Vintage Chophouse l Wine Bar
Very memorable dining experience
Very nice meal with great atmosphere and great service
Our waiter was very accommodating and friendly, knowledgeable and our meal was amazing!!!! We had a table next to us that was not very friendly and we heard the interaction between him and them and he handled it very professionally, he took responsibility for the other waiter that brought out their food. Difficult people with attitudes that cannot be wrong are a hard thing to deal with but he did very well!!!! We will be back again tonight!!!!
Atmosphere was great. Food was phenomenal and the service was top notch. Will certainly be back.
The server was pleasant, just very slow. The table behind us left, because it was taking too long.
Have dined here a few times now and the food and service are always wonderful.
This place was amazing ! I would totally go back - my steak was cooked perfectly, the dessert was to die for(flourless cake), and my waiter was so kind and attentive. This place really exceeded my expectations. Would recommend this hands down.
We ate dinner here the night before and returned the next evening for burgers and salad and the French onion soup! Service was prompt, food was delicious! They also do a corkage fee which is a plus for us! $30 was fair and reasonable.
Amazing atmosphere for my wife’s and I 30th anniversary dinner!! Excellent menu & staff
We came to Vintage Chophouse 4 years ago and had an amazing meal. This time, it wasn't awesome. The wine selection is good and the ambiance is terrific. We were seated next to the fire place, which was nice, but a bit hot. The table could certainly be a couple feet further away to avoid sweating through your meal. My wife had the restaurant week special and I had the cowboy ribeye. Last time we were here, the steaks were amazing. This time, the first steak came out medium well-well done when I had asked for medium rare. They took it back and it took until my wife was done with her meal to get my steak. This wasn't ideal for our anniversary. Unfortunately, while cooked medium rare, the meat wasn't terrific. It tasted like a select cut of meat, not even on par with choice ribeyes I get locally at home and grill myself. For the price, I expect something that doesn't have big sections of tough tendons and doesn't require the sauce on top to carry the flavor of the meat. The re-fire took about 30 minutes, which seemed long for the quality. It tasted like a quick pan fry that was maybe 4 minutes per side, not something that had been cooked on par with a great steakhouse. They gave me a small discount on the bill. We won't go back when we come to town again.
Food was very good. Server Maria and bar tender Adam were very good. Hostess Jodie didn’t have a clue. We checked in a little early for our reservation and had a drink at the bar. She totally forgot all about us until we finally went back to her 15 minutes after our reservation time. She never even apologized.
We entertained friends from downstate on Friday evening. It was to be a Birthday dinner. I had mentioned that fact when I made the reservation on line, and on a follow up call.
The Hostess showed us to the table I had requested, which was perfect, however, did not give a Birthday greeting to our friend. The server was very friendly and efficient, however did not seem to know of the birthday event either. I mentioned it and he was spontaneous with our friend afterward.
I would not have thought anything about it had I not experienced a different response when having dinner last winter in Florida, on my Birthday.
The same details were given the restaurant by my husband that we would be celebrating my birthday. When we arrived and he gave our name- the Host immediately gave greetings to me. Other staff near by also greeted me. We were led to a Special table, which had a Printed card with my name and Happy Birthday on it.
After being seated, I was presented a long stem Red Rose! Next, a restaurant employee offered to take our picture. All during the evening, every staff member who passed by our table, stopped a moment to say Happy Birthday!! At the end of our meal, which was Fabulous, our server brought a 5x7 framed picture to us! Nothing fancy- a cardboard frame but still a memento of the evening!
The Restaurant was very comparable to the Vintage Chophouse and Wine Bar In ambiance and price points. A few small details, when you know your patron is celebrating a special event, can make a Lasting memory, rather than just an enjoyable dining experience. We will certainly go back to Fleming’s in Florida this winter. I’m sure we will also go to the Vintage Chophouse and Wine Bar again soon. The potential for a small improvement does exist, if you see any value in what I’ve written.
The food, ambience and views were all amazing. The service was terrible... sat at the table 10 minutes before even being greeted by a server or given water. And every time he left, we knew it would be at least half an hour before seeing him again. Never even got our water glasses refilled or asked how our food/drinks were. For a high-end restaurant, we expected much more in terms of service.
We thought the service was slow maybe because it it was busy and they were only two servers.my wife had a glass of wine and after finishing the server never came back asked if she wanted another I asked for the garlic aïoli on the hamburger to be put on the side it was smeared all over the top rather than send back I scraped it off
Food was great. Service was also exceptional. The one draw back is that it is a very small location with no division between the bar and the restaurant, so very limited seating and a bit noisy.
Very nice resort restaurant. Both food and service were excellent. Gorgeous views of Little Traverse Bay. We had two dinners, one lunch and a Happy Hour cocktail here and we enjoyed them all. Food was consistently very good and servers were always very attentive. We highly recommend Vintage Chop House and Wine Bar
Solidly average. Not what you expect for the price. Beautiful room however. They could do so much more with it!
