We had dinner at Visconti's on Saturday, September 19. The food, and service was great. Paul is an exceptional waiter and always ensures we have a positive experience. He is friendly, professional, and engaging and responds quickly and positively to any request. We eat at Visconti's every time we come to Leavenworth.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff & great food made this a very enjoyable experience.
Clam linguini was a bit boring. Clams might have been a little off. Cioppino was good but not spicy and vegetables cut too large. Wine list was very good, prices good. Calamari was only rings, no babies, but was good. Our server was excellent. Prompt and funny. I love the ambience so much I will always go back.
I absolutely LOVE this place. The food is amazing and the ambiance is wonderful. I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was one of the best I have ever had. I will definitely be back!
Mediocre food with little ambience. The cannelloni and the grilled prawns were too spicy for most people to eat. The salad was small but tasty with no frills. The special cheese sauce on the crab and pasta was thin and watery. The bread and the service were good. Spent a lot of money on a special occasion for a mediocre experience.
We had a wonderful meal at visconti's. The bruschetta starter was full of fresh tomatoes on top of great bread. The cane long was awesome, with fresh pasta and loaded with a savory and meaty filling and topped with a great sauce. My pork chop was cooked well and sat atop a wonderful mushroom risotto. Great wine list of local and Italian wines. service was good and kept us happy. Would highly recommend this especially if looking for a non-bavarian meal.
The meat and cheese starters were great, ask for some fig jam, it's a secret. For entrées we had the lemon crab linguine and the cannelloni. Both dishes were amazing! The linguine had plenty of fresh Dungeness crab and the cannelloni was stuffed with fresh, homemade sausage and the shells were baked to perfection with just the right amount of crisp. Service was exceptional as well.
Staff were very helpful. Our waiter was super friendly and the person who took the wine order was very informative about Italian wines. Food portions were very generous and our meals were delicious. The whole evening was very enjoyable.
This was one of our highlights during our vacation to Leavenworth. While it's not German/Austrian/Bavarian food, it was very good Italian. We had a bunch of different meals and it was very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.
Two of the five stars for Visconti’s go to Kristine our server, and to James who kept us supplied with bread with herbed olive oil and our glasses filled with water. Why single them out? There’s a story behind it.
My wife and I had dinner reservations for 5 pm and we were seated at a nice table under a window and handed menus by the hostess. The dining room was virtually empty. There was a family of four at a table and the server was engaged in conversation with them. The problem was we were seated in his area but he never looked at us. He saw us when he brought food to their table but never approached our table, keeping his back turned to us the whole time. We were there for 15 minutes, had our closed menus on the table and he continued to ignore us. James came over to our table about 5 minutes after we were seated and gave us bread and filled our glasses with water. He was letting us know we weren't forgotten.
Kristine came over to apologize for the wait and asked to take our order. Her station was all the way across the room but she still came over to us. She was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She answered our menu questions and took our order. James continued to check back to see if we needed our water glasses refilled. At the end of our meal, Kristine came back with the bill and I asked her “This wasn’t your table, was it?” She said no, it wasn’t.
Kristine gave us absolutely memorable service which was great since we were there celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. She and James saved the evening with their top notch customer service and friendliness.
The food? I had the Alaskan king salmon, roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes all cooked in a wood-fired oven. It was among the best meals I’ve ever had. Everything perfectly cooked with the added smoky flavors from that oven. My wife had the Ragu Alla Bolognese and loved it. The sauce was immensely flavorful and the meat and pasta, and fresh peas were cooked perfectly as well.
We were feeling a little neglected by our server and found out he was also the bartender! We did ask another server for refills on our drinks and additional items. It would have been appropriate for our server to tell us directly and mention to his coworker to keep and eye on his tables.
Food was great. We both had the meat ragu with pasta tubes.
Nice range of food and wine choices. Ours meals were prepared to perfection. Service was attentive and very helpful without being intrusive. If you visit Leavenworth, be sure to dine at Vistonti's at least once.
