Charming, intimate space with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside as we dined in the summer months. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and helpful with both wine and menu selections. Understandably, It is not an extension menu. Every item has a unique touch and ingredients. We chose three delicious items to share. It was plenty of food as we are somewhat light eaters. Our selections included the very tender octopus, the very flavorful veal meatballs with pasta and the out of this world duck breast. We chose a New Zealand white wine, but only because we felt like something refreshing. A nice red blend would have stood up well to our meal. And of course we had to try the boudino dessert. Will definitely return. One last note....my friend tried a fantastic mezcal cocktail that had quite a kick. So delicious!
We're locals and chose to stay at the Bespoke Inn 2 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. We enjoyed dinner one night and brunch the next. This will be our new go to breakfast place, especially when we have guests in town!
Great place great value great service
Virtu Honest Craft is one of the best restaurants in Arizona. It offers true creativity. We had scorpion fish from Australia. How often do you see that? Everything was superbly prepared and the service was excellent. Very highly recommended!

This place lives up to all the hype. The ambiance, the food and the service was perfect!
Food was ok, service was slow. I ordered smoked duck, which consisted of three small slices of duck, with a thin layer of fat that had not been rendered properly. The flavor of the meat was ok, but the layer of fat really ruined the dish. Doesn't the chef know that a bit of heat at the end will create an incredibly tasting crispy skin? The duck was served on a large mound of figs, which were so sweet they tasted like candy. A couple of bites were ok, but the sweetness got old quickly. There was nothing else on the plate, no starch or vege.
My wife had scallops, which she thought were ok, but once again the sauce was cloying. Our waiter must have been busy with other tables, because we sat for long periods between first and second and third courses.
Pros: excellent server. Nice food presentation. Octopus very tender ( but overly seasoned). Scallops were very good but broth was over salted. Mashed potatoes under pork chop were very good with exceptional sauce. Outdoor dining area is beautiful. Cons: very noisy inside, almost distracting. Tables seemed crammed into existing space. My chair was constantly being bumped. Food overly salted and overly seasoned in general. Pork chop looked great but was tough.
We enjoyed a vegan meal especially prepared for us by the chef. It was delicious.
I really wanted to love this place, but I was disappointed with the food. The octopus and the wine selection were amazing. However, the veal pasta was weirdly sour. The sauce tasted like vinegar. The duck and beans were under cook.
Server was friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable about their ever-changing menu and wine offerings. All their recommendations were amazingly delicious. Wish we lived in Scottsdale so we could eat here often.
Been here several times for dinner, and just tried brunch. It's a winner! Virtu is still one of the best restaurants in Scottsdale.
Depending on what time of year you go to Virtu seating is either better indoor or outdoor. While the indoor is nice, with the coming of the heat the doors are closed and the restaurant can become quite loud (surprisingly so). The outdoor seating is the more desirable and competes reasonably with Cafe Monarch in terms of charm and elegance. It is without question the preferred seating if the weather permits. The food is always excellent and like Cafe Monarch and Sel, Napa Valley comes to mind. Portions are small and European, flavors and creativity are large. Service was excellent from our waiter (or is it "server"?). Like the aforementioned restaurants you are not going here to get a bargain. You are paying for the culinary experience. It is pricey with a meal for two with a modest wine in the $150-$200 range. Will I go there again. Absolutely and I have! If more of these sorts of restaurants pop up in Old Town it will become not only an arts destination but a culinary one.

Absolute perfect place for a romantic dinner date! The Ambiance cannot be beat. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and very friendly. The food was amazing! Roast duck had incredible depth of taste (smoky and earthy), the bream was cooked perfectly, the octopus appetizer was amazing, not to mention all the various delicious sides items and sauces that get served with each plate. The dessert menu looked insanely good, although on this particular night me and my date elected to walk around Old Town looking for an ice cream instead. We will definitely try some dessert options next time we visit Virtu!
Consistently exceptional in all aspects. A very creative menu, with high quality ingredients, very well executed and with fantastic hospitality.
Lovely private restaurant tucked away from the tourist traps. Beautifully prepared dishes without coming across too fussy. Very good value. We will be back!

Adorable little place with outstanding cuisine and service! Crespella and grilled octopus for brunch was delicious and unique. The attention to detail, and locally sourced ingredients was much appreciated. Can’t wait to go back!

Food not as good during restaurant week vs. last time we were there. Perhaps it was because last time was a weekday (less busy) and this time was a sunday eve??? Pork chop very tasty, but over cooked. Same for duck. Sea Bream was excellent. Octopus terrific as was polenta.

My husband and I went for my birthday. We did not know it was restaurant week. While the food was very good and the setting was beautiful, our server was not at all friendly. He seemed annoyed with everyone at his tables. Due to the lack of service we received, we likely will not return.

We had a great experience. We sat outside on a nice 80 degree evening and that was the best.

OMG....I have no words to describe this dining experience other than exceptional! This is a rare opportunity to enjoy exceptionally crafted flavors and meticulously prepared foods. Unbelievable culinary experience and I am a more complete person for having participated. I did not know this was a bucket list meal....but it was! I will never be the same!!! Our meals during Arizona Restaurant Week were wonderful! The veal with black garlic was the favorite but the smoked duck with grilled peaches was also great. We tried the butterscotch dessert and the chocolate sticky pudding with salted caramel gelato and both were fabulous! Our server, Kelsey, is a treasure! We'll definitely be back!

Chef Gio never disappoints! The food, ambience and service at Virtu remind me of European dining. It would be easy to forget that we are in Scottsdale because the feel is more old world. All of our dishes were excellent, but the Sticky Toffee cake with Salted Caramel ice cream was other worldly!

Ambiance and service were as expected. Ordered a vodka soda but was given tonic. The server quickly fixed the error. The polenta was unremarkable. The veal was cooked to medium as recommended by the chef but was rather dry and the farinata was flavorless. The Polpo was tender but very salty, but the sauce was good. The Italian coffee was absolutely delicious as was the sticky toffee chocolate cake. I would recommend going for desert, but the first two courses were unimpressive.
This dinner at Virtu was one of the better meals I've had in a long time. We went for Restaurant Week ($44 for a three-course meal) and it was really a remarkable experience. At the recommendation of our server, we started with the grilled octopus with chickpeas and Calabrian chile butter. Awesome! It was not part of the Restaurant Week menu, but it was an excellent addition and it is a must-try dish. Then, we continued with a couple of starters off the special menu -- a swordfish skewer and a polenta dish -- both of which were fabulous. For dinner, we had the roasted duck dish (with charred peaches, etc.) and the sea bass dish (which came with sunchokes, chorizo, etc) and, again, they were both amazing. Finally, the desserts.....oh, the desserts. We had the butterscotch pudding and the chocolate cake. Tough to say which was better, but they were both fantastic. And, on top of the food, I will say the service was exceptional. The servers at Virtu clearly grasp the concept of service and we had a number of different employees who were happy to help clear plates, bring new plates, explain the various dishes, and take drink orders. Stellar service all the way around. We'll be back!
