Vitello's Ratings and Reviews
I used to go to this restaurant several time s a week when we lived down the block and when the previous owners were in charge.
Since then we had only come back for the occasional dinner. The restaurant has maintained it's excellent cuisine, however I have found that their prices have skyrocketed way too much. The lunch tab for 3 people, with tip & no alcoholic beverages came to $81.00. Way out of line!
Overall a good night. We were celebrating a bday before Hamilton the play. We made reservations, asked for a booth. We were told booths are for four people only. Kinda annoying but Not a big deal, but thebooth sat empty the entire time we were there. Service was excellent. Food really good.
Vitello's scores on all bases. It is a lovely, beautifully furnished and handsome space, with both open and more cozy, private areas, as well as sidewalk dining. It is upscale without being off-putting. It offers both a vintage fine restaurant experience as well as a contemporary happening vibe. The service is friendly and second to none, and the cuisine is just exquisite. My friend's bone-in rib eye steak was among the most flavorful ever and cooked perfectly, while my eggplant parmigiana was delightfully seasoned, rich and not overly filling. Such a fine experience in every way.
I have been to this restaurant several times over the years and even rented out the upstairs room for a business meeting. We had a waiter and his trainee taking care of us. After our initial encounter, we were ignored by both waiters and eventually two supervisors took note and finally delivered bread to our table. People at the next table were on their third basket of bread. Then there was the food. I can always tell how good the high end restaurant's food is going to be by the quality of the hamburger if there is one on the menu. It sounded great (ground brisket) but arrived cold, flat, dry and tasteless. The chopped caesar salad was the highlight. It was cold and tasted very fresh. All of the other entrees were mediocre at best. They took a percentage off the bill and provided 3 desserts to ease the pain, however they shouldn't have been a bill in the first place. Two managers were very aware of the situation. If they comped the bill we would undoubtedly given Vitello's another chance. Poor food, service and management. NEVER AGAIN!
We hadn't been to Vitello's for years. It was under construction the last time we were there.
I didn't recognize the place. It is very stylist 21st Century. Cool and edgy.
The food, which is no longer old style Italian, was good. So was the coffee and the cocktails were respectable. Our server, Melinda, was very attentive.
The new Vitello's is a tad pricey. Still, I liked it and would return.
Let me start by saying the service was amazing! As for drinks- I did not have a mixed drink so cannot speak to that, but I had wine, which was okay. The wine list is very basic, boring, and limited. They can definitely work on this and get someone to recommend adding wines who knows wines.
As for food, the small group I was with is mixed. I personally thought it was awful and actually ate off another plate. BUT- i was the only one who had fish so maybe just the fish needs to be improved or taken off the menu. It was OBVIOusly frozen that was rolled in batter and thrown in a microwave. It was dry and tasteless, leaving the entree uneatable.
So would I go back...I'm unsure. I think I would to pick aomething else off the menu, and try a cocktail. It might be better. And again- the service was amazing.
The place looks amazing and the service was impeccable as well as the cocktails. But unfortunately it doesn't even come close to real Italian food, and they offer a pizza that taste like it came from the frozen section at the grocery store.
It's definitely hard to please me with Italian food considering I am 100% Sicilian and grew up in a very Sicilian household. But my girlfriend who is the furthest thing from Sicilian did not care for it either, so what does that tell you.
This place never disappoints. My girlfriends and I were running late Saturday evening. I put a call in and they were very accomomodating. The staff was very friendly and professional. Love the ambiance, food was delish. I have had business lunch/brunches, evening soirees with a group of friends and get togethers. Such a wonderful neighborhood gem.
Amazing as always and the salmon fettuccine special was delicious! We tried the fried ravioli too and they were outstanding! Vitellos our favorite restaurant for our usual entrees with always changing magnificent specials 👍🎉 We highly recommend going to Vitellos if you've never been and you will be hooked and it will be your favorite restaurant too!
My first time though I've walked by it for years. The ambiance is romantic and sophisticated . The live music is classy . Service was good. Food was great and wine too. Too old for my 23 year old daughter , the age group was like 50 to 80. I'd go back with friends and family.
The decor and atmosphere is hip, low key, and comfy neighborhood all at the same time. Loved the calamari seasoning and the red spicy dip. Speaking of spicy the spicy red clams and linguine was sensational! Wish I had asked for a good wine pairing and it would have been over the top. Service is highly attentive for large groups and low key for twosomes so you can have a quiet date and not feel rushed. All around fab Friday night.