Food was very well prepared and the outdoor seating was nice. Table server was quick, knowledgeable and overall was good at what he did. I do not remember his name. I thought. We would definitely return.
Visconti's is always a great experience. The food, service, and ambiance is always great. However, there was a table of 10 women who were loud, obnoxious, and inconsiderate of others around them. They kept laughing and shouting and we couldn't even hear ourselves talking. Finally, our wonderful waiter Paul moved us to another section. Problem solved. I think management should let groups like this know that they are ruining the experience for others and they need to knock off the overly loud behavior.
Seated right away with great staff attending us. Kim and Chris were very good at suggestions for dinner, wine, etc. A little overpriced for pasta and the halibut was a bit over done for me but the wife thought it was good. We'd go there again.
Food and service were good. Bartending stafff were exceptional, especially Craig.
We went to Visconti's for Valentines Day and it was a wonderful time. Our waitress was very nice and helpful and the food was amazing. I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was very possibly the best I've ever had. The location was convenient and the ambiance was very nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
My food and drink was good. A bit spendy for what I had and loud. It was good but not overly impressive for the price.
What a wonderful evening. Arrived and our table was ready right away. We were immediately asked if we wanted beverages and bread and dipping oil was delivered. We ordered appetizers which were brought to our table in a short time and they were wonderful. Our dinner was fantastic! I would recommend that any one visiting Leavenworth check it out as well as their deli called "Cure" we their own smoked meats and a variety of cheese on the street level.
We decided to try Visconti's one more time even though last time we ate there the food was so-so. The atmosphere is always great and the service usually is too. For the price, though, the food is not good enough. I had Linguine with Clams. I probably had less linguine in my bowl than my kids had in their kid's pasta dishes. The clams were delicious but there was so little linguine that after eating my pasta, I was left with a bowl of garlic butter that had no where to go. I was still hungry. For $19, I was not going to fill up on bread. The bread, by the way, was ice cold as if it had been frozen for New Year's eve. We were there early. At least save the frozen bread for later when it is super busy and you are running out of food!!!!!
Excellent service, menu selection, meal and wine! We drove 120 miles to Visconti's in Leavenworth to celebrate our daughter's birthday . . . and we would do it again! Wallace
It was loud, hot, overflowing with people sitting on the stairs (this was so terrible) and filling the halls waiting for a table. It was crowded and uncomfortable. They put as at a table pushed up against a door leading out to a deck, a foot from another table, who's voices filled the space between my date and I. It was a table during off-season that I am sure wouldn't normally be there. I asked to be moved to a real table, and waited 15 minutes to do so after our hostess wouldn't but I asked a busser to move us. (Keeping in mind there was a window seat available and open when we were sat, and on "opentable" I requested a window seat. When I asked to be moved to the open, 2-person table, I was told it wasn't available. Then 10 minutes later, they sat another couple there.) Even then, crying children, people wandering the restaurant waiting for a table, too many tables for the space... it wasn't as romantic as I was hoping it would be. It was pretty inside, the decorations, but the people standing against the walls and sitting on the stairs ruined the ambiance.
BUT our waitress was very nice and was probably insanely stressed, though she never let on. Service was quick, food came out hot and well paced, but you can tell they want to limit the bread you get at your table - but that's not really a knock on them, it was busy, I guess. The bussers weren't nearly as professional as our waitress, a bunch of "kids" (I'm 28) just grabbing at plates and half filling water glasses.
The food was good, over priced for what you get ($16 for a dozen, lightly filled, raviolis), but it's good. The value just isn't there with what you get compared to the lack of any type of pleasant ambiance. The only word I can think to describe our night was "uncomfortable". Honestly, eat there in the off-season. Don't bother on a busy winter night. Next time, I think we'll skip trying to have a nice dinner in Leavenworth.
We had a party of four but two people got delayed and we were left with a very short window for dinner. We informed the server that we were in a hurry and they got our food and bill to us in record time, which was very much appreciated! The food was outstanding, so we hope to return and enjoy it at a more leisurely pace in the future!
