Had another client visit her. She had a ravioli special and I had the Chicken Ceasar - she loved her's and mine was as always delcious. I love this place .
Food was excellent (succulent veal chop). Service was excellent. Best Caesar salad maybe in the World.
I love this restaurant. Great food, great service, good ambiance. On the downside, tables are very close together and the noise level borders on unbearable. In site of the noise level, which makes conversation quite difficult, I keep coming back...this says a lot about how much I like the food and service.
The BEST Caesar salad in the city (Los Angles). No kidding. Prepared table-side, as it should be - but never is anymore... except at this wonderful restaurant. No wonder they're still around after 30+ years. Also had the chicken in lemon sauce - fabulous!!!
Upscale authentic italian cuisine
Love the old school Italian dining. Our pasta special with shiitake mushrooms, arugula and shrimp was fabulous! And the carrot cake was chunky and rich just like it’s supposed to be. Great service with experienced waiters. We’ll be back!
Always good! Had the Governor of North Carolina for lunch and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Always great service & delicious food!
Me and my wife went to celebrate our anniversary service was ok but what my wife didn’t like was that they never acknowledge or said congrats on our anniversary
Love dining at Vito. Excellent food and service. A refined atmosphere. Old-school service. Great cocktails. Desserts are fabulous.
Because we had a party of 5 we were put in the back room next to the kitchen. Not my favorite place. And it was for my birthday celebration. We've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years so that was a bit disappointing. The food was very good as usual, the service fine, but the ambiance and noise level was difficult for me to hear and enjoy. Hope all is better the next time.
Very small portions. Numerous waiters / servers / too loud. Too crowded. The food was good although my oyster plate included a few empty shells.
Usually Vito is Great, however this time around, they were lacking their usually excellent service.
I believe, because many new waiters. Also, unfortunately we were sitting next to a large party which
was unreasonably loud - we had to change tables to hear each other. Ask and avoid seating in the room
where they are hosting any group over 4.
Selebrating two good friends before they start a big, long trip to Japan.
Consistently, excellent food. Caesar salad is done table-side, and is the best in town. Veal dishes are all superb, and pay attention to daily specials. Rack of lamb and osso bucco are two standouts. And be sure to leave room for something (or somethings) from the rotating dessert cart. For me and my entire family, what makes this restaurant so special goes way beyond the food (and I'm sure from my comments that you can tell what I think of the food). The waiters--and staff in its entirety--treat you like kings and queens, without pretension. There is a genuine welcoming air and spirit to the place that is always pleasant and supremely comforting.
Old style Italian restaurant with waiters in tuxedos with speedy service and great food. The restaurant is popular as the place is generally crowded with noise from patrons and staff trying to accommodate everyone.
Great wine list and desert is brought to the table to select. Neat place to dine.
One of my favorite restaurants when I come into town. I used to live here and every time I come back it’s a must. Everything is always good.
Have been going to Vito for 20 years and it just never disappoints. Wonderful place, friendly, great good, love it!
Fabulous old school Italian worth traveling for!
Old-fashioned Italian restaurant with great food and quick, attentive service. We had a salmon special and beef lasagna, both delicious. Lavish dessert cart with yummy lemon cake. Ask for a VIP Card to get 30% off on future visits!
Vito’s on Ocean Park has good food for decent price. Service is alway attentive and excellent. Martinis are well portioned and Well priced. we’ve always have enjoyed dinners here and best of all you can actually have conversations without screaming and struggling to hear which is a rarity today!
Food and service is always consistent. Friendly atmosphere.
Best drinks! Great bar. Good foot. Comfort food. authentic Italian. Get the Cesar salad.
been to Vito's a great many times. Food always good, and table caesar is always a must. This Friday they were very crowded and service took forever. the kitchen was backed up. Would put on more waiters during high volume
Great old fashioned Italian restaurant of the kind that is becoming more and more rare these days. The food was excellen especially the marinara sauce. The old fashioned ambiance was an added bonus as was the surprising selection of cakes and pie for dessert.
If you love Italian, you will love Vito! Outstanding wine, food (veal dishes awesome), authentic pasta & dessert cart extraordinaire! Have to stop when in Santa Monica and let the guys take care of you ~ fu-git-abowd-it 🍷🍷😎
The Caesar salad was very good as we had anticipated, and graciously served. The main courses (for the 2 of us) were very disappointing. We were shocked. What should have been a tasty sand dabs was smothered in a heavy, uninteresting sauce that totally obliterated the delicate flavor of this wonderful fish. The "mashed" potato was a dry-ish round blob. The other entree, the veal Marsala, was choked with an overly-salty sauce that tasted like it came out of a package. Also, the waiter brought a glass of the wrong red wine, and when he returned with the correct one, he simply poured it into the remnants of the first wine, blending them together. Tacky. We passed on the huge dessert table, which was overly- crowded with a mass of cakes, most of which looked too heavy and rich to be appetizing. All told, not like the old days.
The noise level was high, but not overwhelming. Pretty much par for the course for a Westside restaurant these days.
The servers were quick, efficient and friendly and, except for the wine incident, right on.
I really love the lasagna at Vito, which is why I have gone back twice, and which feels reasonably priced—especially for the portion size. I always bring half home. The bread is also delicious.
What I hate is the way that they kind of trick you into buying their expensive everything else. For example, there’s no drinks menu. If you want wine, you pick your varietal and it comes. You have no idea what it is. You also have no idea that it’s like $20 a glass. Desserts—same thing. They wheel over the dessert cart and you have no idea how much anything is. Turns out, a slice of cake (which was good, but not great) is $13. So a meal gets crazy expensive really fast. Especially when you throw in their $20 Caesar salad “for two,” which btw, actually feeds three.
Really good CEsar salad. Veal Osso buco wonderful. Great desserts
Vito has become our favorite place for a great date. Solid. Every time.
Great service and well-prepared dishes. Wonderful ambience. What more can you ask for.
This is an experience each and every time and you can always expect the best food and service!
Very old school and always love coming here. The food is good, not stupendous, but you come for the experience.
Vito is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is great, the atmosphere classy and the the staff friendly and efficient.
We had a reservation for 630 pm . The table had to be set and had to wait for 10 mins . Table should be ready when a reservation is made . Staff were nice and friendly . The carpet is old and had a funny funky smell . Food was ok .
Upon being seated at our table in a small room with a large table of very loud guests, we asked if we could be seated at the bar which was much more palatable. The bartenders were very professional and were extremely helpful. The staff is great. Food is wonderful. Its pricey but worth it. If there are no large party's it would be a great date night.
We always love a special date night at Vito’s and even hav ordered large take out orders for special family dinners. Alberto always takes such good care of us and recommends delicious special dishes...always so happy we dine t Vito’s
As always, it was a pure pleasure to dine at Vitos. The veal was outstanding.
