She Crab Soup
Sherry, Chives, Espellete
The food and service was amazing, only compliant is that there was a strange smell in the restaurant which threw off the ambiance a bit but other than that, delish, definitely would go again!!
Brunch was delicious!
Great service! Loved the atmosphere and food was delicious
Absolutely delicious food... just the epitome of real southern cooking. The sausage gravy and the chicken fried steak... stop the madness!!! Hubby had the crab cake Benedict, coffee was so dark and perfect.
If you don’t go here for breakfast I feel bad for you.
Delicious food and wonderful service. I come here every time I’m in town
We got there just as they opened for weekend brunch. The staff was welcoming and made the dining experience so enjoyable. our coffees were always topped off, and any requests we made were seen to immediately. My chicken fried steak they must put syrup in the batter or something, because a little powdered sugar & strawberries were the perfect addition to the already slightly sweet and mapley pancakes.
This is the second time I’ve been to Virginia’s, and the experience mirrors my previous experience. This is definitely toward the top of my list of weekend brunch spots.
BTW, we’re a HUGE fan of their Fried Green Tomatoes; almost as good as my mom’s...almost.
Met my niece who lives in Charleston . Good food , friendly service .
Great experience for patio dining
They serve brunch on Sundays past 11, which is sometimes hard to find. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly, great mimosas and a good selection of southern breakfast. Great central location on King street and being able to book on OpenTable made everything seamless. A really nice Sunday brunch!
We liked Virginia's on King enough to go twice in a 3 day period for lunch/brunch time period. Food was good, atmosphere, location and service were all very good. No part of the experience was so outstanding to make us come back, but the whole experience was. This appears a Mon & Pop restaurant and the proprietor takes pride. Prices were competitive and shrimp & grits was better than the "name" restaurants we went for dinner. Highly recommend for a relaxing, low key meal with great ambiance.
Nestled on beautiful King Street, Virginia's on King boasts Southern recipes from a true Southern lady, Virginia Bennett. The fried chicken was excellent, but the true gem is the sides. The vidalia onion casserole is what dreams are made of -- creamy, sweet and decadent filled with fresh vidalias. The macaroni and cheese was amazing, and I never think any restaurant's mac and cheese outshines my own. Would love to visit again.
Our waiter was fantastic and the food was wonderful!!!! I would highly recommend
Was better years ago. Service was forgetful. Food had some amazing bits and some just ordinary. Could do better.
The food was amazing. The service was outstanding.
Such a classic, wonderful place. The food is delicious and the staff is so attentive. When I accidentally left my credit card, a staff member literally chased me two blocks down in the heat to return it. Little things matter and I hope Virginia's stays around for many more years to come. It is quintessential Charleston.
Food was amazing, waiter was awesome
Tara provides great service and the food was terrific. Highly recommend the chicken biscuit!
Absolutely lovely. My boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves.
This was our first time at this restaurant. The food was great and so was the service. Looking forward to coming back.
Excellent food and service! Very pleased to see social distancing policies taken seriously. Appreciate the owners and management’s dedication to public safety and general concern for their customers and their employees. Our server, Tara was very personable and professional! Loved the local craft beer selections too. Thank you!
Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and couldn’t have been happier. The food was absolutely amazing; fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding. Best mimosa value I’ve ever had; $17 for a carafe that had 7-8 glasses in total. More than we anticipated for just the two of us, but excellent!
I had the Cheddar/Bacon omelette and my BF has the chicken and eggs. I’ve never tasted chicken so good. Definitely recommend the pulley bone chicken breast if you want something truly spectacular. Food was well prepared and service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend this place for brunch!
Great menu option for relative visiting from out of town. All staff wore face coverings and gloves and were courteous throughout the entire meal. The food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time from being ordered. We will definitely be back!
I haven't been to Virginia's in a while but so glad I went.
Delicious food- highly recommended :)
Tomato soup was so salty that we couldn’t even eat it and they didn’t take it off the bill after we told the server. The house salad had no flavor at all...tasted like water. The server was very forget. Had to remind her multiple times for things we asked for. I wouldn’t go back.
Pimento cheese and blt sandwich was amazing! Highly recommend and great service for Sunday brunch.
Octavia our server was wonderful. So helpful and friendly. Attentive but not too much. Our brunch was soooo good! The shrimp and grits so flavorful, the chicken, eggs and biscuit was amazing, pancakes were lite and fluffy, the egg bowl was yummy, the Charleston Cuban was delicious and the crab Benny was so full of crab and tasty. Oh and the Bloody Marys were just the right amount of spicy. All in all a wonderful meal! Highly recommend.
Delicious food and great service. We will definitely be back!
I went totally Southern, fried chicken, collards, grits, banana pudding. Everything was fantastic, bringing back memories of my mom and grandmom's cooking. Staff was great.
Lets start with the good, the Pimento cheese appetizer was very good and enjoyed by all. In general an ok place, but we were seated relatively close to the door and got chills every time the door opened. Service was lackluster. Ordered brunch and found the food to be fairly basic. Would never order the pancakes again. Served luke warm, dry and had to ask for syrup and they give you a tiny bit for 2 plate size cakes. Waiter raved about the home fries and they were good, but plain and serving size was on the small side. Likely won't be a first choice for us in the future.
Excellent attentive service and delicious Southern homestyle cooking. Reasonably priced too!
Amazing and I’ll be back again! The food, customer service, and view were excellent
Awesome food and service. Loved the Grits!
We wanted a restaurant in walking distance with southern cuisine. Virginia’s has it all!
Warmly greeted when we arrived. Appetizer of pimento cheese, crackers and cucumbers was good - nothing spectacular but solid. Cocktails were good. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and it was good but the two sides - green beans and mashed potatoes were not not even luke warm - had they been hot they might have been better. I ordered the Tuesday night fried chicken. It was a huge serving of chicken but just OK - nothing great. My sides - collard greens and mashed potatoes - were disappointing. They were served at room temperature and the flavor was just meh. I gave the experience 4 stars because of the service, ambience and value.
It seemed only one waiter was actually waiting tables while the other 3-4 wandered around.
Inviting space with nice, competent servers. Brunch was nothing spectacular but dinner menu sounds wonderful. Will try for dinner.
