Vivace Ratings and Reviews
The food was amazing, but because it was valentines day there was a special menu which had good choices. We had the whole 4 course meal and luck we did because with the portion of each course picking one individually would have left us both still hungry. All in all we still has an amazing night.
Returned to Vivace on a Wednesday night after their recent renovation ( after an unplanned pipe burst) however I think Vivace might be loosing the plot that had placed this vibrant restaurant in a best of class category. Food here as always was spot on but the place seems to have become noisier and clearly other than the excellent reception staff, the wait staff seem to be in a chaotic dance . I am hoping it was just our waiter and one close by but its an are the management might take a look at.
One evening of dumb service should not be an indictment but it is an alarm bell I hope Vivace pays attention to as this is normally a very reliable sophisticated eatery.
Service wasn’t great- waitress was not personable and strictly to the point.. which is fine but she had a slight attitude. Kind of disappointed since this was our first time here. It was also my birthday and it was a let down- waitress didn’t even ask what we were dining for like most establishments.
Only issue was that some tables in the main part of the restaurant (two-toppers on the left as you walk in) and the sofa area in the bar were very brightly lit. The overall ambient lighting levels were fine though. The sofa area should be a cozy, relaxing place but the way it was lit we thought surgery could be done there. Other restaurants have the same problem when they use recessed spot lights and then not dimming them properly.
Vivace has been one of our favorites for years. They provide consistently excellent cuisine, and their service is always first rate. A visiting family member from out of town was making her first visit to Vivace on this occasion, and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I like this place, but when we were there I had the scallops risotto (have ordered that before and loved it) and the scallops tasted off. The risotto was good. My friend had the fusilli and it was so garlicky that you couldn’t actually taste anything else in the dish. Our appetizers were great - calamari was a little too salty. Great Caesar salad.
Service was good.
The food was fabulous as usual, however the service was not up to par. Once seated we did not see anyone forclose to 10 mins, when a hostess came over and asked if we’d seen anyone. She asked us about our drink order when the server finally came by. The server was not very attentive for the entire evening! Everyone else was great.
I noted on the reservation that it was our 41st wedding anniversary and in the past we were greeted when we arrived and given complimentary wine or dessert. This time nothing! We were surprised based upon previous experiences.
Still a great place.
This was the first time we've eaten at Vivace and we were very happy with the entire experience. Our server was exceptional, with quality and knowledgeable recommendations. Food was excellent and served in a very timely manner. Will definitely keep on my list for date night.
Our party of six was celebrating a military family member being here on leave. We made reservations, and our table was beautifully prepared. Service was excellent! Our waitress kept our glasses full and checked on us frequently. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was excellent. The young people in the group ordered pizza which they said was excellent; light, thin, crispy crust with fresh toppings. The grilled salmon was uniquely prepared. It was cooked with
salt cod and potato brandade, Calabrian chili, preserved lemon, and brown butter. It was delectable! The restaurant is tucked away in the corner near Quail Ridge Book Store. Find it! I will definitely return. Great location with easy parking.
I went to Vivace for the first time. It was the business lunch. The waitress was not very polite, and she never checked on us to see if anything was needed. I wanted to have some more coffee, but she was not to be found.
They gave my husband wrong entree, so he had to wait while 3 of us were eating. He walked toward the kitchen area wanting to keep the wrong plate they served him, but they ignored him. We never received any apology for mess up of the order.
Wait service was very poor. Had to speak to hostess about it.
Lunch was to be a birthday celebration. No dessert with candle was served as I was told it would be. In fact no dessert was offered by the waiter either by menu or oral availability. We were given our checks and left.
I had been wanting to try this place, but my husband hasn't wanted to drive from SW Cary, so I finally got the opportunity to go with a friend. The hostess staff was welcoming and friendly. Our service was very good, although the waiter didn't send out the friendliest vibe. I was facing the booth side of our table and couldn't help noticing a lot of white lint on the brownish fabric that covered the booth. It was very distracting--it looked like bad housekeeping. My friend and I both got the spaghetti with meatballs, and tiramisu for dessert. I thought the meatballs were very salty, but the spaghetti and marinara sauce were very good. The tiramisu was outstanding. I wish I had tried something else, because I felt a bit underwhelmed. I'd go again to try something else, if I were at North Hills, but I wouldn't try to convince my husband that we should make the drive.
