Vito Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This is a classic Italian restaurant. Their salads are sold to serve two - you got your pastas, veal, fish, beef and Specials. Waiters been there forever and know their stuff. Well behaved kids welcome. We generally go with friends or a family event in the evenings. Have not yet tried the lunch ambiance. There are multiple rooms and carpets which help keep the noise down but still, folks having fun!
We were seated right away and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The food, YUMMY!!!! We started with the the Caesar Salad for two that was mixed right at our table, that's fun to watch, but the flavor was amazing. Not too much dressing, just right. Portions were good sized. Having had the salad, was a little too full for full entree, but was able to take home, and it was even better the next day!!!! A little pricey, but worth it. Will definitely be going back!
We had a delicious dinner. The restaurant has an old fashioned feel with booths and a quiet atmosphere. The Caesar salad was terrific and the waiter put it together at the table like they used to do. We all had pastas and everyone loved their’s . We barely had room for dessert but managed to finish the creme brûlée cheesecake.
We are from Pittsburgh PA and we stumbled upon Vito's when we were visiting LA approx 3 years ago. We were looking for pizza and when we got there we learned they didn't have pizza but the experience we had was beyond pizza and one that we enjoyed so very much that we now come back every single time we are in the area. The food is delicious the service is authentic, friendly and attentive, never leaving you wanting or needing a thing, making the experience memorable. Our go to's are Mozzarella Parmesan and Caesar salad made table-side. You can't go wrong with any of the entrees, it just depends on what you are craving that night. You must visit Vito's!
Old school Italian, authentic Italian that is usually found on the East Coast. The food was delicious, especially the tangy, crisp Ceasar salad made table side. The pasta bolognese and tiramisu were the standouts among several great dishes . I'd give it 5 stars but the service was a little rushed and frenetic; however, to someone from the East Coast, that was part of the charm. They also have a great Italian wine list and Black Sambuca.
We were rushed through our meal. There was a large party scheduled less than 1 hour after we were seated and the bill was presented before we finished dinner and our wine. The host was rude, arrogant and obnoxious. No need to spend your money here. There are lots of Italian restaurants in LA.
best Italian restaurant in L.A. I love that it still has the old world feeling
with it's booths, dimmed lights, chandeliers , etc. I hate all the new
restaurants that are so bright and loud and you can't even hear yourself
think. but Vito's is a calming atmosphere and the food is excellent. service
is also great. it's a bit on the pricey side, but worth it for special occasions.
so glad we still have such a restaurant in L.A.
True authentic Italian cuisine. The wait staff was amazing and very nice. Most of them have worked there for 10 plus years so they really feel like family to each other and you can sense that. The food is awesome as well with large portions. My date and I shared one dish each course...calamari, salad, fettuccine al salmone, and cheese cake. Definitely will return!
Way too noisy in the back room by back exit sitting next to a table of 8 and table of 4 behind us. They should have told a guy and girl at the 8 table too keep it down, everyone else was talking at normal expected level for a large table situation. Unbearable.
