Great food! Homemade pasta with morel mushrooms was anazing. Server was attentive without disrupting conversation. Would definitely go back.
Outstanding meal. Amazing server. Terrific wine recommendation. I can't believe I've not yet visited this wonderful restaurant. A sleeper hidden right there in the open.
Just as good today as it was 20 years ago when my wife & discovered it!
We had a great time at Vivere. Everything was perfect for my mom's 50th birthday. Thank you for the excellent service and delicious meal!
I wish I remembered our waiter name because he was excellent. He was very informative, knowledgeable with all the food and drinks.....very patient and he was never over-bearing or too much in our face or space. The food was excellent and the space was beautiful
Excellent food and variety of offerings. We did not realize there were three restaurants in one building but had wanted an upscale dining experience and Vivere did not disappoint.
We were one of the first customers there. There was a bit of delay to get us menus, so the host comped our wine and appetizers. Service and food was excellent.
It’s been around so long, Vivere doesn’t always come to mind as a place to go. Great food and service plus convenient for theater.
A Chicago tradition that combines excellent food, a colorful area, top notch service and memories. The bar is a well kept secret where Cameron works his magic in a quiet little nook. A most enjoyable evening and meal.
We had dinner reservations at 5:30p & we were running behind so I was happy when they were able to accommodate us for 6pm dinner. They were also very attentive & took good care of us. The rib eye was a very excellent choice. They also brought us their créeme brûlée as a 1 year anniversary treat. The service was also very quick & they had us out for our 7:30p Hamilton show. I’m sorry but I forgot the waitress name but she gave us excellent service. Thank you Vivere for a wonderful evening you gave us.
We were seated in the upper level all the way in the back, next to the server area... when there were plenty of booths on the lower level open. It was very dark and isolated. Service was okay. Risotto was okay but not the best; appetizer of gnocchi, however was probably the only highlight, and the creme brûlée for my granddaughter’s birthday surprise. Disappointing to say the least.
Second time visiting. Enjoyed as much this time as the first. Had dinner before seeing Hamilton. Salmon was excellent. Had gnocchi appetizer - fantastic!
Vivere remains one of my favorite Chicago restaurants. The homemade pasta is divine, wine selection and recommendations perfectly complement the food and their customer service is exemplary. They continue to treat me like a treasured friend and customer. Bravo!
Fabulous service. Outstanding food. A very memorable dining experience. We’ll be back (and back and back).
Good food near CIBC. Staff is knowledgeable about dinner menu items that can be prepared in time for you to attend your show. I will be back when I’m in Chicago again.
Service was very attentive and we loved the ambiance and the excellent wine selection. Quality food, decent portions, extra bread and a lovely Cream Brulee. We'd return!
Good food and good service.
Perfect pre-theater dinner. Great food and outstanding service.
The food has gotten better after a lull. The room is still fascinating. The staff welcoming and highly competent.
Food & service were amazing!
Amazing experience with impeccable service and food
Food was delectable. Ambiance was amazing. Servers and runners were extremely attentive. I loved every moment of my experience here.
Business meeting over a fantastic dinner. Highly recommended!
We decided to try this restaurant out for our anniversary dinner. On the website showed to be the best option for us of the 3. Service was extremely slow. 40 minutes after we ordered, my wife finally received her bowl of soup. (which was $7.50) Waitress failed to explain that it wasn't included as part of the meal. After we received our drinks, the waitress didn't ask again if we needed another until we finished our dinner. Food was bland and not very tasty for the price. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very disappointed. Thank you for ruining our 23rd anniversary.
Over the top decor, but very mediocre food. Our waiter was nice enough but pretentious in constantly emphasizing Italian words and pronunciations. It got to be silly.
Service and food were outstanding! We will definitely return!
We celebrated our 34th anniversary there and it was wonderful! The food was excellent and the celebratory tiramisu was a treat!
In a foodies city, this restaurant is not on the cutting edge, but wonderful for a 60’s experience, in an atmosphere that invites conversation. The use of natural woods in a classic almost Art Deco style, with tall ceilings, added elegance and peacefulness. The food was well prepared, the service and entire experience took us back in time. A solid four stars.
This restaurant had a great feel, once you walked in and it was so comfortable. The service and staff were great and we really enjoyed our meal. They gave us an extra dessert for our Anniversary, which was very nice. We will be back again.
We ate at Virere before going to see Hamilton. Food was Delicious and service excellent. Highly recommend. Location across the street from theatre😃
It was a superb dining experience, excellent food, attentive but not intrusive server; this restaurant clearly lived up to its other online reviews.
Beautiful eclectic room. Delicious menu from soup to the main course to the desert and also the cocktails. Service was excellent. Great experience!
Great theater menu and very professional staff
Limited menu but excellent flavors and very well prepared. The interior design is fanciful and worth eating there just for that alone. Service was very good.
Was not treated very respectful by the manager but the servers were awesome guests should not be going up and down stairs to find their seats
We decided on Vivere for dinner due to availability and close proximity after seeing the musical Hamilton. We were a little surprised at the "cozy" tables in this narrow restaurant, but it seemed fine.
Our waitstaff provided adequate service, but we never felt like they were going out of their way to be too attentive, and at times oblivious when at the table and not acknowledging an empty drink or asking if we needed a replacement.
The food was good and I would highly recommend the rib-eye and veal chop. You get a wonderful meal that will fill you for a reasonable price. I would not recommend the risotto, which was average and a small portion size.
We look forward to visiting the other restaurants within the Italian Villages in hopes to compare and make educated decisions for future dining experiences.
Absolutely outstanding. My new favorite place! Highly recommend. Menu options superb, as was the service.
So very happy I found this place in a Google search! Beautiful space and wine list. Outstanding service and food. I ate here with a friend before attending Hamilton at the CIDC Theatre. It was the perfect location. Highly, highly recommend!!
