I was perfection excellent customer service and the food is quality thank you Noella Baci
Old School Italian. Food was fine but nothing stood out. Somewhat lacking in overall flavor. Ambiance is very dated. Service is old school which is a good thing in LA! Very attentive.
I was in a party of five and they wouldn't give separate checks. No such notice was displayed anywhere. One of my numbers savvy friend calculated the totals including tip for us and submitted our credit cards. The Maitre D' told us we couldn't include tip. More inconvenience. When our checks came back we signed and added the tip. The waiter stormed back to complain that the tip wasn't enough!!! When restaurant policies cause such inconvenience I DON'T TIP. But the waiter told us how much it should be. Unprecedented. We won't be going back. Besides their cheese is pregrated in a little shaker. The better Italian restaurants have fresh cheese grated on request.
The calamari was excellent!!
Consistent - Good food, good service. Of course I will go
Been going here for years, always consistently awesome!
food was wonderful the service outstanding. we will be back soon
Best Italian restaurant on entire west side
Always outstanding and our “go to place”.
We had a wonderful meal as always!! I don’t prefer the room towards the back left of the restaurant, it’s a bit louder than the other dining areas but the service and food was top notch.
Its americanized italian food.
The inside are small rooms and tables too close too each other.
Everything is always fantastic at Vito. Thank you for another wonderful meal!
There is a reason that Vito’s is a regular spot for so many for such a long long time, and it is because everything about it is great.
I tried to avoid garlic in both the Caesar salad and the linguine with clams by asking for no garlic in the salad or linguine with clams. I also asked for no croutons and no anchovy paste (my wife does not like anchovies), but rather had whole anchovies on the side for myself.
None the less, I had a very severe negative reaction to the food later that night. Maybe, there was still some garlic somewhere in the meal or else some other ingredient caused the reaction.
I enjoyed the taste, but I'll have to avoid these selections (especially the caeser salad) in the future.
Food is very good, though noise levels are a bit high. It is a rather crowded space with limited waiting area (basically the bar). Service is very attentive.
Food was absolutely outstanding. I've heard many people recommend this restaurant. It has old world charm. A quaint atmosphere with bustling waiters moving purposely. The menu has a wide selection of dishes. The dessert cart moves in to finish off the meal. Could not have been more impressed. Felt like I was in a restaurant in the heart of Florence Italy. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the good service in general but the main course (to follow) was a disappointment. To start we had cocktails which were excellent, then the fried calamari which was better than average but not stellar, it lacked flavor and the fried crust was a little mushy. Caesar salad was delicious prepared at table. I ordered a veal Milanese which was so thin that the breaded part on both sides was thicker than the meat, that's not correct and the overall flavor was like old oil, no veal flavor to speak of. I was disappointed but I wasn't in the mood to complain given the holidays and they were so busy. The pasta was good, but again nothing very special. It's really too bad because this restaurant has a great atmosphere and a good authentic vibe. To be be fair I did see some other dishes being served which looked delicious so perhaps the next time we will have a better experience.
Always a good choice for old style east coast Italian dining. This is a favorite for many years in spite of the near earsplitting noise level when the restaurant is busy (which it usually is). I prefer to come relatively late (after 8:00 PM) when the early dining crowd begins to thin out and the noise level drops.
Feels like home. Always good
The food is excellent and the service is outstanding!!! Always wonderful!
Vito is a long-established restaurant and so it's clear that it appeals to a large population but for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would choose this place when there are so many outstanding Italian alternatives in LA. Vito's is a traditional restaurant with Italian-speaking tuxedoed staff who likely have been there for a decade or more. The food (what we had) was acceptable but nothing special. What drove our negative experience was the overall chaos and frenetic environment of the restaurant. Tables are packed together like sardines and unfortunately our party of 2 was seated next to a large party of 12 that included 1-2 of those people that every diner hates who feel like they have to be heard by speaking (or screeching) over everyone. Both waiters and busboys are racing around like chickens with their heads cut off, but it doesn't help get the food to the table any quicker. The waiter tried to compensate for the slow food by (unsuccessfully) pushing us to order more wine. After being seated for an hour we had only received our salads. To management's credit, when we decided that the experience was so bad we couldn't take it anymore and cancelled our entrees and asked for our check, they handled it professionally and with apologies.
Always fun. Always delicious.
Old world italian food made to perfection and served by a wait staff that are experienced at making you feel welcomed and cared for throughout your dining experience.
Been a regular for about 20yrs now and Vito has never missed the mark. Exceptional service & cuisine. Looking forward to my next visit.
We have been coming to Vito for many years and can always rely on getting attentive service, generous cocktails, great Cesar salad with a friendly ambiance. Thank you Vito for taking good care of us when we brought our daughter and her sweetie on Saturday 11/30, we all loved it!
We were thrilled to get the very private booth in the back of one dining area and it was the best seats in the house.
Our waiter was charming and attentive which added much warmth to our visit.
Hooray for Vito!
Always an amazing experience!
Exceptional service and friendly staff! Always a pleasure coming here to celebrate any special occasions
The salmon was very good and the pasta with shrimp and scallops in a creamy cognac sauce was yummy.
Neighborhood fav run by stellar family. Cannot go wrong.
Had another client visit her. She had a ravioli special and I had the Chicken Ceasar - she loved her's and mine was as always delcious. I love this place .
Food was excellent (succulent veal chop). Service was excellent. Best Caesar salad maybe in the World.
Very good. Always enjoy the experience. Thank you guys!
I love this restaurant. Great food, great service, good ambiance. On the downside, tables are very close together and the noise level borders on unbearable. In site of the noise level, which makes conversation quite difficult, I keep coming back...this says a lot about how much I like the food and service.
The BEST Caesar salad in the city (Los Angles). No kidding. Prepared table-side, as it should be - but never is anymore... except at this wonderful restaurant. No wonder they're still around after 30+ years. Also had the chicken in lemon sauce - fabulous!!!
Upscale authentic italian cuisine
Love the old school Italian dining. Our pasta special with shiitake mushrooms, arugula and shrimp was fabulous! And the carrot cake was chunky and rich just like it’s supposed to be. Great service with experienced waiters. We’ll be back!
Always good! Had the Governor of North Carolina for lunch and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Always great service & delicious food!
Me and my wife went to celebrate our anniversary service was ok but what my wife didn’t like was that they never acknowledge or said congrats on our anniversary
