Vintage 423 Ratings and Reviews
Very good food. The waiter struck the right balance between attentiveness and letting us be on our own. I had the sword fish steak which comes with brussel sprouts and risotto. The fish and risotto were amazing. The brussel sprouts were a bit undercooked, but still pretty good. My only real complaint was that at one of the fanciest restaurants in ABQ the people at the table next to us were dressed pretty sloppy. I understand that it's Albuquerque, but the father was wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt, and shorts. I tend to dress up a little bit too much for fancy dinners, but most other people were at least in sweaters and slacks, or similar.
Beautiful atmosphere, fun/creative theme, excellent food, our service with Johnny was great..friendly, informative, gracious fairly timely even though it was busy..prom night. We were celebrating wedding anniversary with family.
Atmosphere was very nice and comfortable. I was called the morning of reservation to confirm. Asked type of seating preferred (booth) and confirmation it was an 82nd birthday (yes). We were not given a booth until I asked and birthday never acknowledged. Shrimp was bit tough and sauce very spicy. Said it came with asparagus, carrots and Brussel sprouts--no Brussel sprouts. Filet was very good, but certainly not 9 ounce. Said it came with mashed potatoes, instead received gratin potatoes which were good. Very slow in receiving food from time of order. Waitress very pleasant and accommodating. Mixed emotions about returning based on experience.
Horrible food and a very pushy server to upsale. I was double charged for a appetizer and was told he wanted us to have a larger portion. I paid for it because I didn't want to ruin my night but will not be back and will urge friends and family to go somewhere else.
The food required a develop taste for under cooked veggies and jumbo shrimp . Not that the food was not good but how it was prepared, I prefer my food to be cooked more than what I was served this night. THe menue did not have much of a selection of red meat. The wine was good. The desert was not frim but soft and runny. I give it a 2 1/2 out of 5.
THIS WAS MY SECOND TIME I HAD DINNER AT VINTAGE 423 I WAS HOPPING AN APPROVED EXPERIANCED DINNING.
We have been wanting to try vintage because of the balcony with a great view of the mountains. Turns out the balcony was not open so we sat on the patio downstairs. Still a very nice atmosphere and view. Service was slow on the patio but it didn't bother us much because we were not in a hurry. For dinner we split the iceberg lettuce salad which was plenty for two people and well done. For main courses one of us had calamari and the other had chicken Cordon Bleu. The calamari was somewhat overcooked, but otherwise okay. The chicken Cordon Bleu was way overcooked and not edible. It was sent back and we just shared the calamari.
Seems like a nicely located and attractive restaurant, but the kitchen needs some serious oversight.
The service was amazing until we cashed out. We moved to the patio and was not ever helped. The tables all around us were taken care of. We had to walk in to the bartender for any kind of service. Ps she was amazing. Our server should've continued to check in. He would've made more money.
Three of us visited this restaurant on a recent Saturday evening. When the restaurant called to confirm that we were actually going to appear, we informed them that this was a special occasion, namely the birthday of one member of our party. The ambiance reminded us immediately of a second rate Las Vegas restaurant, of the sort that is striving for elegance but sadly misses the mark by failing to have a cohesive theme or design, thereby ending up looking like something in an old hotel far from the Las Vegas Strip. The appetizers sampled included cups of Lobster Bisque , which was quite good, and an Iceberg Lettuce Wedge Salad, which easily have served two, and was more notable for size than elegance of presentation. The diner who ordered the tiger shrimp was pleased with the dish. The diner who ordered short ribs, which is essentially nothing more than brisket or pot roast, found the portion to be quite small, as were the accompanying servings of asparagus and haricots verts. The third diner ordered the chicken cordon bleu. The plating of the chicken was lovely. However, the dish was served at room temperature which considerably diminished both the flavor and the texture of the chicken and its stuffing. We decided, to order desserts, key lime pie, and pineapple cake. When they arrived at the table, we mentioned to the server that no one had yet acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday. He quickly said, well, we do that by giving you a free dessert, so the celebrant gets free dessert. It was only too obvious that no one in the restaurant had planned to do anything, and the waiter was tap dancing as fast as he could to compensate for that fact. There is no reason whatever that we would ever come back here or recommend it to anyone. It is a restaurant aimed at people who mistakenly think that if you see words like sopressata or bresaola on the menu, you're in a classy restaurant. They're wrong.
This was our tenth but last time for Vintage. We arrived on time but there was a sign at hostess station to ask bartender for seating. She had no idea so our server ,who was only person working the room of ten or so tables, seated us. She did a good job and was reason for slow service as she had too much and no help. Our white wine cane out warm and not just not cold. The French onion soup was very tasty. The fries on the steak frites were great. The steak was fair and my mother in laws was undercooked and tough. My swordfish was a mess of flavors that didn't work and tastes like a Chopped attempt with truffle oil and a cheesy ricotta. This was a ruined evening of food. Our server tried hard and got minimal help from the two teenagers acting as hostess. This is poor management on Jason's part and I will not be back
I have been very satisfied in the past with Vintage. This time the dining room was almost empty and I know why. The service was less than adequate, there was a very poor selection of beer (obviously trying to appeal to the young adult). The dinner was warm not hot, but very good. My wife wanted plain iced tea; the tea was flavored. I expect much better than adequate at a restaurant such as the Vintage. I will return; however, there are several restaurants in Albuquerque which are very good. This is not one of them at this time.
Service was absolutely horrible!!!!! Took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks, 40 minutes to get our salads and we wanted to leave but they claimed our entrees would be soon after and that was 20 minutes after that!! All they did was give us 50% off our apps. So tacky! No manager came out and apologized for the long wait. The server said the kitchen was behind but the patio and restaurant were not busy at all. The food was amazing so I would return to see if maybe this was a off day.
Friendly and prompt service, good selection of alcohol beverages. We have eaten there 3 times, the first two times the food was excellent (but expensive), this last visit the food was bad. We both had Filet Mignon, the cut was extremely poor, stringy and tasteless. Even though we ordered mashed green chili we got potatos o'gratin, which were mostly cheese. Neither my wife or myself could finish the steaks.
I did complain about the steak and one of the steaks were taken off the bill.
The food was good but the service was bad. Big bill and bad service = no return. One server for the whole dinning room might have something to do with the slow service... We were seated right away and waited about 30 min for our drink order after being told the bottle of wine we ordered was hard to get to? Menu options were plentiful and tasty but for the prices we paid we expected good service. Disappointing 🙁
Introduced a friend to the beautiful restaurant & excellent food. We had a beautiful roof top dinner with excellent sunset & mountain views. Everything was phenomenal-- service was outstanding & amazingly delicious food. Always recommend this restaurant!
We went for our one year anniversary and when I looked it up I was super excited to go. The website pictures looked amazing and romantic. I made reservations and when we arrived we were seated right away. The services was really good and they gave us the right amount of space without completely ignoring us. The place was very romantic and had really big booths. There was a wall that was a glass wine case that was full of wine. Definitely a place to go if you like wine! Our food came out really fast but it wasn't what we expected. I ordered the shrimp and it was really really small. My husband ordered the steak and it was okay but not the greatest steak. The food was way over priced for what we received. I don't think we would go back if the food was the same but wereally loved everything else.
First dinner came out without the side of shrimp, second entree was delivered with cold vegetables and when heated up and returned we discovered that the sauce had been missing from the dish. Felt that the meal was overpriced. Waitress was exceptional! Will try the happy hour! Mist have been a new chef under training.
