Our exceptional dining experience started with incredible service from Erica. She walked us through the wine list and menu; her recommendations were spot on, especially the filet and lobster risotto. We finished our meal with some creativity wonderful sorbets.
The cocktails, salads, appetizers, pastas, and entrees were generally excellent. Desert was fair. For us, as with many other fine dining venues, the entrees were too rich. The flavors were excellent, but the dishes were very heavy on the oil or butter. It was a small disappointment on an otherwise delightful and delicious meal.
The service was excellent and the room and setting were very nice. You definitely feel like you're somewhere special.
Desert was fair.
We would certainly go back again and recommend it to friends.
Valentines evening... Wonderful experience.
Outstanding experience, dinner was excellent and service was one of the I have had the pleasure to enjoy.
Food was delicious and the service was amazing. This is a dining experience, not just dinner. Thank you to Jerimiah for taking such good care of us.
Real fine dining in North County! Excellent, creative cuisine with impeccable service!
We had dinner to celebrate my girlfriend Meredith’s birthday. Our server, Erica was phenomenal.
Every course was superb. Waiter was slightly inattentive, even though restaurant was not busy
AMAZING!! From food , friends, service, ambiance, wine... it’s a winner!!
Mixup on our order was made up for with a complimentary cocktail. Aside from that, it was a very enjoyable evening.
The moment you walk into the hotel it is a winter wonderland.
I’ve never seen so many decorations in one hotel.
The restaurant was great the food was excellent.
The only hiccup was when we made the reservations they said they could only take six and not seven people.
We called a few days later, wish we would’ve gotten her name but she changed our reservation to accommodate seven people.
Our reservations were for 7:15 PM. The restaurant was only half full.
By the time we had our meal the restaurant was pretty empty. Why do they make it so hard to get tables for big parties.
All in all it was a great experience would recommend going just to see everything and try some food.
It was a delicious meal, but felt a bit rushed by our waiter. There were only 4-7 couples in the whole restaurant but they rushed our food out and then tried to clear the table too quickly. We just felt rushed, but other than that it was nice.
Food was amazing, service was great. One of my top favorites!
Place needs a good renovation.
Celebrated my birthday here with the 3 course tasting menu. My husband and I had an incredible time and our server Adan was extremely helpful and accommodating. He made it quite a special night for us with his service.
Marshall is the best! His wine knowledge is off the charts. I’m
To be honest unless I was staying at the hotel I wouldn't bother. The prices were high and the food quality was just OK. Service was nice but apart from that there was nothing memorable about our visit.
Ambitiously constructed dishes that delivered all the flavors they promised. Vivace surpassed my expectations and deserves to be ranked among the best restaurants around. The ambience is nice and the food is amazing. Our server, Marshall, was a consumate professional that gave us spot-on recommendations and guided our wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.
We come back to Vivace every time we come to Carlsbad. Great food! Good price.
Overpriced. The value, quality, tastiness and all of the ingredients that go into a making a delicious meal were sorely lacking. We had dined at the other Hyatt resort restaurant Argyle the night before and it was superb with also expensive meals but worth it because it was delicious.
The food was excellent, the selection is good, the site is outstanding, and the service was very good. Our server was very experienced and was very well informed and able to describe the various aspects of the selections and their preparations. Plus, the service was pleasant.
Fabulous food . Every dish was amazing. We were 5 people and ordered multiple courses. Service was also great. We were all talking about our next visit.
Intimate setting for a small dinner with friends and/or a significant other. Excellent service and food presentation
My husband and I came here for our anniversary, and I can tell you I was NOT expecting the amazing service we received! I have never been to a restaurant where I felt so spoiled! Absolutely amazing and polite service. Our waitress never made us feel rushed, and they even brought out a nice little plate of chocolate and berries with “Happy Anniversary” written on it. Such a nice touch. Very quiet and romantic ambience, and we checked in early at 7pm for a 7:30 reservation but were seated immediately. I will note this restaurant is in the Park Hyatt Aviara resort, so if you’re not staying here maybe you’ll feel a bit lost..? Overall I’d say this restaurant is a wonderful experience, and PERFECT for any special occasion! We highly recommend this restaurant, the selections and options are amazing, and well worth the splurge!
