I had an early reservation (4pm) for a Saturday night. Service from our waiter was only so-so. Looked to me like they had too few servers at 4pm. Maybe not surprising. By 6pm that situation was corrected, although our waiter continued to struggle.
The food was good and the surrounding were pleasant. I'd return but with a 6pm to 7pm dinner time.
We were six very good friends celebrating a special birthday. We were taken care of, the food was delicious, and the wine perfect. It was the best way to celebrate a birthday!!
Delicious from the bread to dessert, great service!
It was a nice time! Very good customer service and friendly staff.
Amazing as always!!!
David took great care of us on a quiet noontime lunch at Vivace. Great coffee, significantly enhanced by a glass of Harvey’s Bristol Creme Sherry, complimented the fish du jour for me, and the incomparably scrumptious Red Bird Chicken Breast, enjoyed by my guest (who always takes half of his generous portion home to his wife, who says that she doesn’t like “restaurant food!” but she’s willing to make an exception for Vivace.)
My wife requested the magnificent, Vivace signature, “Steak Scordato,” filet mignon with asparagus, which she reapportioned into two “fabulous!” lunchtime meals at home. “I had forgotten just how wonderfully Daniel’s chefs do DCT” [Dead Cow Tenderloin!]. “This is simply terrific, great beef!” she expostulated. GRRR! Great Restaurant Run Right, even amid the the KungFlu! We’ll be back!
Amazing food! The service was on point.
We were on the patio and it is the perfect location with a wonderful ambience! Always go toVivace for al special occasions. Never have been let down!
It was our first visit to a restaurant since COVID-19 began. We ate on the patio and felt very safe. I started with the spinach salad and it was one of the best I ever had. Then had the mussels special and it was delicious and huge; couldn’t eat the pasta it was served on as I was so full. Used the fabulous bread to soak up the sauce. Husband had the pork Parmesan and said it was so tender he could cut it with a fork. He thought the portion was overly generous and loved the vegetable pasta it was served with. We were both extremely happy with our experience. We will definitely return & highly recommend.
Outside on beautiful patio feeling very safe eating at a restaurant. Food wonderful as usual. Can’t say enough good things about our experience
We dine at Vivace for special occasions...we had lunch for a birthday celebration. Food was excellent. It is fun to have a cake/candle for our celebration. Thank you!
Excellent and incredibly consistent food, staff and ambience.
A classic Italian presentation with a wonderful production of “end product “! Several dishes are on the creative side that beat any standard comparison: the escargot and artichoke appetizer is the most remarkable combination and flavors I have had compared to the standard escargot. My only issue was I was almost full after the pre meal bread and fresh pesto!
The evening special of branzino filet was fabulous but I must also complement the chicken meatballs with capellini pasta I ordered to have for lunch h the next day: wow.
And finally the desserts should just be a separate meal
Full attention to detail as always.
Amazing food, great staff!
Always great! A favorite!
Lunch honoring an employee for 34 years of service on his retirement
Vivace came recommended to us by our Airbnb host, and the restaurant was within walking distance of our place! So we made a reservation for outside on a Thursday evening. The service, food, and ambiance was excellent. We got the chicken meatballs and the vegan bolognese. The flavors of both were spot on. The bread with pesto served prior to the meal was also very satisfying. The only thing that could’ve made it better would be if the patio had heaters for those chillier Tucson nights. Otherwise, it was a perfect experience and we will be back the next time we are in town!
Excellent, as usual. Daniel Scordato is an excellent host and restauranteur.
Felix excellent waiter
The atmosphere in the restaurant was fine and the server was very pleasant, competent, and eager to please. The wine was quite good. The food, however, was average at best, really nothing special. We were quite disappointed and do not plan to return.
We had a charming lunch on a moderately busy Veterans Day at Vivace. Steve kept the coffee flowing and helped provision of take-out meals for our ladies waiting anxiously at home for fabulous, Scordato-inspired food from “Tucson’s Finest Restaurant!” We each look forward to three to five, mid-week lunches at Vivace, every month. This is a truly fine restaurant, keeping up the charming ambiance & excellent meal quality despite the KungFlu! We’ll be back!
Excellent food and service
Halibut over cooked and Manicotti was soggy. Stuffed pork chop was awesome. Server was uninspired.
This was the former Anthony's of Tucson. It was very nice and the food was great. They brought the pricing down from the former, but not the quality. I would go back there again when I am in town.
Food and service was wonderful. Highly recommend Vivace.
There is no substitute for excellence in the kitchen. Vivace has it. That is why I am always on the lookout for guests to bring. This time, as often, my guest was my wife. She is Sicilian and a very good cook. She is also a complainer. She never complains at Vivace.
The stuffed mushrooms were a huge disappointment. They were overcooked, mushy and tasteless. COVID allows for some changes, just one paper menu, no table decoration - but I had hoped Vivace still served quality food. Service seemed a little off.
Great restaurant for a special occasion or romantic evening!
Food was wonderful, wait staff is amazing and very friendly!
This is the restaurant to go whenever you are lookin for a great meal, wonderful wines and exceptional service
It was perfect. The food was amazing, and why I keep coming back. Server was great, lots of personality. I was expecting the bill to be higher, but great value.
We love to dine at Vivace. It's one pf our favorite restaurants. The food and service are always superb!!
The food, service & surroundings fabulous as always.
Food, service and ambiance all first rate. An iconic Tucson restaurant.
Very lovely luncheon outside! Service was good and food delicious!
We had heard about Vivace from a friend. The view of Tucson from up on the hill is really nice. The service was excellent and timely (not rushed and there to make sure we were happy). The food was outstanding. I know good Italian (I'm 1/2 Italian) and this is really good Italian. We were there on a Wednesday evening and they were full and for good reason. I highly recommend the restaurant but make a reservation!
Our second time here, and the food and service was fantastic!
Lunch on the Patio was perfect. Food was very good, drink was very good, service was very good and the Patio was the perfect setting for a COVID lunch. The one negative was the Tiramisu dessert - it was definitely very sub-par. All cream, no Lady Fingers, very little flavor!
Excellent as usual! The Red Bird Chicken was outstanding. The Ora King Salmon with shrimp, simply a true delight. Vivace continues to provide wonderful meals and great service. Our thanks to Chef/Owner, Daniel Scordato, who greeted us & escorted me to and, later from the table. This is clearly a Great Restaurant Run Right! We’ll be back!
