Vivace - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
My experience at Vivace was WONDERFUL! I made reservations there for my boyfriend's birthday and I am so glad I did. The service was exceptional, the food was incredible, and our waitress gave my boyfriend complimentary gelato for his birthday. We will definitely go back!
We required gluten-free dining due to Celiac Disease, and we reiterated multiple times that we were ordering from the Gluten Free menu (which is great that they have). After dinner was placed on the table, all looked fine. However, after the individual with Celiac had consumed half of his meal, we realized that there was a piece of bread buried under a mountain of food. Therefore, I would NOT recommend Vivace to anyone with food sensitivities since staff does not appear to be adequately trained.
Looking for great pasta before a race. This was a great choice - great selections and great taste. Initial service was excellent - but then slowed after we finished our pasta and ordered dessert. My latte seemed to have gotten lost until I tracked down a host to find it. Restaurant very full. Heather excellent personality and helpful. I would definitely go back.
It's mediocre Italian food at best. Luckily we went on Restaurant Week so we have to pay full price for what they served. Service was extremely slow there were times where the drinks came after the food we had asked several times for our drinks to come to our table at one point we even asked a manager and that was confusing for him to understand why wouldn't have our drinks. And when we arrived the saddest down and then told us nope sorry we gave you the wrong table you're going to have to wait a little longer.
Our overall experience was great, even when I sent my steak back because it was over cooked for my liking. The only thing I wish was better was our server, Regina. She just wasn't very friendly. There were times when she'd just come by, put something on the table and walk away without a word. We weren't expecting her to be all bubbly and chatty, but we also weren't expecting her to be so stand off ish.
I have two words to describe Vivace...Brussels Sprouts. I have been to the restaurant 5 or 6 times in the last two years and I get the Brussels Sprouts appetizer with every meal. They must sprinkle some kind of magic potion on them because even my teenager likes them. In addition to Brussels Sprouts, their main entrees are very good. Of particular note are the scallops, the veal saltimbocca, and the Zuppa di Pesce (with prawn, clams, baby octopus, potatoes, lobster in a tomato broth). I ordered steak at Vivace for the first time during my latest visit - the petite fillet. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and there was not an ounce of gristle or fat. I honestly don't know why people vote Vivace less than 5-stars across the board, but I guess everyone has an opinion. They are 5-star food to me. Oh and did I mention Brussels Sprouts?
Queens Feast dinner recently. Nina (server) was outstanding; friendly and knowledgeable. The calamari was a tad bland but had some crushed pepper heat in the breading. The black bass was very good. Our friends' child ordered a small buttered pasta plate that was $13! Pricey.
We enjoyed one of four entrees. The worst meal we had in Charlotte from Thursday -Sunday. The best was the pappardelle with bolognese sauce although pasta way over cooked, daughters black snapper( tasted very fishy) pork chop was underdone and topping inedible. Scallops underwhelmed my son in law. The Sat service was extremely slow taking 1: hour to receive our entrees
The inattentive waitress could have cared less. She kept pushing drinks. Go somewhere else for the money. Dining room extremely loud it was hard to carry on a conversation without shouting.
Food was average. Very adult menu. Great wine selection. Red sangria was the best. The view on the patio was great. We were there for a Birthday they had no special entertainment. I was told the birthday person would receive a card signed by all staff but he did not .
The food was amazing from appetizers to dessert. I had the Springer Mountain chicken for entree just wow.
The waiter was nice but he needs to learn how to manage to stay on top of all his tables when it very busy. It was restaurant week so it’s probably not like that all the time, I hope. It won’t stop us from coming back because the food was top notch.
My wife and I went to Vivaci to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From cocktails through dessert the food was absolutely wonderful. I was introduced to Hendricks gin - very smooth martini. We shared all dishes and highly recommend Siano Burrata Crostini to start. Delicious! The Caesar Salad was one of, if not the best, we have had in Charlotte. The dressing tasted like it had just been made. For our main course we had the Sauteed Atlantic Sea Scallops served with Truffle Celery Root Puree and Lobster Butter. The scallops melted in your mouth and the accompaniments were exquisite. We finished with a Decaf Espresso (served like it should be with lemon peel) and Chocolate Tera misso. Yummy!
We asked that the service not be rushed and were accommodated - dinner lasted more than 2 hours. The waitstaff was very pleasant and, because we were so pleased with the food, we took o moment when we were leaving to personally give our compliments to the chefs.
PS The anniversary card presented with dessert was signed by all of the people working there. A very nice Touch.
Will we return - you bet!!!
Went for Brunch celebrating a friends birthday. Server overwhelmed. No manager checking on tables, but man oh man.. the food is excellent. The guys on the line were pumping out food like crazy. Place is also beautiful. I’ll come back for dinner and try again.
Service was great, food was good, but mostly cold. Price went up $5 since last time we were here. Not a big deal as we decided to go a la carte this time around, so it actually ended up being cheaper with a beer instead of the bottomless mimosas. Menu very limited for a vegetarian and non existent for a vegan. Fortunately, I had some flexibility this time around. this was the third time here in a year, so we will continue to come because we live the ambience and it's centrally located for us all to meet.
