Vivace - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I went to Vivaci to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From cocktails through dessert the food was absolutely wonderful. I was introduced to Hendricks gin - very smooth martini. We shared all dishes and highly recommend Siano Burrata Crostini to start. Delicious! The Caesar Salad was one of, if not the best, we have had in Charlotte. The dressing tasted like it had just been made. For our main course we had the Sauteed Atlantic Sea Scallops served with Truffle Celery Root Puree and Lobster Butter. The scallops melted in your mouth and the accompaniments were exquisite. We finished with a Decaf Espresso (served like it should be with lemon peel) and Chocolate Tera misso. Yummy!
We asked that the service not be rushed and were accommodated - dinner lasted more than 2 hours. The waitstaff was very pleasant and, because we were so pleased with the food, we took o moment when we were leaving to personally give our compliments to the chefs.
PS The anniversary card presented with dessert was signed by all of the people working there. A very nice Touch.
Will we return - you bet!!!
Service was great, food was good, but mostly cold. Price went up $5 since last time we were here. Not a big deal as we decided to go a la carte this time around, so it actually ended up being cheaper with a beer instead of the bottomless mimosas. Menu very limited for a vegetarian and non existent for a vegan. Fortunately, I had some flexibility this time around. this was the third time here in a year, so we will continue to come because we live the ambience and it's centrally located for us all to meet.
I used to love this restaurant and was excited to reserve a table for New Year's eve. We ordered sparkling water, as suggested by the server but she returned shortly to tell us that they ran out of the sparkling water. The restaurant planned a special menu for the celebration for $65pp, but the server informed us right away that they ran out of fish. My boyfriend wanted to have fish but we said ok, let's do lamb. The server takes the order and then returns to us and tells us that they ran out of lamb as well.... We were not going to let that spoil our celebration so we ordered whatever was available and waited for the countdown... When I mentioned the countdown to our server, she smirked at us and said "there is no countdown and the restaurant is closing." They closed the restaurant closed at 11:50 pm - 10 minutes before New Year's - turned on all lights, turned off music, started sweeping floors. A couple sitting next to us was also not happy about how the restaurant spoiled the celebration and they turned on music on their phone and we all continued meeting the New Year's and making the best out of the situation. They also told me that they came to this restaurant every year for New Year's celebration and it was never like this, there was always a countdown, music, champagne.... Not sure what happened to the management but this time is was obviously not executed very well. If f this was any night of the year, I would not be so upset but this was our first New Year's together and there will never be another chance to have a first New Year's ever again.
This is one of my favorite places for brunch and dinner. The food and service are always wonderful, and the patio is perfect for summer brunch! Creative menus and well crafted cocktails that pair well make Vivace a great place for a quick bite or a special occasion.
We recently visited Vivace and loved it! We did the tasting menu and were very impressed with the quality of the ingredients, the flavor profiles, the creativity and presentation of the food. Although the atmosphere is fairly casual, the quality was wonderful and definitely suitable for foodies who appreciate all the above. The ambience is cozy, modern and comfortable. You will find business groups, families and couples here as clientele. We'd certainly recommend this restaurant!
The restaurant was quick to seat us, the waiter was pleasant but we felt rushed and pressure to give our order. The food was OK, drinks were good.
I guess I would go back for a date, but I think I can get better service in any other restaurant in Charlotte for the amount of money.
Food and drinks were great but service was less than par. Our server didn't seem to be too interested with our party of 5 although the rest of the staff were very friendly and attentive.
We all had different dishes and there were no leftovers. Food was definitely worth the wait!
Husband chose this place because it had gluten free options. However, the chicken dish he ordered from GF menu was definitely not GF. Before we even left, he started getting an itchy rash on arms and legs. Server didn’t come back to our table at all during our meal to refill water glasses or ask if we wanted more drinks. The coffee was mediocre at best. Cappuccino was lukewarm. Overall, was disappointing evening.
Food was tasteless and desperately needs someone to know how to season whatever their cooking -- except for copious amount of rosemary in the bread and one of the side dishes; an aggressive spice that was badly and liberally overused. No other seasoning seemed present in other food. Turkey gravy was "fine", as was the white meat turkey. The dark meat had several long, hard pieces that wouldn't even cut with a knife. The olive oil mashed potatoes were completely without flavor. Desserts were (a) bread pudding, which had the mouth feel of baby food and (b) apple pie - that was a child-sized slice and WAY too sweet. Hostess station manned by two young ladies who could have cared less about someone's arrival or greeting people. One was fully engaged in conversation with a dishwasher - as evidenced by his overalls / bib. She did not break her conversation until, after almost a full minute, I said "excuse me". Oh, she saw me standing there, but quickly looked back to the dishwasher-guy. The restaurant needs to be thoroughly cleaned - and the windows are a mess. We will not be back, we will not recommended - quite the opposite.
The food at Vivace on Thanksgiving was excellent. Sadly there was no outside seating, and the inside ambiance is not great. In addition, loud 60s music was blaring which just didn't seem appropropriate for the occasion. This was our first time at Vivace, and we hope to give it another try--espcially when the patio is open.
I love the atmosphere here. It is chic and casual with a relaxing ambiance. Wine selection is good and reasonably priced. Service is always amazing and the staff is well informed. The food is good - not to die for but good. I get the pappardelle but the recipe seemed a little different this time. Overall I enjoy my experiences here and would recommend to anyone wanting something that’s affordable and not the same old chain restaurant.
Wow, what a disappointment . There was over 1500 reviews for this restaurant, so being new to Charlotte and on my 6 year anniversary, I decided to give it a shot. On the way over, our cab driver commented how it was a nice restaurant and the views were spectacular...she ate there personally .
When we first got there, we noticed everyone was sitting downstairs . I asked for a seat with the view, and I was told someone had rented the entire upstairs and it was closed for the evening (7PM) . I was ok with this, and was politely brought to my table . I was then greeted by an inexperienced waiter, who took exceptionally long for anything I asked him (they were not that busy), was brought the two worst Moscow mules that I had...ever . The noise from the party upstairs was so loud that their music was blending in the with the music downstairs. The waiter could barely hear me and had to lean in several times just to hear what I was saying .
The food was par at best, was never brought any bread, and paid $34 for a beef tenderloin that was extremely small and only ok as far as taste goes .
I left there laughing about the whole experience bc it was so bad that it just became funny in the end. I will never go back to this place with my wife or recommend it to anyone in the future.
I dined on a Saturday evening at 6:30 so it was early. The service was good, not spectacular, the food selection was okay and I settled in on the veal saltamboca which was not tender but certainly edible frankly I was expecting more flavor. Was it a good meal for the money, yes. Was the atmosphere nice for a date, yes. Were the tables and chairs comfortable, ummmm next question.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. The staff was extremely welcoming, from the complimentary valet, to the hostesses, to the server. As you walk through the restaurant, each staff member greets you with a pleasant smile. Extensive wine menu, but the server was very helpful and knowledgeable about what is offered. Food was plentiful and we left FULL. Great value for your money. Ambiance was very intimate and calm. I received a complimentary gelato for my birthday, and the server handed me a birthday card at the end of the night that had been personally signed by the staff! That left a terrific impression and made my evening even more special! Would highly recommend.
