We splurged. We both requested the magnificent “ham & cheese” sandwich. It’s so huge that we each took half of it home to enjoy later. Once again, a marvelous meal at Vivace, enjoyed by two of us regular patrons, who were able to bring home snacks for our wives. David kept us supplied with clearly superior hot coffee and provided great take-out upon our departure. The friendly, accommodating staff, fine meals, and reasonable prices continue to contribute to making Vivace the best restaurant in Tucson.
Owner, Daniel Scordato’s attention to detail and remarkable selection and retention of staff within a charming ambiance at a great hillside location with lovely views, make this restaurant truly superior.
You bet we’ll be back. Thank you.
Very enjoyable,as usual.
Vivace is very special. The food was outstanding, and our server, Stewart, made our evening very special. We have been traveling to Tucson for 25 years, and eat at Vivace each visit. Somehow, it keeps getting better.
Took daughter for her birthday. She was disappointed that the eggplant with linguini pasta was off the menu.
Loved it!!! Thanks for making it special for our anniversary
My wife and I were pleased to treat a great, long-time friend to a superb meal at Vivace. Greeted and seated immediately, we enjoyed bread and pesto while anticipating the arrival of veal and mushrooms in Marsala sauce, which we have come to regard as the restaurant’s finest among many fine offerings on the menu. Wow! Simply exquisite! It’s our favorite choice for celebrating special occasions. We’ll be back!
We were there on a weeknight and it was surprisingly busy for the staff and for us. The result was that service was at times slow. However, without any prompting from us, our server brought three complementary appetizers to the table and comped our three desserts as well. All good signs of staff and a business that take customer service seriously.
My favorite restaurant for special occasions. Management is most accommodating to our special needs. Much appreciated.
Very nice restaurant. Great ambience. The food was excellent for both my wife and I & a free dessert for our anniversary. Will be back again.
Excellent food—the 1st course soufflé was amazing—-could have eaten this by myself for an entree—instead I shared with our table of 4. Grateful that I did because I had room for the entree—chicken and asparagus risotto—another delicious dish—I could probably shared the entire dinner, had a Caesar salad, as well, with my husband and would have been very satisfied. We ended up taking home a doggie bag and had dinner the next night as well.
It was a wonderful experience as always!
We've always enjoyed our dining experience at Vivace. On this occasion, we were celebrating our anniversary and had a lovely table by the window. The energy level tends to be high, which is expected. On this evening, the table behind us was not only high energy, but were also vulgar at times and obnoxious. The waiter and one of the group asked that they lower their volume, but unfortunately to no avail. We made the best of it with a lovely view, good wine and meal. Happy Anniversary!
Great food and wonderful staff!
We love this restaurant and always have a good time!
Great food and service. We felt a bit underdressed upon arrival. For out of town guests, suggested attire on the website may be helpful.
A wonderful experience - from the owner to the attendant at the door, people make the difference. The food is tasty, well presented, and the service is great. Ask for Felix, 25 years at Vivace's - if you care to change up your favorite dish, just ask and they'll do everything they can to be accommodating - at no additional fee. You'll love this experience.
Not my first visit... No where near my last... Fabulous on all levels...
Once again, Vivace doesn't disappoint. I can't decide which elements of this fabulous restaurant that I appreciate more. The ambiance is a tapestry of the beautiful Foothills, combined with the eclectic decor and artwork that is indigenous to beautiful Tucson. This, all before even discussing the food!! The food is truly a taste explosion for the most discerning of palates. We began our meal with the Antipasto (for two), which clearly serves at least 4 adults, if not more. This dish was a perfect beginning to a perfect meal. Don't skip the sauteed spinach on this plate, as well as the herb goat cheese mousse. You will be sorry! I ordered the Crab filled Breaded Chicken Breast with demi glace cream sauce and vegetable rice. The chicken was fork-tender (no need for a knife), and cooked to perfection. The Crab filling was extremely tender and flavorful. The vegetable rice was rich and creamy. It was perfect!! There wasn't one bite left on my plate! The wine list is extensive, but not too cumbersome for someone with limited knowledge. Vivace will continue to be my go-to restaurant in Tucson.....every time! Thank you for another lovely experience.
Great food and service
Without a doubt, Vivace is still the best restaurant in Tucson. The consistent excellence of long time favorite dishes and the delights of superb new items is unequaled. Bravo Daniel and your wonderful staff.
