Difficult call unfortunately. Had brunch there one day while they were busy and we had a good waiter, tasty Bloody Marys and a very nice brunch. The huckleberry French toast is especially good. The poached eggs on the meat and potato smash Benedict were cooked solid. But overall, not a bad experience so we booked a table for 4 and invited Friends to join us the next evening. Only a few tables occupied. Service was not good. They were out of the two best selections on the menu and had we know this we might not have bothered. Our waitress seemed barely interested. The food was okay but nothing to brag about. Granted it was early November and many places were closed BUT this place didn’t make any effort to make a good impression. I guess I give it a 4 overall for brunch and barely a 2 for dinner. I would NOT recommend.
We decided to go out on Sunday night and thought we would give Vintage a try. Boy, are we sorry that it was our first visit. It was one of the most delightful meals we have had in Vail, and we cannot wait to go back. (Since becoming empty nesters, we moved to Vail full time and dine out a fair amount.)
Located in the former Kelly Lieken space at the roundabout at Vail Road and the Frontage Road easily accessible walking from Vail Village or Lionshead as well as onsite guest parking. Unique in Vail as a facsimile of a true French Bistro with the standard fare of genre from steak frites to frogs legs escargot. Yet less traditional available as well including fish and vegetarian oriented dishes.
While there are multiple French restaurants in the Vail Valley, most are more formal (as formal as Vail can be) where as Vintage provides a more casual vibe with its limited menu yet bountiful enough that most diners will be satisfied.
Excellent cocktail menu again with some truly French inspired concoctions not usually found outside of major cities. Decent beer and wine selection as well.
Apps are varied from the traditional French as mentioned to more standard fare including a delectable looking Charcuterie which seems to be popular and can easily be shared by 3-4 persons.
The steak frites was a true rendition of the traditional dish using a hanger cut which while tougher is more flavorful as the cut is adjacent to organs within the cow. The frites true French including variations including truffle. Sauces are available as well including sauce bernasie.
Again the location is easily accessible yet is not in the heart of Vail Village yet that is part of the appeal. While at the round-about you also feel somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of the Vail core and welcoming especially during busy weekends and high season.
It was good - but not great. Coffee was good; cocktails were creative. Service was fine. The chicken and pancakes were TASTY!! But don't ask for syrup... $3 extra for a spoonful (really?). The BLT Benedict was drowned in avocado cream sauce. The Salmon Benedict was way too salty. The 'smashbrowns' were just odd. So, some good some not good. Glad we tried it. May return for drinks - and the chicken and pancakes.
Very attractive restaurant, and service was attentive. Filet mignon very good; salad with figs, walnuts and warm chevre also very good. Fish en papillote, side of mushrooms and soup of the day average. Sunday brunch is vibrant, busy and fun with an interesting menu. Dinner was less inspiring.
We were just walking about to find a place and saw this quaint comfortable but elegant busy restaurant. What a wonderful surprise - every course of our meal just got better and better; absolutely delicious! The proprietor was genuine as well as the servers - this is now my favorite go-to place. Oh, and the cocktails and wine list is nicely selected - found my "hard to find" favorite wine right on the list - someone else has good taste. Ha! If you haven't been here in awhile - give it another try (they have a new chef and he is superb). We are glad we discovered it for dinner.
Our second visit this year and what a nice find! They are very flexible with seating, we chose outside again and yes, a bit noisy on the street but great people watching and fun to be dining outdoors. The food is very high quality French in style and currently on Thur. they do -50% some bottles of wine, lots of good values and -40% every night on entrees. Worth trying and decide for yourself but we'll return! Loved my generous tasty Mussels and Steak Frites a winner!
A nice looking restaurant with beautiful outdoor seating. We had a late lunch celebrating my birthday here and there were very few occupied tables, and five front of the house staff. This place broke several culinary rules in that it served: warm beer, cold tomatoes (in the tomato with mozzarella salad), reheated steak (the most expensive item on the lunch menu, and luke warm french fries. Waitress was inattentive, and when she asked how everything was and given feedback on the meal's shortcomings, made no apology and no attempt to remedy the situation.
We had a great meal and our servers were fantastic. Very attentive and friendly. There was however a hostess(?) that was very under dressed in basically sweatpants and converse tennis shoes. I really don't think this was up to the standard set by every other employee.
