Truly a gem in the North End. Had a reservation on a busy Friday night and our table was ready when we arrived. The food was fresh and delicious. Wait staff attentive and efficient. We’ll be back!
Friday nite reservation and traffic was tough so 2 in our party of 4 were very late, but the restaurant was very accommodating and seated the 2 of us si we could have drinks while we waited. Food and drink were brought in a timely manner. I was a little disappointed with my pasta vongole as the flavor was not as good as I remembered and the same was agreed for the 2 pasta bolognese dishes. The one special of the nite dish ordered was just ok. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but perhaps the regular chef was off that nite.
Such a great restaurant, so delicious I had a Barramundi fish that fish that it’s so hard to find finally I found it at Vinoteca! Impressed about the dish so tasty and healthy !
Service was greatttt!!!!
Rubbery calamari, service was prompt at first but eventually dropped off & we had to flag down someone to bring our check. With the abundance of choices in the North End, I’d definitely give this one a miss.
Server was very professional and knowledgeable. Fruitti di mare and chicken parm were excellent! On the large size for a restaurant in the North End and also has a separate bar area which was a nice bonus.
Yesterday we came early we sit at the bar the bartander he made as such a delicious drinks! And after we had dinner the waitress was very sweet and kind she told us the food is the grandmother’s food! And really was such a great food like a grandmother’s I felt like a home! The Vinoteca is the best I’ll recommend to all the best home made pasta! Best in Northand!!!
Went based on great reviews. Dishes sounded so wonderful and were very lacking in flavor. Wait staff & others made up for the food and offered us free desert. Staff was the saving grace for us
Great staff. Excellent service.
Yesterday I went with my husband for dinner we had a bottle of wine Valpolicella very cheep wine and delicious! Food was unbelievable so good and tasty! We eat so much until we clean the plates that’s how good it was and we weren’t that hungry!
Great service everyone was kind and polite very professional!
The best Italian food that we ever had! Impressed!!!
Can’t waite to go back!!!
Honestly I live in the north end and thought I would switch it up and try this place. It’s terrible.
The homemade pasta was amazing, as was all the food. Service was also wonderful.
I can't say enough about the food. Everything was delicious! Can't wait to comeback.
Loved our experience. Intimate dining area, yet not crowded. Our food was excellent and the server gave us the appropriate amount of attention without being overbearing. All in all, a great experience in the North end.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved the fresh-made pasta. Good location in Boston’s North End. Cozy but not not loud.
We chose Vinoteca di Monica for a combination Valentines Day and birthday celebration that included friends from out of town who had never been to the North End. We arrived early for our reservations and decided to have a drink at the bar; we ended up having a nice conversation with the bartender, who talked us into being seated in the bar area. The service, as usual, was outstanding as was the food (including a Veal Parmesan that was head over heels better than any I'd ever tasted) and wine (best wine list in the North End). Helpful note: despite the small size of the bar area, it's a little quieter there than in the main dining room.
We loved everything! The waitress was super efficient and so kind . The wine was excellent. The quality and flavor of all our dishes was suberb!! Best restaurant in the Northend!
Amazing food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
As always exceptional food and service.
Love this restaurant.
Meals were less than average. Salty and not very flavorful. Waitstaff was excellent and ambience was very nice.
The food was fantastic and pretty reasonably priced. Tables were abnormally close together, which would be my only complaint - it's hard to have a romantic dinner when there's maybe a foot in between your table and others on each side.
Horribly customer service. I was so excited to come back to the restaurant as I had been there p/t it's temporary closing several years ago and had a wonderful meal and wonderful service. I don't know if the ownership changed or WHAT happened, but I will NOT be going back there. So disappointing.
Celebrated two birthdays. Had reservations which is needed given the size and how busy it was. All staff very welcoming and polite. We were happy with our meals, with the exception of the Cesaer salad. Amount of food a bit small for a couple of adult men, but were delicious in taste. We didn't feel rushed despite the crowds. I would recommend to others.
