There were four of us for lunch, two who had never been there before. I requested a table next to the window. It was light without sun in our eyes and delightful! The two who had never been there before loved it. We ordered the special of the day and it was very good. It's very unusual setting, being on the top of the Lexus dealership. They have a lanai which is outside eating but no umbrellas. I was happy we ate inside. The bar is beautiful, the service excellent and the food is well presented. The waitress was great and very helpful. They have a wine area with shelves of wine and of course for purchase. Linen table cloths is what we girls like... It was a very pleasant afternoon and I highly recommend it. You have to park on the top level in the sun, just to let first timers know where to park. The parking garage is filled with Lexuses! I have eaten there in the evening and it is romantic with Chandliers and a romantic atmosphere. You can also eat outside. They have fire pits and Happy Hour and a good place for after dinner drinks.
We have been here many times for date night, this was the longest we have had to wait for food, we had an 8o'clock reservation and waited about 5 minutes to be seated, 10 minutes for a waiter, ordered wine and an appetizer wine came quickly appetizer took 30 minutes do not order the crab artichoke dip, weird texture and taste, then it took 30 minutes for our entrees, great food just a lot of waiting and no apology from the staff
Vintana is our Go To place when we want to have a fabulous meal in a wonderful atmosphere. Food is alway spot on, service is over the top and everyone has a team attitude which make eating there a pleasure. If you haven't tried Vintana, pls do, and if you have, you know exactly what I am saying!

It was my girlfriend's wish to try Vintana for dinner on her birthday. We always do a special dinner for that occasion. She wanted to bring along our friend for dinner too. We arrived a few minutes early and were being seated when our reservation time hit ( 7pm ). The dining room was very full, and very bright. Our waiter was prompt, and knew the menu well. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We ordered the Crab and Artichoke Dip and it was really good. The Popovers were OK but the real yummy was the jalapeno-honey butter. I ordered the Lobster Mac-n-Cheese, and it was good. I also ordered a side of Blue Cheese fries and was disappointed at how mild the blue cheese was. GF got the Island Prime Filet Trio and those were amazing. She also got the Prosciutto Asparagus and it was pretty good, several were a bit gummy, but most were good. Our friend got the Flatiron Au Poivre, and said it was good. She got the Brussels Sprouts which smelled horrid ( to me, she loved them ) For dessert we got the bread pudding, and the Key Lime Tart. Both were pretty good.
All in all, it was a good dinner, and very reasonably priced for so much good quality chow.
Had my 75 birthday party in the upstairs show room....awesome in every way. Can't beat this dining experience. Our waitress this week was Jamaica...we give her a ten!
We like Vintana enough to return consistently. I was disappointed in my vegetarian selection a month or so ago, and my excellent server said that the new one was terrific. Oh, my - it was!
Spouse's pork chop was plentiful and flavorful. Another wonderful meal!
Enjoyed the experience, the setting was spectacular, the staff was engaged and energetic, the table setting was right on target. The food is acceptable, you don't really attend this type of a place for the food, it is a Chuckie Cheese / Dave and Busters for mature adults. Plenty of extra glitter, sensory overload, Hey Look at ME !!!, MMFS (Make Me Feel Special !!! ), it satisfies on every level. I attend to entertain clients for thank you' s and dinner , they tell their friends and family and feel this is above and beyond for one night.
I had the Coconut crusted Sea Bass. It lacked flavor but was cool properly. My wife had the special fish dish, stuffed sole, and it too lacked flavor and was slightly under cooked. Maybe their steaks are good??? Don't think we will return.
I don't mind waiting for a table at a good restaurant, but if I make a reservation I expect to be seated promptly, especially if it is a special occasion. On Tuesday when we arrived at our reservation time, we were greeted by a blunt "We're running late". After 30 minutes we left.
My husband and I visited Vintana for the first time on our anniversary. We agreed it was the best restaurant we've been to since we moved to Escondido last year. The food was outstanding! This place is definitely pricey, but you get what you pay for in life. Can't wait to go back!
