Vito's Chop House - Orlando, FL Ratings and Reviews
Let me start by saying I’ve been to Vito’s Chop House several times over the past 15-years. Service and quality was always number 1. Unfortunately, this was not the case this past Tuesday evening. We ordered two bottles of Brunelo wine and we each ordered a steak; filet, bone in ribeye and Kansas City Strip. While the steaks were good but not great the service was horrible. Took 20-minutes to get a glass of water. I tipped the Haitian helper who brought us the water $20 and stated that it would be wonderful if he would keep an eye on us and insure we never run out of water. Never saw him again and getting water refills was a real effort. Then they forgot our asparagus order and still charged us for it. There were three of us dining and halfway through the meal I had to stop the waiter and ask her to please remove the forth place setting and extra glasses on the table. Took over two hours to get served FINALLY. We spent over $750 for a meal for the three of us. My take is being on International Drive means the restaurants don’t really care whether you have a pleasant dining experience since it is such a tourist area and they figure they won’t ever see you again. Well I’m local but they are right. They won’t see me again.
Vito's has unique menu catering to the art of steak dining. They explain the cuts of meat and have food quality. Little on the more expensive side side as far as price but what you get is not the ordinary. So if you don't mind paying a little more then you get a lot better meal. Excellent staff servuce. Manager came around and talked to us. Server presents the food to you and explain the options so you get to see what you are buying first. Thanks DJ!
Unfortunately my husband had been looking forward to a great steak and left very disappointed. He said the steak tasted like bad ham. Trust me, he knows a good steak as we had just eaten at Sullivan’s in Indpls the week before. I had chicken parm and it was good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice.
My husband and I stopped by after reading the wonderful reviews. However, our experience was less than stellar. We were sat at a table in a narrow walkway of the restaurant by the wines that most waiters had to bend over by our table to get too even though the majority of the bigger section of tables were empty. Furthermore, our waiter Mark was short and borderline rude. First, I ordered a salad since I was so full after the appetizer. When my husband ordered a wonderful filet Mark asked us three times if I would be sharing the steak. I tried to explain that I was already too full but he asked repeatedly while cutting us off..not for sure why. After dinner we were looking forward to desert but I unintentionally interrupted him when he was showcasing the various deserts to ask a question (I know it was rude of me but I was so excited about the taramasui that I just blurted out a question about the it). He proceeded to ignore me after giving me a condescending look and kept talking. After he got through the rest of the desert details he just looked at me and said, "Now, what was your question...."
The food was great but after the horrible service we will not be going back anytime soon.
After eating g at Vito's for 25 years, once a year on vacation I was truly looking forward to our historic favorite steak restaurant in Florida. What an incredible disappointment. For years I have recommended the restaurant to patients and friends for which I will no longer get continue.A bummer for me.
Superb setting - old world Italian Chop House. Amazing wine selection with a Sommelier to help with the selection. Grilled artichoke start that I could eat everyday for the rest of my life. Porterhouse for 2 cooked to perfection. Home made desserts. 10 out of 10.
My husband and I shared the Porterhouse and a pork chop, along with the scallion mashed potatoes, broccoli, and brussel sprouts. My husband’s steak was actually a little over his requested medium and they quickly took it away and made him a new one. Everything was absolutely delicious. Very good service and a relaxing pace for the meal. A lot of business people in suits, but we didn’t feel out of place in our vacation casual (shorts/polo and capris). Highly recommend Vito’s!
A very pleasant experience at VITO's. I was pleasantly surprised. Very good food, attention to detail and superb service. 2 different managers came by to check on the meal, and throughout the meals, goodies were brought to the table - as surprises from the Chef. Very impressive! K Poonawala
I wasn't expecting to have one of the best meals of my life, but that is just what this was! My husband and I split Vito's signature porterhouse - it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We combined it with a Malbec. The ambiance of this restaurant is fantastic- low lighting and just the right decor. It was romantic and cozy, and a great place that I plan on bringing family to when they come to town. I left the restaurant feeling happy. I will be coming back.
We were excited to bring out of town friends there after talking up the restaurant a few weeks earlier but the experience was almost embarrassing. The biggest issue was the service. To begin with, we waited a bit too long after being seated for our table to even be approached. Our drink glasses remained empty several times during the evening making us look for our server to get new ones. My husband's steak was over done (and tuff) but since our server did not return to our table (and was no where to be seen) after our food was served the rest of us we're well into our meals when the manager stopped by on routine rounds and quickly offered to get a new steak. He opted not to since it would come after the rest of us finished. The steak was taken our bill. With so many restaurant options in Orlando, I doubt we will go back.
Greedy. We were a group of tweleve. Packed into a room with five other large groups. Tables so close together the wait staff couldnt get to the end of the table. They all yelled from the far end of the table. You couldnt hear a thing they said. Reaching and passing food and beverages across the table and over people. One person received a hot dish about 15 minutes before anyone else. That being said the food was very good. No reason to jam so many people into such a small space.
Extremely disappointed. Don't even think of any seafood. Realize a chop house but if you can't do seafood any better than this then don't have it on the menu. Sea bass had no flavor at all. Shrimp had a processed/preserved taste to it. Only decent food from party of 4 were the appetizers.
Going to Vito's is like going to a stage performance, only with the food as the stars. From the time you are seated until you leave, you are treated as VIPs with attentive service from both the server and the managers. The wine list is impressive and has a decent range of prices. The food is priced along the lines of similar steak houses and prepared very well. Expect to spend around at least $100 per person including appetizers, wine and desert.