Awesome food, amazing service. This is by far the best fine dining experience in North San Diego.
Viv Ace has always been one of my favorites. 2 nights ago, it was just off. There may be a new chef, but it’s not the vivace I remember in the last few years...
Service and food was fantastic! Will definitely be back. All courses were amazing
We picked Vivace based on local knowledge and the fact that we had not been to this particular property. We noted with the hostess that this was a "date night" dinner for us, but we were somewhat surprised when we were seated in the main dining area, where there was a large party with several children contributing to the rather high level of noise. It turned out that there were other loud parties in the side rooms, so there was no reason to ask for a change in seating. Overall, the service was very good; the waitperson was well versed in making suggestions from the wine list and giving us suggestions as to the better selections from the menu. I did enjoy the separation and selections on the tasting menus where we had the choice of an appetizer, pasta or entree and dessert or cheese plate or appetizer, pasta and entree and dessert. Our dishes were very well prepared and very tasty. When the ambient noise finally quieted down, it was a very enjoyable rest of the evening.
This was our second visit to Vivace after hosting a meal for my work and it's good. The food was rich and served timely. We had the sampler meals where we tried several of the items on the menu with smaller portions. Again all good. Only issue with the restaurant was the ambiance. For a $250+ meal for two on our anniversary (stated in my reservation & a hotel guest) would have liked not to sit next to the active kitchen entrance & overflow tables. In hindsight I wish I had said something while being seated as there where open tables as it ended up being a constant distraction.
The outstanding service was topped by excellent food and a diverse and notable wine list. Great date night spot!
My partner turned 40 yrs and the service was OUTSTANDING!!! The food was delicious!!! And the view was incredible! I expected to pay more for the quality of food and service. Yet it relatively inexpensive for the amount of food and 5 Star service. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
We had dined the previous night at another Aviara Resort & Hotel restaurant (Carlsbad, Calif.) and was not pleased. Management picked up on this and added to the always exceptional service, food and waiter/ sommelier Marshall's superb service. A must for fine dining in the area!
We ate on the deck watching the sunset. Beautiful. Every course was special. The St Danielle prosciutto with burrata and peaches was excellent. If you are a fan of octopus, try this wood grilled version with giant beans and wilted greens. The tartar is filled with mustard seeds, capers, and accompanied with pickled vegetables. We barely had room for our pastas, but the short rib Bolognese and squid ink pasta with frutti di Mare were very good. Good wine list. Nice desserts. Excellent service. Highly recommended
We haven't been to this restaurant for a while and were so pleased to find that it's as good if not better than we remembered. The food was excellent, and especially for the prices...this isn't an inexpensive meal but the quality and portions are worth the price. But the truly memorable aspect of our evening was the service. Marshall was our waiter and he was excellent in all ways. Great recommendations for both food and wine. We plan to go back again in the near future and highly recommend it to anyone!
Excellent service. The waiter was wanderful and the food deliceous. Thank you “Vivace”.
We had a very nice time
We have stayed at the Park Hyatt Aviara each summer for the past four years. We finally decided to try Vivace and was not disappointed. The food and service were outstanding. The tasting menu offered a nice assortment of choices with adequate portions. We will definitely make it a priority on our next visit.
The Octopus appetizer and their Tiramisu version were the highlights but neither my wife (whose birthday we were celebrating) nor I were very impressed with our main courses (halibut and pappardelle respectively). Regardless, excellent location and ambiance along with the fantastic service helped us overlook the otherwise "OK" main dishes.
It was a beautiful evening to sit out on the patio at Vivace - there was a wedding reception below finishing up as we began our meal, but the happiness of the event didn't derail our enjoyment of the terrace. Food was delicious - I would characterize their menu as gourmet.