You would never think of going to a car dealership for dinner but this is a top notch establishment. The room is very inviting, high ceilings, large windows, beautiful table settings. You feel very special being there. The menu is small but has something to please everyone. THe preparation on the food is very professional and eye appealing. THe staff is very knowledgable and helpful. WIll be returning often.
This was my 4th or 5th time to Vintana and my wife really had a great time. The service and food were outstanding. The drink selection is incredible especially the wine and craft beer as this is one of the few places with Lost Abbey on tap. Overall, it was a fantastic dinning experience and we can't wait to go back.
My boyfriend ordered filet minion which was soo tasty and tender! I forget which fish I ordered, but I remember it being so soft at tasty as well! I like their bread poppers (I think that's what they called them) they were light and fluffy and better than your usual bread and butter you start off in other restaurants. We also had a delicious dessert of Mudd Pie which had a chocolate ice cream, yum! It was a good day :-).
Chef Deborah Scott delivers again and again.Impeccable food served beautifully. The restaurant is refined and well worth making a reservation in advance. The outdoor lanai is more energetic with excellent live music. I love having a restaurant of this caliber in North County!
Just a great spot for a lunch or a dinner . Food is always good, specials change as does the menu somewhat, drinks are plentiful, and the outside is very good except ne sure you seek out some shade a noon day sun can be quite HOT!!!
Unique, varied menu. Good ambiance & service. Quiet.
The food was great but the service initially was a little lacking. I
We really enjoyed our first time dining here. The food was all fantastic and the service was even better. A unique and refreshing restaurant for this area. We look forward to coming back!
The desserts were to die for! Sampling several there wasn't one I didn't like! All the hostesses & wait staff were so nice and accommodating. Great experience
What a lovely spot for brunch. We were traveling this past week and had been to one of the other Cohn restaurants and loved it. Decided we would try this one too. Another wonderful place to eat. The staff was terrific. Food was good. A nice touch,,,,the General Manager came by to welcome us.
Father's Day felt even more special spending it high above the Lexus Dealership in Escondido at Vintana. The ambiance was great, the food and service outstanding. This was our third special occasion spent there in the past two years and it was equally fun, festive and enjoyable for us and our guests. Would definitely go again and again, even without a special occasion to celebrate.
We made a reservation at 700pm on Friday for my husband's birthday. He wanted to order Prime Rib, but it was already out! He, instead, ordered New York Steak, but it did not have any flavor and was not tender at all. What a shame Vintana.......Their food was good in the past, though. Our server was a bit off too. The manager and other staff who found a nice table for us....they were very customer oriented so I still gave Vintana 2stars. I am not sure if we would go back again.
Server was nice. Didn't write down our order hense my filet was rare because it was not butterflied. Sent back twice. Meal and 2 deserts were comped.
We have been to Vintana many times and usually enjoy it. However, this time, even though the restaurant was not crowded at a late lunch hour, the service was inferior and not up to the standards of restaurant of this caliber. We had to flag down a server to even get a drink and this is not acceptable.
We feel the wait staff needs some re-training.
We usually ask for one particular server, who was not working that day. Her service has been excellent.
Super friendly and attentive service. Special needs were accommodated without hesitation. Lovely spot for special occasion.
Our visit to Vintana for lunch was everything we expected and more. I had the vegetarian choice which is always awesome. My husband enjoyed one of the new hummus boards with the shrimp and skirt steak skewers. One more time - everything was perfect, including our server "Sam" Samantha. Thanks for making Bill's early Father's Day celebration perfect.
Vintana is one of our favorite places to eat, we like the view, the food, and the decor.
Great location if meeting friends from various areas of San Diego county. Food and wines exceptional, varied menu for all tastes, and a fun view of the Escondido lights at night.