Great service and excellent meals.
We celebrated two birthdays; mine and my husband's. Everything was perfect. Loved the bread pudding. I
The restaurant is at a great location with plentiful parkings.
The food is on the greasy side - too rich to our palate..
Two of us ordered the daily market fish, mine was a very thin piece and over done, swimming in the sauce, my friend thought the same as well. The server was very quick to respond, and reported to the chef, who immediately replaced the dishes with the new fish, and they were much better.
We had a nice table by the window, but the noise level is quite high, not easy to have a good conversation.
However, we do appreciate the excellent service, thank you!
Simply wonderful! The best place to go in Tucson, hands down!
GRRR! (Great Restaurant Run Right!)
Thank you for another fine meal in such elegant surroundings. We were welcomed and served by your truly excellent staff. When possible, we dine at Vivace every Wednesday afternoon. This afternoon, we had appointments to make following lunch. David, who knows us well, sensed our time constraints and was cheerfully helpful as always. Our sincere thanks goes to all who greet, serve and help. We’ll be back for more: marvelous meals, great service, and lovely surroundings.
Went for a celebration dinner and were treated very well by all concerned. Kamran was outstanding. The food was excellent from salad to dessert. Will be back next time we visit the desert.
My husband and I celebrated out anniversary at Vivace, and we were so glad we did. The food was excellent (love the variety and flavors of the antipasto appetizer!), our server was personable and efficient, and the views were terrific.
Vivace is predictably of high quality in all categories. I almost always get the ciaoppini, which is probably the best in Tucson. The view at the windows is truly stunning.
The food is always good. We had a business meeting and were able to talk without interruption.
We were still working on our appetizer when dinner arrived. Asked for a glass of wine then, and we were halfway through with dinner before we received it (and that's after we finished our appetizer). Made a note on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Not even a candle in the desert. If you like convention sized restaurants, you might like it. The place is huge! And noisy. Nice views though.
This was the first time we were seated on the patio. It was a warm, lovely evening - perfect for the patio. Our table was a bit “tippy” but was remedied quickly. Service was good, food excellent, as usual. My only criticism was that I didn’t taste as much seafood in the Lasagnette (my favorite entree) but it was still delicious.
Everything about Vivaces is top of the line. From Randy, the valet out front, to Felix or his brother David, servers inside, to the excellent food which we enjoy so much. Danny, the owner, is on top of everything. Great place.
Jackie is one of our favorite servers anywhere.
My Moms Birthday... was wonderful
Great restaurant! We always enjoy meals at Vivace. The staff is engaging, friendly and kind. The food is marvelous, the setting is delightful, with Mountain View’s and attractive planting. When available, the sliced filet mignon on toast in Marsala sauce is superb. The penne with sausage & melted cheese, is a hearty meal frequently enjoyed by my luncheon companion, who always takes some home for his wife. The thin sliced ham and fontina cheese with tomato sandwich is uniquely excellent —- far more than ordinary ham & cheese on toast! Do try it if you are particularly hungry. It’s well worth the trip up the hill on Campbell Avenue to Vivace’s elegant mountain setting.
Cheerful as ever, David kept us supplied with great coffee and provided for leftovers as well as take out desserts. We’ll be back!
Excellent as usual. I always enjoy the fish and the veggie rice is addictive.
My wife and I love enjoying dinner at Vivace when we visit Tucson. This was our fifth time experiencing the wonderful food and affordable wine at Vivace. We shared a pear & Walnut salad and each had the salmon linguine. Both were delightful. We shared a bottle of Jame Tobin 2013 Zinfandel which was excellent. Looking forward to our next Vivace dining experience in late July.
Lovely to dine there on a Monday for lunch when it is not so busy. The fine staff is so experienced and it is fun to see them time after time. Thank you!
Service was choppy and sloppy. 14.94 for three stuffed mushrooms not worth it . Entrees were mediocre at best.
Fantastic food and service. Not your average Italian food— much better balanced and prepared.
Had a dinner for 9 of us here recently. A group of sophisticated diners from Chicago and New York, here for a Board Meeting. They all loved Vivace! The food and service was wonderful!
Tonight my wife and I returned with another couple for another outstanding experience!
This place is at the pinnacle of Tucson dining!
