Virago Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service and a fun foodie menu. Started with the rock shrimp appetizer, amazing! Melt in your mouth! Ordered the hot rock hamachi, again, a winner! Accompanied my meal with the wasabi martini, not overpowering, but just right. Easy valet parking. Sundays are quiet with 1/2 price wine and saki bottles under $100.
It was a fun birthday dinner.
Virago was wonderful. This is the second time we’ve been, and since we loved it so much the first time, we decided to celebrate our anniversary here. The sushi rose was an amazing touch. Great food as always. They have slimmed down the menu a bit, but there were several new items to try as well.
My wife and I were on a date night and wanting sushi. The food was tasty but the kitchen was a little dysfunctional. Three of the sushi rolls we ordered were wrong and had to be sent back multiple times to get right. One of the rolls was never made right but we ended up eating it because we were tired of complaining. The food is pricey for the quality. The service was great but Nashville has better sushi options for the price.
Virago is one of our favorite spots to eat when we visit Nashville. The Scottish Salmon is some of the best I've had and the sushi never disappoints. Our server was especially great this time and went out of her way to accommodate us. I honestly receive some of the best service every time we come. We cannot wait to come back to Nashville just so we can dine at Virago. We hope that you will consider opening one in Chattanooga :)
My husband booked this reservation for my birthday. We religiously book MStreet restaurants for birthdays and anniversaries. We both ordered the sushi tour. Mine was served 25 min before my husbands. I had to ask 4 times before his ever showed up. When we were done with our meal, we waited another 35 minutes before we ever saw a server or anyone else to ask for a check or dessert menu. By this point we were both so fed up that we just asked for the check, which took another 20 min. The server did ask if we wanted to share a dessert or coffee or anything else, even though they were perfectly apprised it was a special occasion. Horrible, poor experience, and from now on we will take our business elsewhere for special occasions.
Fabulous evening. Wonderful views on the deck with lots of energy and atmosphere. The service was the best as always and the food is the best sushi in town. We had a wonderful time and were attended to in an inviting manor. One of our go to places especially on nice evenings.
When we sat down for dinner, I notified our waiter that I had a honey allergy and mentioned that sometimes honey is used in sauces. He said that he talked to everyone and I was good to eat the food we ordered. I repeated asked about every dish he brought, just to make sure. The waiter assured me that there was no honey in anything we ordered. As soon as we were done with the appetizer the manager came up and said that one of the dishes had honey in it. I was lucky that it was a very small amount, which was remedied by us going to the CVs and getting anti-histamines. We are from out of town and had to take an uber to CVS. Definitely a scary experience, especially considering we are from out of town.
We were happy to find that bottles of wine were 50% off for our Sunday celebration. We were able to order a nice sparkling wine for this birthday, and not break the bank. The food as always was great, except that the Crispy Brussel Sprouts were much saltier than we remembered. maybe a bit too much fish sauce. Service was very good and our server stayed in conversation with us as we added and took away menu choices.
I am "almost" a Nashville native so I remember when Virago opened. It continues to be one of my favorites that is not jam packed by tourists or the "shiny penny" for foodies. I always bring out of town guests here and it is big enough that the reservations don't book up in advance. The food is tasty and it is still a beautiful place to eat - especially that patio. Claire (sp?) our server was fantastic. I don't often get to say that about servers in Nashville. What a nice surprise. Looking forward to going back.
