Good food and good drinks
Great ribs. Most dishes were good. Service could be better. Waiter got one order completely wrong
Ribs great, Mac N Cheese Great, Brisket Great. Service with Juan also GREAT! Native NY’er and love coming here. Took 3 friends for their first time and they LOVED. Great pre theater dining.
Ribs were tough, chicken was cold. Salad was delicious. Too much money for subpar service and food. Very disappointed.
We were surprised to find BBQ this good just steps away from Times Square. the die hard BBQ fans in our group were skeptical until they tried the food. From appetizers to sides to main dishes, everything was great. The portions are really big, so next time we will consider sharing. The restaurant is a little loud, so if you are looking for a quiet date night, this is not the place for you.
Looking forward to my next business trip. Virgil's is now on my NYC favorites list!
Great service and great food everything you can ask for.
We’ve been to Virgil’s quite a few times and have never left dissatisfied. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys BBQ!!
Our group really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. The food was excellent!
3rd time to New York, 4th time to Virgil’s. Never disappoints, food outstanding and we got served this time by David. His knowledge of the food & beer was further complimented by his gracious and accommodating approach to our group of 7. I couldn’t not recommend him and Virgil’s to anyone, best place off time square by a country mile! P.s their baby back ribs were as some of us brits say, cushty!
My guest was super impressed with the wings and the ribs.
Loved the strawberry lemonade
I usually love Virgil BBQ Brisket Sandwich but this time it came out of kitchen Room Temperature, Bah. Waitstaff and Manager were very solicitous and concerned, gave me many Tsk tsks and "oh my"s but did nothing else. One other thing, take Coney Island Root Beer off the menu, meant to be a marriage of beer and root beer...the worst of both worlds. And i ought to know, I am from the Coney Island neighborhood.
good bbq in the theater district. portions are good. prices are fine for the food. desserts are ok nothing great. noisy upstairs slightly quieter downstairs
We are regulars. This was our after-movie dinner. Savannah Salad without any pork and additional avocado slices with Grilled chicken: They have improved the greens’ mix. Grilled chicken was fresh( sometimes is not and it gets dry) Kansas Fried chicken all white meat was on point. The best part was as always Livia. She just remembers what we like and how we liked. Always a pleasure. This is a great joint pre or post shows.
Good barbecue restaurant, service was excelent and helpfull
I was very disappointed having been to Virgil's a few years ago. The food was tepid at best and the sauce on the chicken looked as if he had just been plopped on - just wasn't good. It wasn't even fair to middling....
Loved our server David! And our seat upstairs in front of the big screens! So yummy!
We had a great time. The food was fantastic! They were super accommodating to our party’s needs and we were even taken before our reservation time. We’ll definitely be back!
Service was excellent. Our server Josh was amazing. He was friendly and very informative.
This is not the cheapest place to get ribs in New York, nor is it necessarily the best, but if you are taking a group of teens out to a show on Broadway -- especially if they're boys -- I can't think of anywhere better. It's loud, fun, filling, and fast.
We had a terrific time with delicious food that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Loved the cheddar grits, we got a sampler for 2 for about $50 and a Cesar's salad and split all amongst 3 of us and we were stuffed.
Really tasty, and for 3 to eat for under $100 with tip in times Square and have authentic BBQ, you can't go wrong! Love Virgil's
Our waiter was absolutely disgusting to us. Very rude and rushed us, never came for refills or to ask how our meal was. He also kept disappearing for a long time and we’d have to ask someone else for help!
Easy place to eat when going to the theater. Reasonably priced and quick service in general
Virgil's is our stand-by for before theater dining. It's convenient to Broadway theaters. The menu is barbecue with some more healthy options. (We had the grilled catfish.) They also do a nice chicken fried steak. The sound level can approach boiler room levels, but was moderate the night we were there. They do a big business in crowds. I usually see a couple large groups there and they seem happy. It also looks like they can accommodate kids pretty well, too.
Started with unclean menu with grease all over it, ended with a dry and untasty BBQ. Appetizers were cold. Brisket was passable but rest of the pig out platter might as well be fed to the pigs!
Will never go here again, I gave it the benefit of the doubt, it is owned by Carmine's and I never had a bad meal there.
Sorry to be so blunt!
Good barbecue and the hush puppies are great. I miss the bbq lamb.
We had nachos and a brisket burger. The meat was way too sweet
Virgil's never disappoints. I have been going here over 20 years and the food is consistently great. Their pulled pork is the best I've ever had.
Mediocre food. Tasted like warmed up BBQ. I expected better
Excellent food. Bid portions. Great service. Highly recommended.