My husband chose Vintana for dinner out on his birthday ......and I was thankful he picked a place I like too! Our server was Dan who we had not had before and he was excellent....someone we'll ask for in the future He (and I of course) was so pleased to note the card on the table....and the surprise bread pudding dessert .
I was so surprised when I asked for water and Dan said "with lemon, right?" because just the smell of cucumber does me in. You guys sure keep wonderful notes on your repeat guests!
My only complaint was I felt both of our steaks were really on the rare side of Medium rare....not enough to return but enough to note. Maybe we'll ask for medium next time.
We hosed a lunch for my sister, brother and their spouses. Very good foo, winr service.
We celebrated our daughter's graduation following the commencement ceremonies in downtown SD. The restaurant staff was very accommodating to move our reservation up by 1/2 hour, took excellent care of our party of 7, which included two 4-year olds. The food was awesome. Steaks were cooked to perfection. The kid menus satisfied the little ones, and our daughter felt truly special. We are from Colorado and picked this restaurant online. It met and surpassed all of our expectations, and we are planning to use the gift card program for future presents for our daughter and family. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!
Had horrible service. Have been to this restaurant many times and love the other Cohen restaurants. There was something definitely wrong this night. Had reservations at 6p, on a Monday. When we arrived the hostess told us we had to wait to be seated. After 20 minutes we returned to her desk and apparently she had forgotten that we were waiting. There was no acknowledgement of an error. As we went to be seated we were being steered to a table that was right next to the shaded area. We requested a different location, but were reassured that the sun would never hit our table. Half way through the meal we were blinded by the sun.
We had a great server, but it took forever for dinner to come. out. We are guessing they were short staffed, but noone that worked there commented on the overall poor service. Food was good, as usual. As much as we like this restaurant and it is very close to our house, we would hesitate to return. It was our wedding anniversiary and we were hoping for a nice evening. Our restaurant experience was anything but.
Not much not to like. The food was excellent. The service was as good as it could be. If there was a criticism, it would be that an item or two that were on the menu were no longer available. Pricing was very fair and it is one of our favorite resturants when a special occation comes around or trying to impress a business associate. Go there!
The restaurant is beautiful inside and the staff and food is excellent. On a side note, there needs to be a dress code for the dining room. Seeing grown men in tank tops in such a nice restaurant is not a pretty sight. Shirts with sleeves should be required.
We attend the Sunday prior to Father's Day and I was disappointed. The Server was nice but very inexperienced. He forgot to bring flat wear with the entree and forgot our scoop of ice cream for dessert. My boyfriend had to send back the pesto and pasta dish. It looked and tasted awful. The meat and noodles were too soft. I could have received a better entree if i had selected an item from a store's frozen food section. The fish and chips as well as the butter cake were great (once we received the ice cream for the cake).
We have been to Vintana many times in the past, mainly for holidays and had had a good experience but this last time, not on a holiday, was really poor. We did get our appetizers quickly, but then waited nearly an hour for our salads and another 45 minutes for our entrees. When we asked our server what the hold up was, she was rude and unhelpful (we had to ask twice about our food as it took for long for both). The lamb special was totally overlooked and tough. Luckily the rest was Ok. The best service we got for the night was from the bus boy as he was able to keep us hydrated as it felt like it was 90 degrees inside. We were totally roasting. We saw the floor manager walk by a few times but she never stopped by our table for us to flag her down to discuss the issues we were having. We may never go to Vintana ever again!
Food was delicious! Great steaks! Our server was attentive and helpful. I needed to ask busser for water throughout night though. We ordered a bottle of wine but were given wrong year - not sure if that mattered or not. We still really enjoyed evening and will return.
The food we ordered was delicious, mouth watering, well prepared and delightfully presented. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We have eaten at Vintana's several times before and will continue to return for special occasions.
This was our first time and the experience certainly matched the hype from word of mouth. The view and atmosphere was spectacular. The food was a fiesta for the taste buds and after diner on the outdoor patio was truely remarkable. We will definately return.
Great place to eat and enjoy the view. Good service and excellent food.
