounded like their primary business is pre theater crowds.

We had tickets to Hamilton and wanted a restaurant close to the theater. I hadn't eaten here in many years so read the reviews beforehand. Most mentioned that while the staff were able to get theatergoers out in plenty of time, the food was cold.

I'm not a fan of food that is too hot for obvious reasons, but my pasta wasn't even what one might call lukewarm. I assumed restaurant management would have read previous reviews and corrected it after multiple complaints. Silly me!

So old world without being old. Service was impeccable. Our waiter knew we were going to the theatre and was very attentive to our timing. Food was amazing. Kudos to this restaurant.

Affordable compared to most high-end restaurants. The food was amazing and filling. Great service overall. I highly recommend if youre looking for somewhere nice and affordable.

A wonderful experience on New Year's Eve. Although the restaurant was completely full, we were treated as though we were the only people in the restaurant! Outstanding meal and wonderful attentive service. The Best! Highly recommended!
