Vintage Wine Bar & Bistro
Need to book at 7:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Reservation was at 7:15pm for 2 on a Friday night. Was seating outside and gotten our drinks. 8pm waitress still hadn’t taken order. Left. 45 minutes! Wtf
Loud. Server Made us feel like we were bothering him. Food was fair but overpriced. Will not return.
Very pleasant experience although a little loud and quite crowded (6 PM). I'd defintiely go back!
Extensive wine menu, steak/frites was excellent but the fig Gorgonzola appetizer indifferent. It had apple strips and dried figs, no detectable Gorgonzola. The high noise level made conversation very difficult
Our server wasn’t the most pleasant.
Worst restaurant week experience I’ve had ever.
The slowest service, over 3 hours in the restaurant and still not over. Other customers who were not participating in restaurant have received way faster service. What’s the point in ordering all courses ahead of time if they make us wait over 40 minutes for each one of them? Portion sizes are below expectations considering other restaurant’s menus. Definitely non restaurant week size portions. Our server never came to check on us in between meals either. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. At the very least it should not be a participant of restaurant week.
Delicious, imaginative food. Good wine list. Excellent service. Friendly, funky vibe even for those of a certain age!
This was a surprisingly sub-par visit - I’ve enjoyed this restaurant several times before. The wine flights were mediocre - one tasted as if it had turned - and the server (a former sommelier, per him) admitted he didn’t like the wine very much - why hadn’t he told us this up front? - and brought another poor glass of the same wine.
The food - we both had veggie burgers - was doughy and fairly tasteless.
I’d go back again to see if it was an off-night, or if it’s a decline in the overall food and service.
Always a pleasant experience at Vintage. Great atmosphere, service and good wine and fresh eats!
We are outside. The food was good.
Love this place. Excellent food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. And the wine, of course, is phenomenal. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient staff. We'll be back!
Good food and wine but literally one of the rudest waiters I’ve ever dealt with. He seemed genuinely disinterested in even pretending to be polite. He spilled an entire glass of water which soaked my pants and shoes and barely mumbled a ‘sorry’. I would come back for the food and wine but wouldn’t want to risk him waiting on me again.
Extremely noisy - if you like that kind of thing. Very interesting and expansive wine list though the mark up is kind over the top - $13-$15 for a glass of rosé?? Come on!!
The service is always amazing. Thank you again!
The AC wasn’t able to keep the place cool on the hottest day of the year.
Love the ambiance of this small bistro on 13th Street. Excellent happy hour from 4-6 with discount on appetizers and drinks. I enjoyed all the happy hour wines! Food was fantastic, especially the pan seared Duck Breast!
A great place from Brunch. The food is good and the service was excellent
The food, other than the steak frites, was good. The steak tasted overly vinegary and may have marinated too long. The service, however, was where our biggest complaint was. Initial drinks and appetizer came out quickly but we waited for our entrees for more than 40 minutes and when they arrived it was 2 at a time with 5-10 minute intervals. No apologies from our server or recognition that it wasn’t until I asked for our food that we even saw her. It wasn’t crowded either.
Service was disappointingly bad
Wonderful atmosphere. Busy time in Philadelphia but we were attended promptly. Food was delicious. Moderately priced. Wine selection was good but limited.
Will definitely come by again!
Two of us ate a light dinner here... cheese plate, a burger for my husband , and shrimp in a delicious broth for me. Our waiter was excellent and knowledgeable about the wines. We both enjoyed a flight and thought the price was decent.
Took very long time to get attention of waiter and to get our food. While food was good and price was reasonable, the wait was well beyond acceptable.
Overall I was pleased with this choice. I expected a bigger wine list, but the waiter helped us pic a good one. The muscles were tasty.
Really wanted to like this place.. The service was extremely slow. Three of us had the calamari pasta, which sounded promising by the menu description. Unfortunately it was terrible - tasted like dirty water and otherwise had no flavor. Our fourth diner had the duck confit which he said was pretty good. If you consider going here, I’d recommend sitting at the bar and sticking to the burger.
Extensive wine list and a short but nicely chose food menu made this a perfect meeting spot to have a few glasses of wine with friends. Nice outdoor patio- even though that was full for our visit, the restaurant has large windows which opened up to let the spring air in the entire restaurant. The food was delicious and they easily accommodated our food restrictions. Would definitely come back for happy hour or dinner!
The food was wonderful and certainly an terrific selection of wine. The service was warm and attentive. Hats off to the GM. We'll definitely be back.
Great waitress. Very knowledgeable.
Good food. We especially like the special of squid ink pasta with scallops. Portions are small. Wine is priced fairly.
The food was as really good, esp. the salmon entree, and the service (by Alex) was good. While I’ve always enjoyed the red wine choices here - they do a great job finding unique reds - both of us thought the 3 choices in the Italian red wine flight were just mediocre.
I would still definitely go back - as it’s the first time I didn’t love the wine here
Grata food and wine. The mussels were amazing!
Overall, we loved our experience there but the service could have been better.
Maybe it was where our party was seated or because they are guaranteed a 20% tip for large groups, but service was lacking. When waitstaff was there it was great but we rarely were able to get anyone’s attention to call out that place settings were missing, we needed more wine, etc.
Would I still recommend it...totally. The place is great. The food is delicious. And the wine was out of this world! Improving the service experience would match this place top notch in my book.
Took my husband to Vintage for his birthday, as it is one of his favorite spots in Philly. We ordered 3 appetizers, but only 1 was delivered to us. It took about 15 minutes to flag our waiter down and when we told him that we never received 2 of the appetizers, he never apologized, walked away, and had another waiter give us our check. We were very cordial when speaking to the waiter, so I am not sure where the hostility came from. Will not be returning.
It was a great birthday dinner. I would go back to try more wines!
We had a very pleasant post-flower show dinner with excellent wines of the day. Entree portions are not large, which was fine our (older) crowd. Service was friendly and very knowledgeable. Not the place for a quiet weekend dinner out, but the ambience was busy and energetic.
Menu offered several choices and the wait staff was ready to answer all questions. This is a delightful place to visit and very accommodating for theater goers. An experience we are happy to recommend and to repeat for ourselves!
Three of us were seated at a high top big enough for two. When I requested a regular table (which was open), we were told they were overbooked and had larger parties that needed the table. When we left an hour and a half later the table was still empty 😡. 2 Food specials we tried were underwhelming and tasteless. Would be a nice place just for a glass of wine at the bar.
We had a fun evening at the VIntage Wine Bar and Bistro. The flight selection for reds was really good and the food was excellent. We had mussels and salmon. We will definitely return.
Limited menu, but food was great. Hopping bar scene, so dining was loud. Great burger!
We can always count on a great glass of wine to accompany a delightful meal at the Vintage Wine Bar. Our server was great in recommending wine that fit our tastes and the food was delightful. I had the soup of the day (squash soup with Gruyere crostini) and the mushroom in puff pastry while my partner had the duck breast. The only detraction to the evening (which was a quick bite before heading to the orchestra), was the noise level in the bar. We've found the bar to be at its best during off peak hours when the noise level is lower. Really - one of us had a noise meter app on their phone and it was in the red! Maybe some acoustic tile would be a worthwhile investment for the bar, or at a minimum - get rid of the sound system at peak hours.
Vintage has an incredible selection of wines by the glass, as well as some wine flights. You can also get half or full cheese plate that never disappoints. There is other food on the menu as well but I never get beyond cheese and wine! Service is always impeccable, with extremely knowledgeable and attentive servers. It can definitely get noisy in here- particularly as it gets later in the evening, but still one of the best wine bars in the city on my list!
