Had a wonderful meal. The ambiance is 60 years or more ago. Felt genuine and authentic. Loved the piano player. Feels like a neighborhood establishment. I would definitely visit again.
They have half servings which is great and you can order off the lounge menu too ! Excellent Cjocolatr coconut gelato!!! Great service!
This was a nice change of pace to the normal modern restaurants that are popping up on every corner. Fun to be in the dark environment that when we walked outside thought OH, it's still light out. Service was wonderful, great recommendations.
The food was excellent and the ambience was very nice. I took a friend for his birthday because he wanted to hear some live music and he really enjoyed it. The only negative experience was our server, Katelyn... She wasn’t very attentive and when she did come over, she wasn’t engaging at all. I will come back to Vito’s but if Katelyn is still there, I don’t want her section.
Un-pretentious atmosphere, GREAT Cesar, the Lasagna measured up to our expectations, attentive staff, plenty of VERY GOOD bread and WONDERFUL dessert. We will all be back soon.
Very cool old school Italian spot
This was our second time at Vitos and we were lucky enough to have Matt as our waiter again. He always makes great food and wine selections and is very customer focused. Well be back many more times!
Great ambiance and service. Fun night out for drinks followed by appetizers and dinner, and then dessert while enjoying an evening of entertainment. Saw an excellent music act and was never rushed during the evening even though we occupied a table for almost 3 hours! Food was ok, but nothing to rave about. Nice to have carpaccio and caesar with extra white anchovies on the menu as well as cafe coretto and other excellent pastries for dessert. The rest of the menu, however, was less classic Italian and less well done. Not bad, just not what you nwould expect from a top end or even homestyle authentic Italian restaurant.
Had been wanting to try Vitos for some time, intrigued by the old italian 50's mob heritage. It was a great place to celebrate a birthday and they accommodated a switch from 4 to 5 guests on a Friday night. The food was delicious - small appetizer pizzas, an antipasto tray (watch out for ghost pepper salami), mains included large portion lasagna, perfectly cooked short ribs and large portion chicken marsala. No one left hungry or disappointed. Desert came with a candle and plate sized tiramisu. The music started at 9, right as we were ending our meal and we could see the band - a crowd started coming in and it felt like an old timey jazz bar - highly recommend for a fun nite out that is more than just grabbing a bite.
The 1960s “Mad Men” vibe was all we thought it would be. Impressed our
millennial’s and us as well ! Music by “The Hammer”, Bob Hammer was wonderful! They got it right and the food, the food, to die for!
I was excited about going to an authentic Italian restaurant with my Girlfriend. Vito's did not disappoint. The food was amazing, not just amazing, but AMAZING!!! and we stayed there for 3 hours enjoying everything. It was a perfect, romantic night. The Tarantellas were a pleasure to listen too. Highly recommend to anyone.
The light jazz was a nice touch to an old world American Italian restaurant. While the food is basic, it is very good and the staff is very attentive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience. Service was terrific, food was great, nice atmosphere albeit a little loud. The restaurant was well attended for a Sunday evening. Music was a very nice addition. Three words: salted caramel gellato. We'll be back!
Great little jazzy place, very 1940s ish.
Vito's on Madison is a fine neighborhood Italian restaurant, and as such it is a great place to go and eat good, basic Italian. If there is anything on the menu that is not delicious, I have not come across it, and their Italian sausage, made by a local firm to their recipe, is simply the best. Good red sauce, al dente pasta, a small but tasty beer selection, dependable wines, artisan bread--I am getting hungry again just writing this.
Visiting a friend in Victoria - I'm from Ontario. Food was great!
parking is both hard to find and costly , yet we love nostalgia and still go because we like VITOS ~
What you're paying for is the ambiance and the music-- what a great vibe! The food is not out of this world. We had strange tasting olive oil on the table, tasteless tomatoes on the bruschetta, and the menu said nothing about olives being smoked-- we ended up sending them back. Luckily the main dishes were quite enjoyable.
A delightful hidden gem! Warm, friendly service. Delicious food. Love romantic music was the cherry on top.
A wonderful experience all the way around! 6 of us all had fab food, cocktails, wine and our waiter was charming, funny, attentive and most welcoming! Perfect evening!
Cozy ambiance. Scallops were great. Very traditional cocktail menu that was appropriate for the "old Seattle" style of the place. Enjoyed the piano player and look forward to coming back to hear some of the other musicians that Vito's has lined up.
Dreadful service. Unprofessional music schedule. Mediocre food. Possibly one of the worst service we've ever received, and the staff were all unknowledgable and disinterested in their job.
Laid back and swanky all at once with amazing food. Vito's never fails to disappoint. Brought in 2 out of town friends who were picky and finicky and they ate everything up with a smile.
We overall had a pretty good experience. The waiter was not very friendly, though, and really made us feel rushed and like he hated having us there. There were open tables, so it's not like they were worried about turning the table over and we also ordered a lot of stuff. The band that was playing was really good, and the food was also good. The rest of my group said the cocktails were tasty. It's quite dark and a bit smoky inside (it's a lounge), so take that into account when considering where to book.
First time travelers to Seattle.. found Vito's as it was close to hotel. Lasagna was magnificent!
When I told the waitress that the oil was rancid she responded only by asking me if I wanted butter. I could continue but this comment tells you all you need to know about this spot. Spend your evening and more importantly money elsewhere.
Love this place. A very eclectic crowd, romantic dimmed lighting with a grand piano. The food was great and the staff were able to serve vegetarian options which were not advertised. The drinks were fabulous, especially tailored Bourbon drink I asked for.
Looks like they have great music but not at the time we were dining. Definitely will come again.
Good food but felt like we were being hustled out. Entertainment not what was advertised
Charming, delicious, sweet old couple performing Italian songs. Very sweet
We greatly enjoyed our dinner at Vito's and its proximity to our hotel in First Hill. Great ambience and a quiet atmosphere to enjoy great food and conversation!
Great lounge with live music. No cover, no minimum. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. Staff is excellent! Didn't have dinner but dessert was delicious. Highly recommend.
This place is classic! A 60's throwback with amazing Italian food, great piano bar, classic cocktails and quiet. I love Vito's!
The food was fresh and fantastic. The service old world charm Gave you space to talk to enjoy your date will go again.Proposed to my future wife there she said yes
We loved our visit at Vito's. It is a great pre-theatre place to be. We will return for more delicious food and warm welcomes.
VERY dark. No food photos.
Legit ceasar salad, but most of the dressing was on the stalks
Beet salad wonderful. The blue cheese wasn't crumbled so my wife could pick around lactose.
The service was outstanding. But
We won't be back.
I have never been disappointed by Vito's. Everyone (over 21) goes here: hipsters, LGBTQ, old people, young people--everyone! The food is great, it's not high-priced (average entrée about $17), makes their own olives, has wonderful cocktails, great music (Jazz mostly), and great service. If you like Olive Garden, you might not like it here, but this little gem won't disappoint most folks.
Vito's was excellent - great food and friendly service - I'd definitely recommend going!
The service was top notch, the food excellent and the choice for their house red was outstanding. Spicey sausage was spot on. No doubt we found a winner and will be returning!
The food wasn't anything special.
Super fun and a bit retro! Steak was amazing!
