Everything about Vivere is amazing. Food is perfect and the service is second to none. Would recommend to anyone!
The perfect place to go if you're going to see Hamilton. The service was amazing & our server even asked if we were seeing the show to make sure to let the kitchen know. Food was delicious and out quickly.
The restaurant was beautiful, the service perfect, and the food and wines, delicious. This was our first visit to Chicago, and won’t be our last!
This is the second of the three restaurants at the Italian Village that we have visited. Previously we had been to the original from the 1920's. Vivere is the upscale selection of restaurants there. The food here was excellent whereas we were a bit disappointment by the original. This place is definitely upscale. Service was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Not inexpensive but the quality and ambiance make it worth it for a special occasion.
Average food at best for a big $$. I didn't find the meals worth it. Minestrone soup was very bland with little to no flavour. Squid was lukewarm, and when the side items are more then the main focus you know it isnt right. Caprese salad was VERY salty with chunks of coarse ground sale galore. Only good part of the meal in my opinbion was the flan and beet salad. I will not hurry back
Very unique restaurant, 3levels, perfect for special occasion
We really enjoyed our dinner at Vivere. Our pastas were fresh and perfect. Service was outstanding.
I went to Vivere for a business lunch on a Thursday afternoon. It was the first time I was there. The food was among the best Italian food I have ever had anywhere in the world. Similarly, the prices and service were excellent.
The meal we had was just OK for the price. There are 3 levels to the Italian Village. We chose the wrong one!
We had a great time at Vivere! We celebrated my Father In Laws 80th Birthday Italian style! He loved it and staff were so kind to treat him like a king! Our waiter, Ryan, was top notch to our group. Thank you so much! The only reason for a 4/5 on this is we thought it was a little pricey for pasta but overall the experience was great!
Great! It was a fun experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Start to finish an exceptional experience. Very attentive wait staff, knowledgeable servers and a chocolate flourless cake for my wife's birthday.
Outstanding. I had never been here before and I will be back soon. I had the pheasant stuffed pasta and it was so good, I almost wanted to order another course of it.
We ate dinner at Vivere before attending a show and they were sensitive to our time. The service was perfect and the food was AMAZING. The lobster gnocchi was to die for!
Great food. The place is ready for a facelift.
The food was very good. Great flavors. Service was excellent and they were very accommodating knowing we were going to a show. I made a special request that we were celebrating a birthday and delivered a yummy dessert on the house. It was really nice!
Way overpriced for what it was. Very small portions. Will need to stop for additional food elsewhere.
This is an extraordinary restaurant that I somehow have missed in Chicago. The food is extraordinarily good from someone who has been to some of the best restaurants in Italy. I would go there 3 nights a week if practical!! The food was 99%ile, specially the pasta and the meats, including the lamb and the veal chop. The service was provided by one of the very best waiters I have ever had, his middle name was Joel, and I will request him in the future. Last, perhaps this was my error, but I ordered a Sicilian wine, and I have had some great ones, but the one's that we enjoyed were not the best. Nonetheless, they have a great wine list and I will move north from now on. You might not expect this restaurant to be so exceptional in the "Italian Village," but do not miss this Chicago restaurant!
Vivere has wonderful, creative Italian food. The pre theater package is a good value, altho the selections are limited. We had the ravioli, exquisite, and the gelato was fine. There is lots of garlic in the entrees and the salad. The booths provide a lot of noise dampening, altho the design inside is exaggerated and strange. I highly recommend this place.
Great menu& service in time for the theater! Loved the ambiance
Our waitress, Heather, was outstanding! She was very helpful in food suggestions as we were new to the restaurant. Had a problem with our appetizer, but a substitute was quickly sent & turned out to be the best! Would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
The food was wonderful, and the staff was as well. I appreciate the chef working with me on my dietary restrictions so I was able to order off of the pre fixie menu. We were out of there in time for our theater tickets, and have already decided we will be back!
The food is poor quality and WAY overpriced. Awesome ambience, but totally not worth it.
This place is absolutely wonderful. If you are wanting experience especially with wine this is the place to go.
First time here and it was a great experience. Our service and food were outstanding. We will be back!
The antipasti were good. The tagliatelle bolognese were cold and sauce lacked flavour!
Seeing Hamilton after the family, birthday dinner!
It was delicious! Great service! Great food! Nice, quiet atmosphere.
The food was excellent. Every course was done exceptionally. Our server was a little on the miserable side. He stated when we arrived that wasn’t happy cause it was slow that night. But food arrived timely and service was good. Only other complaint would be (and this was no fault of the restaurant) that there was a nearby table that was extremely obnoxious and vulgar. Had to listen to them all night talking about hookers, cocaine, and cursing every other word. Put a big damper on our date night. Otherwise, our meal was fantastic.
It was such a beautiful place to go to for a special occasion. Will definitely go again. The customer service was awesome. I have no complaints about this place.
The ambience and service are first class at this restaurant. Love the old school feel and the apps and desserts were very good. Unfortunately, 3 of us ordered the tagliatelle bolognese which was horrible. It was served looking as if someone scooped it out of a large pot with an ice cream scooper and plopped it in the middle of a plate. The noodles were extremely overcooked and to top it off it was served cold. The fourth person at our table loved her entree which was a seafood pasta dish. I still give it 3 stars and and recommend it but want to warn diners about this entree.
I have been going here for years. The food is great and the service is outstanding. Our server Dane knew we were coming and new what we always ask for the grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to make our Italian butter for the delicious bread. Dessert of a cannoli and creme brûlée was out of this world. Love this restaurant!
Made my birthday very special. Service was superb!
Dinner before the Opera—great location!
The food is always good at Vivere and the staff is wonderful. Very accommodating and helpful. We had a few different dietary restrictions going on with our group of dinners and the waitress was wonderful in suggesting different variations to meet and manage those restrictions.
First time back there since they changed chefs. The new homemade pasta dishes are crowd pleasers. The gnocchi appetizer is wonderful.
We went quite early on a weeknight, well ahead of the Theater crowd. Food and service were excellent (albeit a bit pricey).
Very good food, excellent service. Will be returning on my next trip.
We are at Vivere. There are 3 restaurants inside. Vivere is the more higher end. This place was fantastic. The food was incredible and the service was equally great. My wife has the Octopus for an appetizer and it was wonderful. Octopus is sometimes rubbery but not this. It tasted great and great texture. I had the seafood dish with scallops, shrimp and calamari. It was incredible. One of the best Italian dishes I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place. You can go wrong.
Our server Jacob was extremely knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. Our filled pasta was light, fluffy and delicious!
