Vivace Ratings and Reviews
This was the first time we've eaten at Vivace and we were very happy with the entire experience. Our server was exceptional, with quality and knowledgeable recommendations. Food was excellent and served in a very timely manner. Will definitely keep on my list for date night.
Our party of six was celebrating a military family member being here on leave. We made reservations, and our table was beautifully prepared. Service was excellent! Our waitress kept our glasses full and checked on us frequently. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was excellent. The young people in the group ordered pizza which they said was excellent; light, thin, crispy crust with fresh toppings. The grilled salmon was uniquely prepared. It was cooked with
salt cod and potato brandade, Calabrian chili, preserved lemon, and brown butter. It was delectable! The restaurant is tucked away in the corner near Quail Ridge Book Store. Find it! I will definitely return. Great location with easy parking.
I went to Vivace for the first time. It was the business lunch. The waitress was not very polite, and she never checked on us to see if anything was needed. I wanted to have some more coffee, but she was not to be found.
They gave my husband wrong entree, so he had to wait while 3 of us were eating. He walked toward the kitchen area wanting to keep the wrong plate they served him, but they ignored him. We never received any apology for mess up of the order.
Wait service was very poor. Had to speak to hostess about it.
Lunch was to be a birthday celebration. No dessert with candle was served as I was told it would be. In fact no dessert was offered by the waiter either by menu or oral availability. We were given our checks and left.
I had been wanting to try this place, but my husband hasn't wanted to drive from SW Cary, so I finally got the opportunity to go with a friend. The hostess staff was welcoming and friendly. Our service was very good, although the waiter didn't send out the friendliest vibe. I was facing the booth side of our table and couldn't help noticing a lot of white lint on the brownish fabric that covered the booth. It was very distracting--it looked like bad housekeeping. My friend and I both got the spaghetti with meatballs, and tiramisu for dessert. I thought the meatballs were very salty, but the spaghetti and marinara sauce were very good. The tiramisu was outstanding. I wish I had tried something else, because I felt a bit underwhelmed. I'd go again to try something else, if I were at North Hills, but I wouldn't try to convince my husband that we should make the drive.
We celebrated a birthday and Vivace was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Service exceptional, great drink options (beer, cocktails, and wine), and every item ordered was delicious. We will defiantly return and we will not be waiting to celebrate a special occasion next time!!
Vivace has a casual elegance appearing upscale, but comfortable at the same time. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and able to offer dinner suggestions and wine pairings for those less familiar with Italian wines. The lobster ravioli and veal saltimbocca are both excellent as is the desert list, which changes regularly. If the Chocolate Peanut Butter Bombe is available, I highly recommend it. It is one of the better overall dining experiences in Raleigh.
The food was good but the service was not. My wife and I went for anniversary. We sat for 20mins before we were asked for our drink order. Our original waiter told us he had a button malfunction so he could not take our order but we observed he continued to work others tables for the remainder of the night. Kind of strange...
We had a great experience at Vivace. Our server was attentive with a great personality and had great recommendations. We had the brussel sprouts to start, I had the caprese with shrimp for dinner while my hubs had the scallop risotto - all were spectacular. Definitely recommend vivace if you want good Italian food!!
Love Vivace every time I go. Mostly because the pappardelle Bolognese is so delicious! Homemade pasta with a perfect bite and melt in your mouth sauce make this my go to dish. Also had delicious carpaccio and Brussels sprouts for the perfect meal. Sommalier suggested a great wine. Sat outside on the patio for a dining experience that felt like I was back in Italy!
This is one of the best outdoor dining spots in North Raleigh, and the service is always good. I find the food to be consistent and the wine list to be extensive, and well laid out. I have never walked out being blown away by the food. I enjoy the appetizers and atmosphere more than main courses.
Last week my wife and I each had an entree, shared a salad, and 1 glass of wine each, our bill came to $100 (without tip). My opinions is if you are going to drop $100 for a dinner, there are a lot of other options in Raleigh now that offer a better value .
Restaurant was super hot inside! It was a 90 degree day/week and the thermostat was set to 76 degrees! We know because we sat right beneath the thermostat! Complained twice, waitress was REALLY nice and tried to accommodate our request (also the request of other tables). It seemed very clear that "messing with the thermostat" by anyone other than management was not allowed....management never came over to adjust :(
Outdoor dining was like sitting in an Italian Piazza. The wait staff was excellent. My water glass never got empty. The veggies were cooked al dente and were delicious. A separate pescetarian menu was provided in addition to the traditional menu. The food and wine were delicious.
