Vintage Chophouse & Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Been wanting to try out vintage for years now. At first glance it seemed like a very great place to have a date with my wife. Appetizers were fantastic, ambiance was overall good. Live music was a bit much towards the end of the evening (too loud). Steaks came out burnt, but new ones were cooked up right away. Will definitely have to give them another chance as the customer service was exceptional.
Vintage is my favorite restaurant. I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and it was his first time at vintage his favorite place is Ruth Chris and that's the only place he takes me to but thanks to my sister that got us a vintage gift card for xmas he had to try vintage And guess what he says that he likes the steak more than Ruth Chris and that he would take me there more often. I loved everything I ordered escargot. lobster mac and cheese with their white truffle oil. "Who knew mac and cheese can be classy" it's what my man said LOL . Lobster mashed potato. Oysters yummy. The steak is always cooked to my liking which I also dip with the classic bearnaise sauce I must say the ribeye by itself is very flavorful so you dont really need sauce but I just love their sauce. Their Crème Brûlée is to die for. I recommend this. I will come here again Feb 21 for my man's birthday.
I wrote a review on Vintage Chophouse's page. It was good. We had a great time.
I was disappointed in the baked Alaska and one of my friends was disappointed
in the brownie. Other then that, the afternoon went well. Our waiter was good.
He could have been a little more attentive when it came to ordering another
round of wine, but that was okay.
First time for lunch appointment in many years as it has been a hit or miss in the past. The food was generally well prepared with my steak sandwich cooked as requested rare to medium rare. The steak had a large piece of gristle on the crown of the meat that was not trimmed away prior to cooking. Upon my first bite the hard chewiness of the gristle was an unpleasant surprise. Also, the music was quite loud resulting in my guest commenting to difficulties hearing the discussion at hand, which for a business lunch was not desirable.
A family night out. The food was fantastic. Our waiter Stephen made everyone feel at home. When the wine we ordered was not available the sommelier (Dean) suggested an slightly more expensive selection and provided it at the same cost. It was, of course, a great suggestion. Service and overall experience for this night out was top notch.
We have been there a lot of times and always was a 10 out of 10, This time I ordered Prime rib and I had to send it back as it was really really tough. I did not want another meal as it was too late, my choice, but they were very good and did deduct the meal from my tab. I will be back as stuff can happen anywhere and it is what the company does with it when it happens.
Food was very good and was served in a timely manner. It was our anniversary and we received a special treatment which included a glass of Sparkling wine and an almost private seating location. Service was fast and friendly. The location, service and food made our anniversary meal very memorably.
I mentioned on my reservation the reason for my visit. They were very accommodating. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from beginning to end. I was greeted with a smile the moment I stepped into the restaurant as well as when I stepped out to leave for the night. Thank you Vintage for the delicious food, wonderful service, & great music. All of those combined made for an unforgettable evening. Cheers.
Our entree took 1 hour and 25 minutes to deliver as “the kitchen was backed up.” The salads and appetizers were brought within 5 minutes of ordering. The wine list is extensive but were “sold out” of the actual vintage on its wine list. Great live band. Very nice and knowledgeable sommelier.
Food took an hour to arrive after ordering. Blame was placed on a Xmas party making things busy that night. Our server was friendly enough and the Manager paid for our drinks which was appreciated. However, the delay of food seriously hurt our overall impression of the place.
Headline: ~2 hours after arriving on premise, we got to eat. Didn't get all our appetizers. Meal was burned first try, raw the second. Won't be back.
Details: 8:30 reservation. Waited for a table, sat about 10-15 minutes later. When we advised we would not be drinking wine, the wine glasses were cleared, but not offered other drink options. Ordered our food about 8:50 - put in our appetizer and food orders together. Waitress was very good about keeping water glasses full.
Appetizers: Tuna Tartare - I was hoping for some Wasabi - but no, it's avocado on the bottom. Good, but bland. Chicken fried lobster. 2 smallish pieces of lobster, accompanying sauce was.... bland. Not sure what it was, didn't really taste like anything. Pork Belly - ??? no comment. Never arrived...
9:45 waitress advises food will be out soon, large party was in front of us. 10pm - food arrives. 18 oz rib-eye - Burned. I like a good char on my steak, this was charcoal. Look under the steak, there is charcoal dust and a small amount of au jus underneath. The plate has black marks on it. I eat one bite, terrible! Order a drink to try and get rid of the horrible charcoal/burned taste and ask waitress to take the steak back. All steaks on the table are burned, but other guests opt to power through and not complain - mine was inedible - had to say something.
Waitress was excellent - we tipped her well. Kitchen - unbelievably poor results for a top steak house. Mgr comes over and apologizes - removes the steak from the bill. Appreciated, noted - you did right by us on that account.
10:20pm - new steak arrives - not cooked to order. (Ordered medium - it was served rare.) Almost cold in the middle. I assume they were being cautious with burning another one.... Ate it - enjoyed it. Wondered why I am paying almost $400 for this meal...??
~2 hours after arriving on premise, got to eat. Won't be back.
Picked up a pack of gum on the way home to try and get the charcoal out of my mouth.
We hadn't been to Vintage in years and had forgotten how great it was! We had an early dinner because we had 7:30 tickets to the theatre. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was prompt without being too rushed. We each had a glass of wine, one red, one white. They were delicious and reasonably priced. We both opted for the prime rib which when arrived was hot and perfectly done. I couldn't have made it better myself! We chose the scalloped potatoes and hubby wanted to onion rings. Everything was great with just enough time to pay and get to the theatre before curtain call!
I would highly recommend the Vintage Chophouse and are planning our next visit sooner than later!
Ordered the tartar for an app which was amazing as always. Med Rare Ribeyes took over 60 minutes to come out and was somewhere between med well - well done. Manager took steaks off bill without us really having to mention anything which was great - disappointed though as I was looking forward to it and would rather pay for a great steak than get a mediocre one free. Will of course be back though, as I go often enough and typically the chefs are on point. Usually top 3 steaks in the city easily.
