Great service but the food was cold and we weren’t expecting everything to be fried so hard. Incredibly sweet service though!
The staff was exceptionally kind and service was great. A good southern experience. Parking is hell, so walk if you can.
Stopped in here for brunch without a reservation, they were very busy but got us seated in five minutes. Server was friendly, out going and met very need we had. The deviled eggs may have been the best I've ever had. Omelets were great as was the chicken and eggs. Everything was so good we went back the next day, something we never do went out of town. While the food is really good, it's the service that sets it a part from other restaurants.
Food was fantastic! My wife had the Grits Bowl and I had the Chicken and Eggs - would definitely recommend both. Tim was our server - he was fabulous - ask for him on your next visit - you will not be disappointed!
Great chicken and waffles, crab Benny and the bloody Mary’s were fantastic.
It was my first time at Virginia’s. My wife and daughter insisted, since they too love your place.
The food was amazing. I highly recommend the fried chicken and mac and cheese. I'm pretty sure that was the best mac and cheese EVER! Staff was very sweet and food was delivered to our table nice and hot. A very small restaurant so I'd make a reservation, which we had done, if you decide to try it out.
very loud in small space; the ambiance wasn’t great having thanksgiving dinner with people eating eggs for brunch. thanksgiving dinner itself was good, but gravy and lack of dark meat(which we ordered, but got all white). we did order extra gravy and were charged $2. the whole experience was ok; i’d look elsewhere first.
Awesome example of true Southern Hospitality! Ashley was just awesome- friendly, helpful and efficient! During my visit from CT, I visited twice- enjoyed both the grit bowl (grits, scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon) and the meatloaf sandwich. Quality and quantity of food are both impressive! Thank you!
Virginia’s has an amazing shrimp & grits. It was the best I had in Charleston. All the food was delicious and the service was superb.
We are in Charleston for a couple of days. Virginia’s on King came highly recommended for it’s good Low Country cooking. The food was really good. The fried chicken is my favorite.
We were in Charleston for 4 days . Breakfast for 3 of those days, were at Virginia’s. The food and service was excellent. Glad we made a reservation for Saturday morning’s meal; people were being turned away.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
Virginia is a joy to talk to
Food wasn't good (except the collards). Dinner came before appetizers. Wasn't a lot the server could do, no fault of hers. Fried chicken was very disappointing. Dark meat for $24. Too many good restaurants in town to give it another chance. Won't be back.
Food was delicious!
My guest was a first time visitor to VK. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and experience.
The hospitality was very warm and gracious. I arrived with a reservation. Unfortunately the pancake I ordered was dry and burned around the edges. The « Hot tea » was served in an open vessel and so did not stay warm. I could get a better breakfast in a number of places,
Wonderful food and service! I will definitely come back if I am in the area again!
Our Waitress tried hard, but took forever to get food and mine was cold and adequate at best. It was a busy Friday PM, and I know everyone is having a hard time finding help, but sorry to say, this was not a good experience. Had not been there in quite a few years, won't be back soon.
Great food, helpful staff, excellent service.
We always enjoy coming here when visiting Charleston!.Love that we can make a reservation!
Ashley our server was amazing!
Excellent chicken and waffles!
Best breakfast in downtown Charleston. Definitely recommend making reservation in advance.
Food was amazing!! Service was very friendly and helpful.
Waitress was great and had wonderful recommendations. Service was quick and food was amazing!
Large portions, but food is not very good. I had crab cakes - more breading than crab. My husband’s shrimp and grits were lumpy, thick, and not very flavorful. Service was not attentive or helpful. We did not enjoy our dinner at your restaurant.
The food and service here are amazing. I thought every part of my meal was phenomenal. I had the chicken and egg with cheese grits, wife had shrimp and grits. Soooo good!
I had a great food experience here, and would definitely recommend it to others. The service was fantastic too! I ordered the Stuffed French Toast with fruit and side of bacon. The wait was short and the food was delicious. Pleasantly surprised on the generous portion of fresh fruit.
As always, everything was just perfect!
Warm greetings upon entry, prompt friendly service, excellent food. Very happy we went!
We were very disappointed in the food. The salmon came out very overdone and dry and the seafood platter had very little flavor. The Mac and cheese was great. The server was attentice but never asked if the meal was okay or why we didn't eat 90% of it. We ordered deviled eggs as an appetizer which never came to the table. The slavery pictures on the wall are off putting and offensive. I doubt we will return.
Great service and the food was good.
Yummy food and a wonderful retreat from the outside. Thankful we had reservations or we would not have been seated. Very quaint and wuiet with the food as the highlight.
The food and service was fabulous. Skylar was an attentive server and we felt welcome.
Late Breakfast on vacation
Food was good, but wow was it heavy. Large portions too. Nothing crazy unique. Grits are great, and the fried chicken an obvious favorite.
It was freezing in the restaurant, it made the whole experience unpleasant as you needed to keep a winter jacket on to eat. They should put the heat on when it's 50 degrees outside.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Virginia’s on King. I had the Farmer’s omelet, hash browns and rye toast. It was delicious. The portion size was huge. Our waitress was lovely. She went out of her way to make us comfortable. She was cheerful and very helpful. She offered a sample of one of the sauces when my friend wasn’t sure if she’d like it. I would definitely recommend Virginia’s on King for brunch.
Great brunch and supper. Right next to the Bennett.