Went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Recommend reservations as it was quite busy. Signature bloody mary is really good. Bacon wrapped figs are very tasty. We got variations of the benedict. Hers came atop the hash browns. Mine was on toast with the browns on the side. The "smashbrowns" are excellent. The benedicts were good but not great.
There is some outside cafe style seating, which appeared to be much quieter than inside, even though this restaurant is along a street and not on the pedestrian mall.
We went for breakfast (based on yelp) on a Wednesday and fell in love. We had a birthday in our party of 2 that day, and they brought us a small stack of pancakes with a candle. Our meals were so incredibly delicious that we came back for dinner, and as you know Vail is a competitive foodie environment. We had high expectations and the food surpassed again! Definitely go. The ambulance is adorable, and the service was great, and it was just what we wanted!
Food was extremely salty and cold. We had the wagyu sirloin with frites (frites inedible due to salt), roasted cauliflower( also inedible due to salt & being cold), chicken (over cooked). All sauces including bernaise were pre made not a la minute. French onion soup was cold and overly garlicky. When the check arrived, it was incorrect plus they added gratuity for a party of 3. Much better options in the Village...go elsewhere.
Absolutely fantastic dinner! It was my wife's birthday, so I called ahead, and Co was so helpful. She arranged for flowers to be placed on the table which she let us take home, at no charge! I spoke with Johnny, the sommelier earlier in the day and he gave amazing wine recommendations, and decanted our wine before we even arrived, it was perfect! Chelsea, our server, was perfectly attentive and made fantastic recommendations! We loved the frog legs, oysters Rockefeller, and ratatouille. Every gourmet dish was fantastic! And nearly every restaurant employee stopped by the table to say happy birthday...felt like family! Would go back over and over! Thanks guys!!

Fish was excellent and the mixed salad was extremely good and large enough to share. Love the service and make sure when they serve the butter if you like yours unsalted to ask for that.... cause it's served very salted! Would definitely recommend.
We went for brunch and sat outside on the patio. Fantastic beverages - the whiskey sour and the pisco pamplemousse. The bacon wrapped figs were delicious. I ordered the steak frites and that was the only downer - the steak was overdone and dry (I ordered medium) and didn't have any sauce to make it special. The fries were fine but again, nothing special. My boyfriend had the chicken and pancakes which were pretty good - the thyme syrup was delicious! Great service and atmosphere especially for brunch on the patio.
Vintage is a wonderful French bistro a block from Vail's main drag, just off the central roundabout. We come to Vail from Edwards specifically to come to Vintage, which in the evening has free parking adjacent to the restaurant. Classic French dishes, interesting cocktails and a top notch sommelier at competitive pricing makes Vintage an under appreciated local gem.
Vintage is one of the best kept secrets of Vail. Slightly off the main street, this small restaurant offers great food at a reasonable price. The steak with fries is my favorite. It had great flavor and portion was dinner size. We also had the salmon which was done perfectly and not covered in some unnecessary sauce. Service was very attentive. The brunch menu is also excellent.
I made a reservation for my daughter and I for Saturday based on great reviews. We were seated on the patio, which was lovely. We thought the BLT Benedict and the Huckleberry Bacon French Toast both sounded good so we decided to order one of each and split them both. What a perfect brunch! The BLT Benedict was different and the best eggs benedict I have ever had! Perfect eggs, crispy bacon, amazing avocado sauce! Then for the sweet side, the Huckleberry Bacon French Toast was light and wonderful, delicious through and through. The "Walk of Shame" brunch cocktail was the perfect addition. I have to confess, we loved it so much, that we went back the next day without a reservation, and had the exact same menu again. Absolutely fabulous!
The escargots, onion soup, mussels and chèvre salad got really high marks from our group. The steaks were also great but we had a bit of trouble getting one of them cooked right. The waitress recommended a medium order be submitted as medium-well because "the chefs cook like they do in France, tending to the rare side. A Medium+ order arrived as well done. It was returned and when it finally arrived, after the other diners had finished their meal, it was medium-rare. The bernaise sauce was lovely. Check was presented, but when the credit card slip arrived it showed an amount $15 higher than the check. Lots of great potential, but not as seamless as they could be.
The atmosphere is great! The menu was creative with a nice presentation. From the reviews, I expected an actual brunch with champagne but I did not see a brunch and champagne was not included. A little pricey for breakfast, especially if you ordered champagne but I still really enjoyed it.