We take the Leavenworth Snow Train every holiday season and Visconti's is a part of that tradition. It's a lovely respite from the hub bub of Leavenworth. Great food and wine as well. So glad that they are a part of Open Table as a snow train day w/o a reservation is not a good idea. :)
Went here for a romantic evening with my fiancee and was rather disappointed with the service and the food. It was not bad. But it wasn't anything to rave about either. And we both felt very rushed. We even noticed one of the wait staff telling their fellow wait staff to back off when they came and took our dishes away when apparently the other person had that section. Rather strange when the dishes all go to the same place. My food (Ravioli de Carne) was actually pretty good. Not great but definitely good. My fiancee's however was very disappointing. She got the mushroom and chicken fettuccini. It was very watery and tasted like overcooked chicken and mushrooms sauteed in cream of mushroom sauce. We also had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was so so. Very tomato based and not enough balsamic vinegar. Overall, it was a decent meal but I'm not sure if I'd go back or recommend it.
The food was very good! Reservations are a must as we were seated rightaway. Overall service was good and the wait staff was very freindly and professional. :) They were out of clams on a Sunday night which was a disappointment. :(
My husband and I were seated at the best table for two in the entire restaurant (#13 on the 2nd floor) which looked down the main street with all the beautiful Christmas lights. Our server (Ryan) was very personable, professional and efficient. We had the rack of lamb and the veal medallions - both of which were delicious. The atmosphere was outstanding and very holiday oriented. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for a delightful dining experience.
The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive...the ambiance was really nice and had a very romantic feeling to it...the food was incredible! I had the drizzled spinach w/prosciutto pasta and it was outstanding. Definitely well worth the money
We had an absolutely fantastic experience. Leavenworth was packed this weekend and Visconti's handled it like pros.
The food? Just bad. The service? Just bad. The decor? Just bad. My suggestion? Just keep driving to Seattle.
We weren't taken to a table at our reservation time because the place was really busy, however they did accomodate our request for a table by a window with a view. We had the oven roasted prawns and they were delicious. Great experience
We always enjoy Visconti's when we are in Leavenworth and were able to eat outside for lunch. Unfortunately we think the waitperson was covering everyone as we waited far too long for our food to arrive and the restaurant was far from full.
In Leavenworth for half marathon. Did my prerace carbo load here. Pasta was delicious. Flavors were fantastic. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Will return.
Went on my first date here and had a amzing time good food and good service! for ever a memory
Wife and I went for our 21st Anniversary, which I told them about when I made the reservations. I requested a table for 2 by a window or with a little privacy. Not only did they not mention our anniversary, but they sat us in the back middle of the floor. A table for 2 turned out to be a small patch of table top, big enough to hold glasses, but not much else. The closest window was several yards away and we were crowded on all sides. Our neighbor table was a party of 12 that had, quite clearly, been using alcohol most of the afternoon. The food was cold, the beer selection minimal, and the wait staff rushed and over booked on tables. There are better places to eat in Leavenworth.
Wonderful experience! We look forward to enjoying a meal there at each visit to Leavenworth. It's the high point!!!!
We asked that eight people get out in an hour and they did it graciously.
Reliably good Italian food and service. This last visit on two occasions people came up and asked how our dinners were. Neither identified themselves as employees nor were in any kind of uniform. We had to ask who they were (one was the restaurant manager).
I cannot say enough about the food here. First of all, the bread and the dipping oil were amazing and I could have eaten this all night. In fact I did order a second dipping oil. We shared the Calamari Pesto appetizer - WOW !! Unbelievable! This could be a main course over pasta or even just on its own. Use some bread to dip into the pesto. My husband had the Puttanesca with prawns and I had the Spaghetti with Prawns as our entrees. Both our meals were fantastic. Our service was perfect - we had a wonderful evening.
Be sure to try the cured meat from Visconti's own salumeria. We had their Brasaola, and it was heavenly. You can buy salamis downstairs if you still have craving for it. Visconti's also own the gelato shop downstairs.
