Big parties some confusion about the server, but in the end, the food made up for it. A favorite place.
The waitress had difficulty hearing our orders but she was really kind. The food was outstanding
The entire experience was sub par at best. We walked in and stood awkwardly at the host stand for a while with no one coming by to check in or greet anyone with a handful of other seemingly lost people. Our server was a little too sarcastic for comfort considering we were trying to have a nice meal with our mother. The server was also hardly seen, especially disappointing as it was not very busy at all. There was someone else that started helping us, and then they were picked on for being helpful by our actual server. The food wasn’t stellar either. Considering that it kept being reiterated that everything was fresh and made in house, it seemed more like we were paying an exponentially high rate for reheated chef boyardee. Will probably not be coming back anytime in the near future.
Food only fair, waitress ver good, hostess staff terrible-kept my handicapped wife standing and unseated when restaurant was basically empty
Busy Mother's Day brunch was a bit loud but the service was fantastic as was the food.
This place was awesome. Great environment, good staff, unbelievable food, we had a great experience.
Lovely evening in nice setting, we sat upstairs with view of uptown. Good food. Good cocktails. Thank you Vivace! Well be back. We love the patio, but will enjoy that one evening when it’s not 93 degrees!
Both times we have went here we have had good food and good service.
Perfect night always helps! Outside seating was terrific. Server suggested appropriately and was accommodating with requests for slight changes.
Enjoyed every aspect of our dinner.
Spicy Bloody Marys were awesome. We were seated upstairs where the noise level is a bit better. Lovely brunch to gather with girlfriends.
Let me start by saying the food at Vivace is always excellent. We started going to the Vivace in Raleigh years ago and were thrilled when they opened in Charlotte. Over the years we have begun to limit our patronage to lunch and last night’s dinner was a prime example of why. The noise level, despite the restaurant being only have full was so great I could not hear the person sitting next to me. When you have to shout or read lips while trying to have dinner conversation it’s time to find a new favorite. It’s a shame but Vivace is off our list.
Exceptionally good Italian food. Tomato Bisque was served at the just right temperature and very tasty. Ravioli was mouth watering with the marinara sauce. The vegan spaghetti made with beans was excellent. The espresso coffee ( a real measure of good Italian eatery) was top notch. The desserts hit the spot. The staff was very friendly and prompt. Al in all an excellent meal.
We have had several fabulous meals in the past, but while transitioning to a new chef, they seemed to have dropped the ball. They were out of several things we ordered off the wine and appertivo list. My veal saltimbocca was a fusion of veal marsala and saltimbocca-picture veal marsala with a slice of prosciutto. My husband's pasta sauce was super sweet, which was unexpected since it was described as a spicy dish. The wait staff was very hospitable and the ambience is very comfortable.
Went for Saturday brunch and got the “Vivace Way” deal. It was great value, the food and the view were excellent!
The mussels were fantastic! Our server was perfect in her recommendations.
My family and I were here to celebrate my birthday.
Great food, as usual.
I was surprised at the slow service, perhaps there weren’t enough servers scheduled. Our server had tables inside and outside and was running back and forth as best as they could. But, it did effect our experience. We were there for 2 1/2 hours, which seems like a long time for a not very busy Wednesday evening.
The air conditioning was way too cold, we even requested an adjustment but it remained cold inside the entire time. We all felt uncomfortable and it made our food get cold quickly.
I was also disappointed in the cocktail menu. I sent a drink back because it was not good. Well, I actually brought the drink to the bar myself because our server was nowhere to be found for quite some time.
I like Vivace, but the experience was unimpressive. I hope that if I decide to return, things will have improved.
We always love coming to Vivace- the food is always wonderful and the service is always attentive and friendly. It's even my 10 year old son's favorite restaurant!
Chad was personable and definitely enhanced the overall experience
First, I want to start by saying that we started the night with a big disappointment. We made a reservation but when we arrived we were told that there were no tables available and our only option was a bar table. I’m not really sure why we didn’t have a table, but we ended up picking a bar table. With that being said, I’m glad we did. Our server was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly. Loved her. She helped pick a great wine! Food was excellent as well! Outside of the hosting issue, we were very pleased.
Food was just ok and service wasn’t very good
Delicious and special
Came for dinner, opted for apps because they sounded great. Brussel sprouts were saturated with sugar/syrup, and the bruschetta was just two pieces of bread with overly chilled vegetables, also over-dressed with honey/syrup. Wine was delish!
We chose Vivace since it was close to Theatre Charlotte and we have previously (years ago) enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately it was a different experience this time. We started with the ricotta bruschetta but found it inedible as it was piled high with cold pickled vegetables....the description of the dish on the menu did not mention that the vegetables were pickled so this was an unpleasant surprise. My husband had the monkfish "osso bucco" which was on top of over-salted risotto and the fish was overcooked. I had the veal saltimbocca and the veal was overcooked and on top of undercooked, chewy ravioli with a mushroom sauce that was significantly under seasoned. Hopefully it was just a bad night for the kitchen....
The reservation that was confirmed multiple times got us the worst table in the house. The same dish that was ordered by two people appeared on two different sized plated with vastly different looks. Unfortunate
Table wobbled -- otherwise a great place and wonderful meal.
Had dinner here a few months back before a concert and it was great! We were told about their brunch with bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's and decided to give it a shot. Great seating outdoors with views of the Charlotte Skyline, the set menu was a great Italian twist on the common brunch and delicious. Oh, and did I mention bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. Have some fun, give it a try.
Still one of my favorite places in charlotte. Our server, Chris, was awesome. It’s our favorite spot for a girls’ brunch!! They don’t advertise it, but they can make mimosas with pretty much any juice you’d like! I recommend the pineapple. The Benedict is always on point. Just be sure you add bacon to your meal since it’s now a veggie Benedict!
Food was good, service was not spot on at times, sometimes not very attentive.
The food and service were great! Will recommend to family and friends!
It has been a while since we have eaten here. The food was outstanding and will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and Veal Saltimbocca, both excellent. Wine by glass very reasonable and nice pour. Great evening.
Was disappointed. Had been to Dressler's a few weeks ago and looked forward to Vivace. Food and dessert was OK.
I absolutely love having brunch here! The ambience is great and can't beat the price. I come here frequently. In fact on this last visit me and my friends tried another restaurant to do something different and ended up at vivace anyway because it wasn't as good :)
Nice evening out; would go again.
We enjoyed the "mimosa brunch" however the restaurant was really, really noisy. It had a nice vibe, but if you want quiet, this is not the place. The appetizers were great - brussels sprouts and the arugula salad! I had the fried chicken sandwich and, while the flavors were nice, the bun was stale. I have eaten dinner here, too, and it was delicious.
We ate brunch at Vivace. The table service was good and the place is attractive, but ear-splittingly loud when busy. The calamari was delicious, but the frittatas were over cooked, dry, and practically tasteless. In short, there are better places for brunch in Charlotte.
Great! Celebrated an early birthday & everything was wonderful
Food was ok. Very over priced. Service was ok nothing to brag about
One of our favorite Charlotte date nights. Asked the server for wine pairings with courses and he did not disappoint. Overall 4 stars but would have been 5 if dessert had been better. Gelato was melted. Flourless chocolate brownie did not hold up as a takeout dessert.
