About Vito's Restaurant & Lounge
Vito’s is an iconic 21 and over restaurant and lounge located on First Hill. Opened in 1953, it has a history rich in cocktail culture, organized crime and east coast, family style Italian food.
In April of 2010, Jeff Scott and Greg Lundgren purchased this Seattle institution and began a major restoration of the space. Their goal is to return Vito’s to the glamor and style of the 1950s, respect its colorful past and set the course for a 21st-century resurrection. Over the years the club has fallen into disrepair and poor alterations. They have replaced the dance floor with a performance space centered around a grand piano, with lounge singers, jazz trios and Lynchian curiosities that will dazzle and entertain into the early morning.

Vito's Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Had been wanting to try Vitos for some time, intrigued by the old italian 50's mob heritage. It was a great place to celebrate a birthday and they accommodated a switch from 4 to 5 guests on a Friday night. The food was delicious - small appetizer pizzas, an antipasto tray (watch out for ghost pepper salami), mains included large portion lasagna, perfectly cooked short ribs and large portion chicken marsala. No one left hungry or disappointed. Desert came with a candle and plate sized tiramisu. The music started at 9, right as we were ending our meal and we could see the band - a crowd started coming in and it felt like an old timey jazz bar - highly recommend for a fun nite out that is more than just grabbing a bite.
I was excited about going to an authentic Italian restaurant with my Girlfriend. Vito's did not disappoint. The food was amazing, not just amazing, but AMAZING!!! and we stayed there for 3 hours enjoying everything. It was a perfect, romantic night. The Tarantellas were a pleasure to listen too. Highly recommend to anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience. Service was terrific, food was great, nice atmosphere albeit a little loud. The restaurant was well attended for a Sunday evening. Music was a very nice addition. Three words: salted caramel gellato. We'll be back!
Vito's on Madison is a fine neighborhood Italian restaurant, and as such it is a great place to go and eat good, basic Italian. If there is anything on the menu that is not delicious, I have not come across it, and their Italian sausage, made by a local firm to their recipe, is simply the best. Good red sauce, al dente pasta, a small but tasty beer selection, dependable wines, artisan bread--I am getting hungry again just writing this.
What you're paying for is the ambiance and the music-- what a great vibe! The food is not out of this world. We had strange tasting olive oil on the table, tasteless tomatoes on the bruschetta, and the menu said nothing about olives being smoked-- we ended up sending them back. Luckily the main dishes were quite enjoyable.
We overall had a pretty good experience. The waiter was not very friendly, though, and really made us feel rushed and like he hated having us there. There were open tables, so it's not like they were worried about turning the table over and we also ordered a lot of stuff. The band that was playing was really good, and the food was also good. The rest of my group said the cocktails were tasty. It's quite dark and a bit smoky inside (it's a lounge), so take that into account when considering where to book.
Love this place. A very eclectic crowd, romantic dimmed lighting with a grand piano. The food was great and the staff were able to serve vegetarian options which were not advertised. The drinks were fabulous, especially tailored Bourbon drink I asked for.
Looks like they have great music but not at the time we were dining. Definitely will come again.
I have never been disappointed by Vito's. Everyone (over 21) goes here: hipsters, LGBTQ, old people, young people--everyone! The food is great, it's not high-priced (average entrée about $17), makes their own olives, has wonderful cocktails, great music (Jazz mostly), and great service. If you like Olive Garden, you might not like it here, but this little gem won't disappoint most folks.
We just discovered this gem! I love the early 50's cocktail vibe. Cocktails are good and the food we ordered, though not gourmet was pretty good standard Italian fare. Service is outstanding. We had extra people show up and the hostess was able to accommodate us all.
Will be going back
