Virgil's Real BBQ - New York City
Food was very dry no taste the onion rings or not how they used to be looks like frozen onion rings won’t be coming back
The server and service was really good. The food was good as well. It’s a little noisy but a good crowd. We were not rushed and everything went well considering we were a big group. Overall enjoyable evening.
Holiday trip to NYC.
Kindle and efficiente service. Good food in friendly space
We never got seated , never called our party , asked multiple times told were busy , ended up walking out
Love virgil's. Visit on every trip to NYC. Great food.
BBQ was better than good. It was super crowded which meant service was slow. But our waiter did a solid job once he was able to get to us.
The food service and restaurant size keep us coming back. It’s a great location right in Times Square. You won’t be disappointed and the prices are very good for NYC dining
We loved our server Dee and the food came out quick. Sucks that the bathroom is upstairs...what do wheelchair bound ppl do?
Top Service, gutes Essen!
Great server and amazing food!
We just want to try somewhere new and also enjoy comfort food.
Very disappointing. I would never go back.
Cada año voy a comer allí casi por tradición, y los dos últimos años, las costillas quemadas, una lastima, me encanta este sitio.
Our server david was awesome and the food was great
Service was very good! The barbecue ribs were very salty.
The quality of food changed a lot.
We paid a family visit during the Thanksgiving weekend.Saturday night.Every seat taken, loud but only
Because everyone was enjoying and having fun! A reservation for 10 was made just days before. The service was exceptional, everything on time and authentic delicious bbq!
Nice enough with good service. I’m not a huge meat eater and portion was large. Unfortunately my chicken wasn’t hot so after a bite decided not to eat it in terms of safety. The spare ribs were amazing though very tasty. Everyone else food was good. Our desserts were lovely too. Not a bad price for our meal either. Nice atmosphere and overall very good.
The serving staff was slammed but worked together to keep our dinner flowing. The staff was also very personable.
Food was terrific as was service. Appetizer wings really impressive! Best we ever had!
Thanksgiving dinner .. we came last year and it was outstanding... this year it was Meh... kinda like cold dry leftovers... I know the restaurant was busy but hey ... we had such a great experience last year.. maybe something other than the thanksgiving diner would have been good.. our server was great ... just didn’t like my thanksgiving dinner... sorry...
Great food, great service. 2nd time here and will definitely be back!
I'm a frequent customer, however I was truly disappointed in the service and food I received that day.
Very good thanksgiving dinner for our family of 8 excellent service great food will definitely be coming back our next trip to net York city
Food is very good an and tasty. The tables are too close together for my liking and the place is rammed. Felt rushed.
Top diner! Thnx FlexFirst from the Netherlands
Was in town for the Thanksgiving day parade. Service was very good. Hospitality was excellent. Would come back again
Be sure to have a reservation! We had to wait even though we had one. If a quiet, romantic dinner is what you want, this may not be the location for you. It is a high-energy establishment. The serving sizes was more than adequate for us. Our server was friendly and attentive. Glad we heard of Virgil’s and will return.
Virgil's consistently delivers fine BBY in the heart of the theater district. The prices are high, but what else is new in NYC? One crucial comment is that the entre for one of us was not brought with everyone else's, resulting in one member of our group having to wait another 10 minutes. The server debated whether in fact she had ordered anything. A complimentary dessert or drink would have been appreciated regarding this SNAFU.
Never fails to be the best xx drinks n dinner with the best of friends x best drinks and the best food and best Staff xx
The pulled pork bbq and sauce was very good. A little over cooked but very good. Baked beans & Mac & cheese were very good....not your standard fare. My wife had a brisket sandwich and it was not good! Way too fatty. Also the sautéed onions on it really do not complement the sandwich. She also had fries as a side and I’d give them a generous 3 on a scale of 5.
Overall the experience at Virgil’s was great, I just couldn’t recommend the brisket.
Slow service. Food is ok, Dinosaur BBQ is a better option.
This place is completely overrated. It’s loud, noisy, tables are crammed together and the food is mediocre - at best. We ordered pretty straightforward meals and they were all blah - and something as routine as French fries were stone cold. We ordered the cheesecake and banana pudding for desert - the cheesecake was dull and the banana pudding was honestly the worst I have EVER had. We will not be going back to Virgils ever again.
The meat was so fatty I had to cut half of it away. The chicken underdone. The service was poor and it was so loud and the tables so close together that we heard the whole conversation at the table next to us as if they were sitting with us. I went there years ago when they first opened and enjoyed our meal. We will never go back, it was overpriced for horrid food.
Food was good but service felt rushed
I love Virgil’s so this is hard for me to say. The food was mediocre. There was nothing special, the chili was watered down the chips were good. The ribs so, so as well as the pulled pork. I ordered the kids rib dinner for my son to go 2 little ribs. The Mac & cheese was good once I got it home and added some s&p & butter. The cornbread, the biscuits and the flat dog were delicious. I asked if I could get the mustard slaw instead of the coke slaw & they told me no. I will only get take out to bring home to dock it up!
One of my favorite NYC restaurants. Always delicious.
I took three kids for lunch, pre Saturday matinee at the Winter Garden. Service was prompt and courteous. We were in and out in about 80 minutes. Starters pulled pork nachos and onion rings both delicious and good for sharing. Ribs are not Texas or Carolina quality but good for Times Square! Two kids shared a T-bone steak, which made its price of $40 more tolerable. It’s a solid place, especially for groups, if a bit overpriced.
Reliable for a quick pre-matinee lunch. I recommend making a reservation because a line forms pretty quickly at peak times. Friendly and efficient service and good food. Love the hush puppies with maple butter!
Great as always and conveniently located across the road from our hotel. We always have the pig out platter and enjoy it but all the food looks great.
