Got there and they ran out of most of the menu about an hour and a half before closing. Place was nice but it was a disappointment.
Terrible service. It was NYE but the place was half full. Slow service with a different person at our table each time. The food tasted good but was chintzy- I had a seafood dish that included 3 tiny scallops and ONE lobster claw. It was a scallop and lobster dish. Very cheaply done. I will not return.
Our waitress was wonderful. I wish I could remember her name. Awesome personality, patient, and attentive! Great customer service made this Vicky exceptional. Brunch was great!!
The food tonight was over-the-top awesome! And our waitress, Blythe, was so very nice and attentive!!
Understand why this restaurant is now closed. Bad service, food was OK. Shouldn’t have had to ask for bread. We wouldn’t have been returning but it’s out of business anyway.
Staff was overwhelmed, too many people & not enough staff. Waited a long time for mediocre food
Food was cold. It was not busy so it was poor service from the kitchen
Had dined at restaurant some years ago, very nice, elegant. This time, the bartender was our server, candle, no light; butter plate, no bread or butter; half of ceiling lights burned out; lighting canopies dirty; no dessert offered; limited wine selection. Expect owner is waiting the end of his lease. Very disappointing.
A very disappointing experience. I brought my family here on a Sunday evening before attending the Nutcracker. The rest of the patrons were primarily couples or families, yet the blaring music made you feel like you were at a club. I suggested to our server that holiday music would be great, they simply changed to another channel of similar music. My wife and I ordered Caesar salads to start. But, our salads arrived with mixed greens. The server made no mention when we ordered that they were not using romaine lettuce due to health concerns (haven't had that issue at other local restaurants). We were a table of 5 and, inexplicably, only 4 of us received our food. One dish wasn't included in our order and I had to wait while others in the party ate given our time constraints. They comped the missed order and our wine. But, we will definitely not be returning!
This used to be an excellent restaurant but appears to be closing any day now. Floors filthy. Service understaffed. Lights out everywhere. Horrible how far this has fallen.
We picked Vivace to celebrate my friends bday and a big move. The food is always amazing there. But wow, the service was pretty bad. We were very rushed, no one brought bread, we had to flag a server down to get drinks. It was not super busy in there. Maybe they were short staffed, but you know, Vivace is not an Appleby's or Olive Garden where you want to get out quick. It kind of made the experience less special, which is a shame because the food was fantastic.
Amazing service, food was ready timely, and most importantly absolutely delicious!
The restaurant looks worn out. Seat cushions in several places were split (some to the point that a customer could not sit on them). Menu has been cut so that choices are limited.
Should’ve walked out when the hostess was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and flip flops. Feels like it’s about to close. Almost no one was there, but our food still took forever because the 4 people working in the open kitchen alternated between disappearing for stretches, chatting with their friends at 2 of the 5 occupied tables and just standing around doing nothing. Our hostess in the hooded sweatshirt later sat down and hung out at one of the friends of the staff table. Another diner at the table was both watching there and acting as waiter picking up food from the kitchen. Kids meal came with Nutella and fruit. The fruit was orange slices cut for cocktails. Could’ve walked across the street to Trader Joe’s and bought some berries or apple or anything that goes with Nutella. Our server did an okay job, given the bizarre and really unprofessional behavior we witnessed.
It was very outstanding the brussel sprouts could have been more seasoned with more salt and the calabrian aioli could have had more spice and flavor overall a great experience
Good food and service, but energetic.
We had a family brunch with out-of-town family and celebrating my dad's retirement. Vivace really made it special. The food was great, the ambience was upscale but also warm and friendly. But best of all was the service! Our waitress Blythe could not have been more exceptional. She made the day for us. Thanks so much we will be back and definitely recommend for anyone to visit!
The service was great! Amanda was great. The employees talking in the back was a bit loud.
Excellent. We ll be back!
Everything I had was fantastic. The brussel sprouts we ordered for the table were unlike any other brussel sprouts I've ever had. The potatoes, the chicken, everything was phenomenal. Our waiter recommended a drink that was perfect for me. I loved the lighting, the atmosphere and the fall themed cocktails. I will definitely be giving Vivace more of my business.
Love this place!
I thought the food was overpriced relative to the quality.
We love Mimosa Sundays when mimosas are $2 each. That helps get us in the door and into a good mood, but the food is always good. Particularly the huge chunk of quiche. We laugh that Vivace has become the new millennial hangout on Sundays and we don't know how we got in. But it does have a fun, upbeat vibe. And as always, you can't beat the location on the stream and with the downtown view.
The food and environment are great for brunch. Just one problem - the noise.
They have a remodel scheduled for this winter. Hopefully, they put in something sound absorbent. Brunch conversation was nearly impossible without speaking in raised voices.
The patio is always a better option because of this, but it was too cold the day we went.
I had one of the worst meals I have ever had at Vivace. The calamari was fishy and too chewy and my veal was very tough and had too much sage in the sauce. My husband had their specialty pizza that could have used more sauce. I will not eat there again.
Vivace used to be a nice place to eat, but the interior is in major need of a facelift and their furniture is falling apart. The leather bench I was sitting on had a huge hole in it with the stuffing coming out. Food was ok at best and way overpriced. Will not be returning.
I enjoyed the ambiance and classy feel for a reasonable price. I do believe they were severely understaffed because our food took quite awhile and the floor and other tables needed to be cleaned, but our waiters were working hard. The $2 mimosas will keep me and my friends coming back.
My girlfriends came in town and I booked a reservations for brunch at Vivace. They were impressed and highly satisfied with their meal and the $2 mimosas! I would recommend this spot for brunch!
Will not return. I had two dirty glasses delivered to me and a dirty fork on my table. Server was a doll and was extremely accommodating. Decor is tired with ripped upholstery. We were there very early and the floor was not even swept from lunch. Food is marginal at best.
It was my 32nd birthday. Our waiter was fantastic!! Very friendly and helpful. Not to mention the food was amazing. We always have a great time at Vivace!!
I love this place. The food is always great and the ambiance is always right on time. Whether it be a birthday brunch or just a simple girls day brunch, we truly enjoy coming here. The $2 mimosas are always the perfect hit. Everyone is so nice. Just love it!!!
Order lobster over crab... Do not order Asparagus either, didn’t know you can screw that up.
Fantastic food! Plus great service and setting. Had a wonderful evening here and highly recommend it. We did wait 45 mins but enjoyed great service and complimentary bread/oil at the bar.
Fabulous service and delicious beef tenderloin!
Slow night on Labor Day. Not up to usual standard
This was our first time at Vivace. We planned on going for Sunday brunch and didn’t arrive until 2:45. The service was a little hectic (no fork, servers not familiar with menu & long wait for check and to-go boxes). Food and mimosas were excellent and perfect temperature. Will definitely go back for brunch.
Loved the brussel sprout appetizer and my fig pizza was delicious. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and is in a great location with beautiful views of uptown Charlotte.
Great. Lov the food and service
Inconsistent food. Brussels delish. But lobster ravioli still frozen...noisy kids playing on stairs...shouldnt be allowed in expensive restaurant
I have been to Vivace several times. It is consistent, has a good wine list, good service, and excellent food. The atmosphere is my favorite thing about it—beautiful interior and a large patio overlooking the Sugar Creek Greenway with a gorgeous view of the Charlotte skyline. Great for friends and for dates!