It was our third night dining at the Vintage and had to swat at little mats through our entire dinner. Got to get control of them. Not as bothered the other nights but they were there.
Always enjoy it ... fun watching college football. Good food and service.
Service and food are amazing! Great views inside and out
Great, prompt service, meals were delicious. Beautiful view of sunset on Little Traverse Bay.
We celebrated our 25 year anniversary with a small group here, and everyone went the extra mile to ensure our experience was perfect. Food, ambiance, and service was excellent. We will definitely return!
We were staying at the hotel & wanted to eat close by as we were tired from our drive. We were seated promptly for our reservation time. Drinks were excellent & the food was very good. We had flank steak & the fish entree (I forgot which fish, either walleye or white fish). Very good. The cauliflower au gratin was delicious. Overall a lovely dining experience with a beautiful view
Excellent food. Pleasant service. Ambiance: on the water. What could be better???!!!
The whole experience was fantastic! Our server, Calvin, was excellent; the food was out of this world and the view from our window table was absolutely spectacular! Can't wait to visit again!
Great, once again!
Made a reservation on open table. Showed up 5 minutes earlier. Told us they are closed and not taking any more customers. Then about 25 drunks showed up and they served them. Shouldn’t have taken my reservation if you’re closing the place for a party. Really bad. Also, it was my 50th birthday and I was a guess at the resort.
We sat outside on a beautiful evening and enjoyed the view of the lake. Only shortfalls were the menu is pretty limited and the prices are steep.
Well executed menu choices. Outdoors overlooking the bay!
Birthday date night.
Soup not great and $50 for a cheese plate too much.
Everything about the Vintage Chophouse is sensational!! I am celebrating my August marriage with my bride and Dean provided us with exceptional service! Chef "crushed" it with the Lambshank and Grilled Walleye! I highly recommend this establishment.
When dining in an upscale hotel restaurant (chophouse) in an upscale resort, one would expect the food quality, service and value to match the high prices. Other than a spectacular view of Grand Traverse Bay and its sunset from a patio table, there is no reason to go to the Vintage Chophouse. We were given a 6 person booth for the two of us that was next to the door going to the patio. Wait staff were constantly going in and out and not closing the door. With the door open we were subjected to blasts of wind and small bugs blown directly at our table along with blinding sunshine from the setting sun. Our waiter was very busy and we had to ask other staff to ask him to stop by to place a drink order. The service was very slow making the location of the booth near the open door even more even more unpleasant. We ordered salmon which was over cooked and dry and the vegetables were cold. Rather than sending them back and prolonging the misery of the evening, we ate it and tried to find our waiter for the check. Another long process requiring us to ask another staff person to send him to our table.
At the end of the evening I approached the hostess and explained our experience and our dissatisfaction with the table. She acknowledged that it was a bad table and usually doesn’t seat people there. What? Must have been our lucky night. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area with much better food, service and ambiance who, on their worst night, would be a better choice.
We celebrated our Anniversary with an early dinner/window-bay view location thanks to Jody. We received a complementary Veuve-Cliquot champagne split as starter, ordered great French onion soup and salad, followed by an 8oz filet mignon topped with thin potato gazebo & shared great mashed potato, followed by complementary flour-free fruit crumble dessert. Great service by Chris.
My husband and I were staying at the Inn and we decided to dine here. I ordered French onion soup, light on the cheese. The soup arrived with my entree with way too much cheese. So I had to return it. Potatoes ordered to share arrived undercooked also returned. Filet was ok and my husbands lamb shank was also ok. We expected better overall from this restaurant.
Service was sub par for the cost.
The restaurant is very lovely with inside or patio dining. The service was excellent and the menu offered plenty of choices. However the portions were incredibly small for the high prices charged. As a result you need to order an extra course in order to get enough eat which makes the cost of dinner exorbitant in my opinion.
We just got married the day before and put that in the reservation notes. The restaurant brought us a bottle of champagne on the house. Wonderful hospitality!
Food was not good. Our sides were cold and steaks were not good.
Was told when we checked into hotel we wouldn’t need a reservation. Got to restaurant at 7:30 and was told they were completely booked for the night and we couldn’t even put our name on a list. Went to another part of the lobby, logged into OpenTable and was able to make a reservation for 8pm. We were seated at 7:55. How strange is that? This is advertised as a very upscale chophouse. Definitely didn’t feel like one. No tablecloths or placemats so the water and drink glasses dripped all over table. Table was soaked when we first sat down from the quick wipe off they had done between patrons. Silverware was placed directly on wet table. Water glasses were dirty. Loud. TV screens on wall. Felt more like an upscale sports bar. Food was just ok, but not what we expected for the price.
