I am a former partner in a restaurant (Metrazur-Grand Central Station NYC), so I rarely write reviews unless I feel that a restaurant has promise and needs a little help to be truly excellent. The service was uniformly very good, but there is a disconnect between the waitstaff and the kitchen. The waitstaff suggested my pork chop be prepared medium rare and I agreed, but the chop arrived medium (although still juicy and flavorful). In fact, the use of different textures and spices is one of the strengths of the restaurant. We were a party of four and 3 of us including myself ordered the "cioccolato" for desert. Mid way through this intensely flavored desert, I encountered something about 1 inch long and very hard. When I spat it discreetly into my spoon, it looked like a pit (cacao?) and I warned the others in my party to be careful. None of them had foreign objects or pits. So the bottom line is this: The kitchen needs to tighten up because if Virtu Honest Craft aspires to be an important presence in Scottsdale (but maybe they don't), they need to monitor their product more closely. I'll probably go back in a year and see how they've progressed before recommending them to a friend.
Everything was amazing!! Food, service, atmosphere all were great. If you can get a reservation this is a home run.
Beautiful restaurant with impeccably plated food. The portions don’t seem large, but they’re hearty and rich. Go with the wine pairing for sure! Great experience and excellent, tasty food.
Great food, great wine pairings, great setting. Will visit again when next in Phoenix.
This is our second time to Virtu and we loved it even more the second time. The quality of the food is top notch an combined with such an intimate seething and service, it is one of our favorite restaurants in the country. We’ll be back.
It is our 44th anniversary and the first time eating out in over a year. We are always very happy with all aspects of our experience. I am a very good cook and Virtu is a place where I know I will get a meal and experience beyond my expectations and abilities. You will experience cuisine, not food. It is relaxed, and staff are always helpful and knowledgeable.
As always... a fabulous experience! They never cease to impress and make every dinner special.
Romantic and cozy
Food is very good
Service is excellent
We were on a reunion trip to Scottsdale, my first time visiting. I went with two of my friends who love to eat and we wanted a place where we could just sit and relax and enjoy each other’s company, while eating scrumptious food.We chose to dine outside because of Covid. The cocktail menu was excellent with spins on traditional drinks made from their extensive amaro menu.I chose their version of a Manhattan which is my favorite drink. The menu gives you a selection of three courses, that is prix fixe. We chose three different appetizers including the Pulpo with chickpeas and lemon. It was the highlight of the meal. I also had their branzino served with Farro. I did not like the raisins in the farro as I thought it made it too sweet and did not complement the branzino as well as I thought it would. I did however like the crispy skin on the fish and thought the fish was seasoned very well. They accommodated my dairy allergy very nicely as well as my request to put pork products on the side. I will definitely return to this restaurant.
I had to rate it low since we weren’t aware that the menu is only fixed price. They sent us to their pizza restaurant which was good and good servers but not what we were expecting for our dinner
Terrible food. Overcooked our meal. Dessert was not good either. Our server was great.
Excellent choice for intimate dinner with friends or special occasion. Expensive but worth every bite. The quality of service and food was extraordinary a real culinary experience. The wine pairing was exceptional experience ordered with each course in confidence that our waiter knew exactly which went best with our meal. I felt I was transformed into little Italy. I had the duck eggs with asparagus and entre duck egg with spaghetti superb and flavorful. The dessert was heavenly. My meal had flavor and freshness in every bite. Can't go wrong with any choice!
Great food, great service. Pool filter noise from pool on nearby rooftop was distracting. Some music would be a nice add. Overall a great experience.
Lovely evening. Ate inside which was a bit dark. Would go again in a heartbeat. Pork and duck excellent as was the groin octopus. Dessert was dangerously good!
Great location, great service, great food, great wine. Knowledgeable servers. What else do you need to know. Go you wont regret it. We will be back soon.
Great restaurant. Food was so tasty and our server was awesome.
Food is incredible!
We had a wonderful time at Virtu Honest Craft. The outdoor patio was beautiful and quiet. It felt like we were sitting in a bistro in Europe. The service was attentive and our server was very knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our food. My husband had the scallop small plate and duck entree, I had the octopus small plate and Branzino entree. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully prepared. We opted for the wine pairings which went very well with each course. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
It was superb and exceeded our expectations. The entire experience was excellent. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was so delicious one of the best meals we have had in town. Highly recommended
Wonderful brunch and outstanding service as always!!
Slightly disappointed with the food
What a wonderful dining experience we had at Virtu Honest Cafe. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and excellent food and drinks :) Wonderful sport for a special occasion.
