The food was excellent with good sized portions. Everything from the starters to dessert and after dinner drinks were delicious! We weren’t rushed and enjoyed excellent cocktails prior to dining. The service was wonderful! Loved our meal and the view of the bay!!

Service was terrible. David was curt and unavailable. Was not impressed. Cobwebs all over the ceiling as well.
Don’t advertise as a good restaurant and then have televisions on the walls.
Served bread after the main course... not impressed for the price.

Vintage Chop House is an under-appreciated gem in Northern Michigan. Menu offers great comfort food options in the Winter and is always prepared well. Many more options on the menu compared to some other N. Michigan fine dining spots.

We came to meet friends we had not seen in years--to catch up, talk, and
share particularly good food. The waitress was both attentive and sensitive

We were promptly seated at a two person table along side the water as requested through open table. We started with a bottle of wine and the shrimp cocktail. This was pretty good, their homemade cocktail sauce was a nice touch. The bread they put on the table (wrapped in a napkin? Did you run out of a serving bread bowl?) was not very good. Something I could get at a grocery store, kind of like a brown and serve. My wife got the crab encrusted whitefish that was pretty good. I got the filet. For 49$ this wasn’t very good. I’ve had much better filets for 10$ less. Bottom line food was mediocre at best and the views were excellent. I would try some where different next time though unless I was staying at the inn at bay harbor.

We made an OT reservation to celebrate our anniversary at Vintage Chophouse. First - the name is somewhat deceiving, there are only 2 steaks on the menu, so it’s hardly a “chophouse.”

We were seated promptly by the host, but service went downhill from there. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to greet us and give us water. Another 15 minutes to get us a martini and a Manhattan. We asked for bread before our appetizer arrived but he said we couldn’t have bread until our soups came! If I’m paying $200 for two people to have dinner I better be able to get some bread whenever I please. Our server refused to look us in the eye and never came to check on us. We had to flag him down for a second round of drinks, a clean steak knife, desert and our check.

Food was decent. Not huge portions - but very flavorful.

Restaurant ambience was nice. Overlooking the bay and very craftsman inspired on the inside.

Beautiful view of the Bay. Lovely for sunsets and a nice meal. Service was a slow, however, we were not in a hurry so we were ok with the slow service. We told the waiter we would be taking our time and ordered a cocktail. An hour later the server came back to the table.

My wife and I were staying in Charlevoix and was looking for fine dining which is not typically available in northern Michigan. We were surprised to find this place on Open Table and were so happy we did! Great ambiance, impeccable service, and excellent food. The prices are actually much cheaper than you'd expect. We dined in the evening and could not take in the harbor view but that is another reason to visit!

Food was delicious. We started with the Mac and Cheese gratin, then enjoyed our meals and finished with the goat cheese cheesecake. Bonus points for the view as we got to watch the sunset as this restaurant is off the water.
