The noise level was so loud that it made conversation almost impossible. We had to shout across the table to be heard. Although food was excellent and prepared well, it was very expensive -- cost a small fortune to have dinner. Wine, however, was reasonably priced with several offerings that were affordable.
I have been to this steakhouse before and enjoyed it very much. My Son said he wanted to take me out for my birthday and asked where I would like to go. I said Vintage steak house. My Son works in Manhattan and eats quite a bit at " the Old Homestead" steak house so he knows good food and especially top notch restaurants. The food was fantastic and the service was absolutely professional and perfect. We had a great time and my Son was very impressed with this restaurant and said it was as good as any other place he has been. Its not cheap, but well worth the money. Fantastic steak!! Give it a try.
Took the server's recommendation on the scallop appetizer and it was delicious. T-bone was cooked medium rare to perfection. The truffle fries are the best. My wife had the shrimp and she really enjoyed it also. The staff is attentive, helpful and polite. Price isn't cheap but it's really not bad either. High quality ingredients, great atmosphere. Love this place.
Vontage was highly rated on google. Have been everywhere from mom and pop shops to franchise chains. Steaks were a little took crunchy still tasty but not up to par with the others. Mixed drinks were terrible, very rough old fashioned. If you want a decent steak and a beer place is fine nothing crazy. I reccommend insignia in smithtown. More bang for your buck and treated more upper class
We went for our anniversary and really enjoyed the time. Our waiter, Bobby, was very friendly and attentive to our needs and likes. He made a recommendation for the appetizer, the Thai Calamari, and it was perfect. The wine matched the food well and the food, well steak is their specialty and it was done to perfection. My wife had the salmon and she loved it. Bobby comped the desserts to end the evening and brought the flourless chocolate cake out with a candle to celebrate our anniversary, nicely understated but showed the staff picked up on the special occasion. Would I recommend Vintage to a friend, most definitely. Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I love Vintage. We dine here often. The food and the service are always outstanding.
Juan was our waiter and he was a pleasure. He helped to make my mom’s 70th birthday very special. Management has also always been great. We were seated in a nice private quiet area. The best steakhouse on LI.
We had an excellent meal. The halibut special and the gulf shrimp were outstanding. We saw and smelled many great looking steaks go by, so we will be back to try those. The wait staff was very attentive and certainly did not rush us. This was our first time at this restaurant and we will be back.
As always, another excellent meal at Vintage. And as usual our waiter Robbie, and Maitre de, John, made our dining experience even the more pleasurable. You just can't go wrong going to Vintage whether it be for a date or with a group of friends as the food is consistently excellent and the service is always top notch - attentive but not distracting from the meal and the time you are spending with your guests.
The food was great and the service was excellent! We went because we had a gift certificate and it was definitely worth it. There was an extremely loud party in the front room and there wasn’t much the staff could do about it other than pull the drapes shut. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our dinner.
Food and service were as always top notch. Vintage is a favorite of ours and now most of our friends as well. We had octopus ( best ever), Buratta, Pear Salad ( great) and the shrimp cocktail (huge). The porterhouse for 2 and halibut were our entrees , all outstanding ! Bobby was our waiter , very good suggestions. The staff really seems to go above and beyond to make sure we are happy every time we eat at vintage , it was my friends birthday and they brought him a flourless chocolate cake we all tasted it, it was incredible. Classy!!!!
Once again Vintage served up a terrific dinner from the sea scallop appetizer to my fillet mignon everything was perfect. Everything was served hot and the service was excellent throughout the entire meal. Vintage is also reasonable with regard to its wine mark compared to some other local steak houses which mark up their wines 150-200% which is ridiculous.
When I made this reservation through Open Table I noted that it was our anniversary and how we met so when we arrived, the Matradee was very personable seating us and commenting on how we met- my boyfriend was both confused & surprised how he knew we met at Jury Duty 10 years ago! Anyway- this is by far the best steakhouse around. We had the special Long Bone Ribeye for two- so flavorful...don't miss out on the creamed spinach and we thoroughly enjoyed the stuffed potatoe (big enough for 2); Also asked for Bernaise Sauce- wow- the Best!! They surprised us with a slice of delicious cheesecake with a candle in it afterwards along with our Cappuchinos. Everyone is so friendly. Definitely worth the trip and money!👍
Very enjoyable meal had by everyone in our party. The chef even made my favorite salad, which is no longer on the menu. (Vintage Salad). The grouper was fresh and nicely prepared too. We even squeezed in a tasty bananas foster for dessert that we shared around the table.