Despite the fact that there were many empty tables for 2, at least 10, they would not seat me until my husband arrived. When we were finally seated, there were still empty tables. My husband got the veal Parm which was very good. I got the fried artichoke, horrible. We both spit them out but didn’t complain at this point. I also got pasta with clams, oil and wine. It had no taste and sat in a 1/2 inch of water. I love to cook and I was extremely disappointed. They removed the charge but dinner was ruined. Also, they forgot to bring our salad. This restaurant was recommended by a friend but we won’t be back.
We've dined there many times, and it's fabulous every time we come! Excited to get some fresh pasta from the new shop next door :)
Still the best in the north end, they are spectacular and Remain great after all these years
My wife and I went to Monica’s for Sunday brunch and had their equivalent to eggs Benedict. As we went early, it was quiet in the book in which we were seated. Service was excellent and attentive. The eggs Benedict were well done and delicious. We would recommend Monica’s.
One of the better places in the North End. Service was top notch, wine list very extensive but well rounded in prices from $30-$100+. Bibb salad was perfection! Chicken Marsala was extremely good but small portion. Would have given 5 stars if that portion was just slightly larger but will come back!
First time and we are looking forward to our next visit. The service was outstanding, the food was some of the best I have had in the North End. I highly recommend dinning at Vinoteca di Monica!
We are long-time Boston residents, and are always a little disappointed in North End italian - pretty traditional italian food - nothing as remarkable as it could or should be. Our favorite restaurant in the area had been "The Daily Catch,"
These guys don't really change the dynamic here - the special was eggplant parm, and there's mostly traditional italian dishes on the menu.
But they make their own pasta, and it is really delicious. So that is what makes this restaurant a find.
We came early on a Friday night (6.00) and it was not crowded, so our service was excellent and we could space out a bit (dinner for 3).
It's a nice choice. And valet parking.
This is my favorite North End restaurant. Always love it here. Great service at the table. Only knocked it down a peg this time because it ran ~1/2 hr late on the reservation. Stuff happens and I’ll never hold it against the place. I just wish we were on time as we rushed the 10 PM improv show. Love it still. Place is a gem.
My husband and I have decided in a neighborhood (the North End) full of Italian restaurant options Vinoteca di Monica is our favorite. The experience is higher end yet approachable, with excellent service, a varied menu and an expansive wine list. Our most recent visit was prompted by a Wall Street Journal article focusing on Amarone, which is one of our favorite Italian red wine varieties, and the difficulties(?) of pairing Amarone with food. Vinoteca di Monica offered several Amarone options, and our server did an excellent job recommending a number of food pairings. My husband opted for the fra diavolo with lobster special, and I chose the beef tenderloin medallions; both dishes were very tasty. Try to save room for their tiramisu!
We were visitors to Boston and knew of Monica's reputation for great Italian food; it did not disappoint. We had the best antipasto special ever and enjoyed our entrees as well. The restaurant was packed for an early Saturday dinner; the ambiance was fun and festive. Great service, too.
Food here never disappoints and the service is always excellent. Meals are always served piping hot in truly authentic Italian sauces. Place is a hidden gem for brunch I always come here with friends on Sundays for 3$ mimosas and delishhhh food.
I have gone to Monica’s a number of times over the years. For date nights and for special occasions. They are always wonderful both food and service. This Saturday was my husbands birthday and I brought my kids to celebrate. They were flexible with the reservation tome due to some scheudling logistics and the food is always fantastic. It was a special night for a big occasion bday. Thank you Monica’s.
Best Italian in the North End of Boston
We really enjoyed our dinner. It was a busy Saturday night but our service and food were very good. The Bibb lettuce salad was excellent. My husband really enjoyed the Bolognese pasta. The lasagna with chicken ragout was also very good.
Recently visited Vinoteco di Monica to celebrate my birthday. My husband and I had a lovely little table tucked into a window nook, and it was like we had our own little room. I loved it! Food was good, wine was yummy, tho my husband ordered a double espresso after dinner and said it was quite weak.
This an excellent Italian restaurant. The ambiance, service and especially the food were all excellent. I will certainly come back on my next trip to Boston.
The service hear is always excellent and I will never get sick of their delicious pastas. My favorite North End restaurant!
This is my second year in a row visiting Boston and this is the best Italian restaurant for seafood in America. Great wine list. Great place for friends to meet and enjoy an amazing meal.
