Vintana Wine & Dine Ratings and Reviews
With a single exception, the ambiance and the preparation/presentation of the dishes was excellent. The bottom fourth of my wife's fish was burned., otherwise everything was wonderful. My wife and I were most impressed that the Hostess and our waiter were both very familiar with our unique food requirements. That the General manager stopped by our table (before our food arrived) to make sure everything was good+ so far was impressive.
I have eaten here a couple of times. While it's strange to eat in a restaurant on top of a Lexus dealership, the restaurant is quite dramatic, with floor to ceiling window, curved bankettes and interesting chandeliers. The food is excellent with large portions and intriguing recipes. They pride themselves on their extensive wine list. However, what impresses me most is the fantastic service, not only by the waiters and assistants, but by other staff, who dropped by our table to offer assistance.
I want to like Vintana because it is close, has easy parking and offers a nice view with the lit fountains out front that are visible from the dining room. The five times I have been, however, have all been disappointing. The food is ok, but very similar to the other Cohn restaurants. Presentation is nice, but twice they had trouble getting the steaks I ordered cooked as I requested--one was underdone, the other was over-cooked. The waiters don't seem to notice. The service has been underwhelming or just plain poor every time. Plus, on the last visit we had to wait over 2o minutes after our reservation time (we were on time) to be seated. It is a convenient location with nice decor but for the price I expect better service and a generally classier operation.
My nephew was visiting from out of state, it was his birthday and because I've enjoyed Vintana in the past I decided to celebrate his birthday there. Vintana was able to accommodate a last minute increase from 8 people to 11. The service was wonderful and the waiter was very pleasant and attentive. The food of course was absolutely delicious. We all had a great time and will definitely return.
Our server, Paulo was attentive and awesome. However, food was a disappointment. I go eat at Vintana at least once every 2 months but the flavors are really off. The Island Trio steak were a little tough, the special entree that evening was Braised beef short ribs and the meat was chewy. Most disappointing was the Cioppino. The shrimps were over cooked, fish mushy and worst was the broth/sauce. I had always enjoyed the fish with the chorizo giving it some kick but this time, someone was heavy handed with the chorizo and all I tasted was the spices of the chorizo. Overall, it was a disappointing evening as far as food is concerned.
The veterinarian meal that evening was cheese tortellini in a pesto sauce with cherry tomatoes. It was not very good, very dry and under cooked. Apparently I was not the only to feel this way and the assistant manager, unsolicited, offered any other meal. They took my meal charge off the bill. Very good service, very happy with the restaurant. First time ever with a meal not up to their standards and we eat there often.
First time here. 52nd anniversary. Had a 7:30 res. Arrived at 7:30 and had to wait! Sat at the very end of tables. Sever shows up says he'll be right back. No show for 10 min. He seems much more concerned with other customers. Takes drink orders and returns. Asks about appetizers. Wife orders he starts to walk away. Bye the way I'd like a shrimp cocktail!!!! The whole evening goes like this. Beautiful décor, terrible service, ok food and then they add a 3% charge to pay for increased costs! Give me a break. Will not return and will go to restaurants that appreciate my business.
This is the first time I was disappointed at Vintana's. We both ordered Caesar salad since this was our 3rd night out in a row due to restaurant week and we got the dregs of the salad. Like when you're at a buffet and only the hard pieces are left. I have to say though, the waiter was apologetic, he offered us an upgraded dessert (which was excellent), and everything else was pretty much perfect. Been to Vintana's many times and this is the first time I was disappointed in anything. Pretty good track record. If you haven't been, go! It's by far the nicest place in Inland North County. Went a few weeks ago for a Jazz concert and it was excellent.
We were a party of 3 seated within about 10 minutes near a window with an excellent view. Our server was very
Again, after making our reservation on OpenTable we were unaware until our arrival that it was restaurant week. We're from the East Coast & restaurant weeks usually run Sunday through Thursday, weekends are not included & OpenTable usually shows the menu.
I don't usually recommend trying a new restaurant during restaurant week, you don't get an honest view of the restaurant, the service or the food, but Vintana had things under control.
They start with a huge, brioche type role that was absolutely delicious. I don't normally eat bread at dinner, but I ate the entire thing & so did my husband & daughter.
We had nut crusted Brie & lobster bisque to start, all very good. I had filet, my husband had a bone in center cut pork chop in Calvados & my daughter had grilled pesto shrimp over linguine, all well prepared & delicious. We finished off with chocolate mousse served with a dollop of meringue & delicious cinnamon donuts.
My friend and I went here for dinner and they handed us the Restaurant Week menu. This was a nice surprise so we ordered the pre-fixe items. The appetizers were great, we got the Brie and shrimp cocktail. Our main course came out while we still had our appetizers. Main course wasn't so great. My friend enjoyed her salmon and I got the short rib with risotto. The risotto was delicious but the short rib was not what short rib should be. The meat was tough and fatty. I barely ate any of it. The dessert was also quite tasty, donut holes. However, one happened to fall off the plate on the way to our table and the server didn't even offer to replace it. I think for the price of what we paid the times could've been better. I wasn't impressed. Another note, the beer list is not very good. There are some local beers, but nothing special. The service and atmosphere was great, but I don't think I'd go back. I've tried to give this place a try multiple times and haven't been amazed. Maybe I'll try dining out on the lanai.
Max was a fantastic waiter. It was my birthday. Unfortunately, it was also Restaurant Week, so we couldn't use our Passport Card and there was only a limited menu from which to select. (Last year we were allowed to order from the regular menu.) Nevertheless, we had a great time.
And we had a free birthday mud pie to celebrate!
Would not recommend during restaurant week . Felt very understaffed. Inconsistent food. Seven of us had the pasta, and three of us sent it back because it didn't have the sun-dried tomatoes feta cheese or Olives. I think they just made a big pot of it and served it out without looking before they served it. The one person who had chicken got the chicken and it wasn't cooked all the way through. He couldn't even eat it. He didn't want to say anything because they did seem so busy and understaffed.
We asked for red pepper flakes three or four times and finally got them when we are almost done with our meal. I've been there other times and it has been good.