Our meal was wonderful. Our server was not particularly personable. Compared to past servers we have had, I felt that our server was just doing a job. He did not seem to delight in his work. He was very good, but not excellent.
Great ! The burrata and branzino were phenomenal
Birthday dinner with my wife was excellent. Had the duck and branzino recommended by our waiter and they were both phenomenal.
Amazing food and cocktails!
We had the best time at Virtu! We did the wine pairing along with the food and our server Ivan was so knowledgeable and friendly. The food was some of the best we’ve had; you could tell the amount of thought that was put into each dish. Definitely must go if you’re in the area!!!
My husband wanted to try this place. I hadn’t read much about it, but the prix fixe dinner sounded like a great way to taste menu items. Our server seemed to be going through the motions. He wasn’t friendly, made no suggestions to help with wine or cocktails, and was reciting the same thing to all of the tables around us. So right off the bat, I didn’t feel like our service was going to be on par with other spendy restaurants in the area. Pacing and food delivery was good. The food was all fine, but for the money-$75 for 3 courses, I expected more in the way of taste and finesse. I had the burrata and my husband had octopus. Octopus was good and had a smoky flavor. Burrata was good, but it had a huge hunk of bread in a bowl with the cheese, a sweet fruity sauce, and prosciutto. While good, it was a heavy starter and not special. For entrees we had pork chop and the branzino. The fish dish was lovely, prepared perfectly, and tasted great. The pork chop was overcoooked, dry, and the presentation was brown and boring. There was a fig sauce and a goat cheese purée with it on the plate. Seemed like a fall dish. There was some bulgar underneath which tasted fine but was more brown. No vegetables anywhere. I make a better pork chop at home and I don’t usually order pork when we go out, but I had high hopes and trust that everything would be amazing and it wasn’t. Dessert was a chocolate sticky toffee cake with gelato. I make this at home with a delicious toffee sauce and again, it was just ok, not amazing. I wanted to be impressed and enjoy our splurge night, but overall this place didn’t do that. For the money, I’d spend a little more and go to Csfe Monarch.
this is my favorite place to escape the noise of life. The food is fabulous with gorgeous presentation and the outdoor ambiance is incredible.
Great food and ambiance; however, our server, Evan, seemed very brusque and rolled his eyes several times. Felt like we were always causing him an imposition. Don’t know if he was having a bad day, or what the problem was… we did have one person in the party with some dietary needs, but I can’t see how asking questions about the menu should result in such a rude experience.
Overall it was a great evening and we had a very nice time. The service was super and the food better than good. The price though was a little out of line. We had a steak for two off the fixed price menu. When we got the bill we saw that there was a $25 per person up charge for the steak. It was in the fine print on the menu. The dinner was already $75 each for three courses (appetizer, entree and desert) plus an up charge of $25 for wine parings (three 3 oz pours). That's $250 for two persons total which we thought was overpriced. That said we would go back again but this time we probably would not get the steak or the wine parings and get a bottle of wine instead.
Great dinner and great service!
This is our usual restaurant for entertaining. This particular evening we had two birthday celebrations and made reservations for 6. They placed us in a bit of an alcove outside that would accommodate 6. It was hot. No air flow. Not the best. Also, we were informed upon seating that there was a 2 hour time limit on our table. If needed, we would move to another area with some bench seating that it used for drinks and talking. The food as usual was very good. Service was good. I would have preferred not to have a time limit for dinner. It was a birthday celebration for two people. We ran over a little but we left for the next reservation to be filled. Overall the food and service were good.
The polpo appetizer was amazing and the branzino was equally delicious. Great service and cocktails. Highly recommended all around.
Great! Fantastic food! Excellent choice of pairings!
We were celebrating our 42cd anniversary. The entire experience was great!
I always get the octopus which is fabulous but it was overcooked this time!
My husband kept getting splashed from pool on roof
First restaurant visit since BCE (before COVID era). Prix-fixe menu was as great as ever, I wanted one of everything. Service was exemplary.
Mother’s Day brunch ! Quite lively and lovely
ow, I was absolutely impressed with the food, cocktails and service. My mom was blown away but their version of french toast, while I was amazed with both the "Ice Queen" and "Amante Appassionato" which were both well balance between sweet but strong; you won't really taste the liquor but you'll feel it right away. The "Bistecca Tagliata" was a behemoth of a dish because it was also served with garlic fries rather than "shrubbery". It is a plate fit for two people but, honestly I think one person can eat the entire steak alone as I did. Everything was just five stars for me here, even though we sat outside and they had to adjust the umbrellas to keep us in the shade it was still an amazing experience.
