I can always count on Vino Vino for outstanding service and a cozy and elegant atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Went for a field night out- wine selection was sensational and the cheese tray was just as amazing! The staff were very courteous and service oriented and made certain we were please with our choices. Highly educated on the cheese selections and authenticity to the menu. This place is a hidden gem that everyone should know about and it is tucked aaay right in central Austin! Great escape and ambience! Will surely recommend this place!
Correctly prepared quail. Delicious options. Great wine list. All in an interesting building. Definitely a place to visit more than once.
Vino Vino was a great selection for our Friday night dinner with friends. We started with The 5 cheese tray, olives and soda bread. All excellent but I would suggest a more traditional Tuscan bread instead of the more dense soda bread. We ordered the quail, lamb, and cheese burgers, each dish was tasty and well presented.... there was a good select of wine to complement all of their dishes. The restaurant environment was energetic and had a local tavern sense about it. This was a great place to eat!!
Great happy hour and specials. An amazing wine selection at a good price. Semalier was friendly and made good recommendations.
Really enjoyed happy hour here on Halloween. Wonderful staff. Tasty food and drink. Dinner items look good.
We had six people in our party and decided to do the pre fixe menu. We were all very impressed, everything was delicious! It was a fun meal and we all plan to go back. Sorry it took us so long to find Vino Vino!
Cute neighborhood spot. Interior was charming although it could use some sound dampening. Staff was attentive. The food was delicious: cheese plate, mussels, quail and cannoli. Our bottle of wine was excellent and after dinner cocktail was satisfying. Would definitely go back to sit at the bar for a snack and drink.
Lovely as always
My friend and I went for happy hour and had a lovely time. Their "bad and boozy sangria" was fantastic and we were so glad we tried it. It's only available during happy hour. The cheese plate and snacks were good as well. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable about the cheeses and wine and was very attentive. We will be back to do their pre fixe with pairings dinner very soon.
Vino Vino has an amazing happy hour and an impressive collection of wines; not to mention, their servers have extensive knowledge of pairings - it's absolutely worth a visit! Good for girls nights out, romantic dates, business gatherings, and more.
What a great find! Everything about this place was lovely. Tom, who served us, was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and made great suggestions on food and wine. He even went beyond his duties and wrote us a list of things to check out in Austin and Houston since we’re new to Texas! The food was also perfectly cooked and the goat cheese cheesecake blew my mind! I definitely recommend checking out Vino Vino!
Great wine bar and excellent food courses. We had at least 4 waiters attending to our needs!
The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. The chef was very nice and we enjoyed talking with him as he came out to the table. The drinks were very well priced and well mixed. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date or other occasions.
Delicious food, great wine, love this place!!!
We made a pre-concert visit to Vino Vino. We are loving the new decor and the menu items are very good, too. We enjoyed the cheese plate, although more crackers would have been good. The bread we ordered was very good as well, although it was a specialty bread (soda bread) and not what we expected. The lavender butter is their specialty, but not to my tastes, but the substitute of regular butter worked out well and was quite delicious on the bread. We weren't sure of the by the glass red wines and while the server recommended a special one, when we described our tastes, he readily recommended a different one, and we were really pleased with it. The service was very attentive, although there was a little more of a delay in getting our check at the end, but they were quite busy, so, I understand.
Loved small plate selection and helpful waiter. Wine selection great. Ambience of space was wonderful!
Amazing. Not one thing I would change. One of my favorite meals ever and the pork belly shhok me to my core!
Wonderful Austin discovery! Fresh, seasonal, creative small plates allowed for many tastes. Knowledgeable server directed us to fabulous wines. Happy Hour pricing made it even nicer. Will be back!
Two female friends and I had a very enjoyable dinner on Saturday evening. The caliber of the food and service were outstanding. Even better was that many things we ordered were half price for Happy Hour, even on a Saturday night. These appetizers especially the melon and peach gazpacho were fabulous. The prawns were a little hard to eat but tasty. We had great cocktails from the menu but made a little less sweet as we requested. Service was prompt and friendly but not intrusive. The ambience is wonderful. I heartily recommend the place. I just wish it could be my once a week go-to place but I don't exactly live in the neighborhood. It's worth a drive across town though.
Like remodeled space - much quieter than previously.
Very limited menu - kinda expensive for the serving size - 3 piece of cheese, 3 chips, little dab of honey, little dab of preserves @ $12
Very friendly & knowledgeable staff
I used to go to here often but had not yet been there since they had redone the place. We ate in the new dining area which was quieter than the previous room setup. My biggest thing is that the menu has fewer items before and there was no list of bottles to buy. Maybe they didn’t offer who knew.
I won’t come here for a meal again just for drinks and snacks.
Chef Ben is awesome and the food is deliscious! This outgoing talented chef salvaged our meal by stopping at our table to chat and creating a great meal--unfortunately my positive review has to stop there. Even though we had reservations and the place was at 60% capacity, we were still seated at a horrible table. Our waiter took a full 15 minutes to get to us, another 15 to get my drink, told me he could not make a certain drink then delivered same drink to my tablemate an hour later when she ordered it and had to be repeatedly asked again and again for items. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but the service we received was really appalling. With wait staff and hostess training this restaurant could be great!
For a wine place (Vino), the wine selection was abysmal. I have seem better wine selections at Whole Foods. The food selection was equally abysmal, and nothing to rave about. I don't think I will return.
Terrific evening at Vino Vino's happy hour with an out-of-town guest. Cocktails and wine were spot on, and our small plate selections were divine. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable service. A great experience!
Great service. Excellent food and service.
We had 8 girls from our FB group Women of Austin 30+ attend a happy hour and it was the perfect spot for it! Lots of seating and stellar service to top off the excellent happy hour deals! #woatx
This was a 'checklist' stop for us, as we try to hit all the restaurants in Central and North Austin. The burger was very good. The orrichiette was good, but not 'oh my gosh' good. They were out of my first choice for beer, but my wife enjoyed her wine, although their per-glass prices were kinda steep. However, it was happy hour, so beer was half-off, and wines per glass were reduced, too, so it might be a good happy hour spot!
We were guided to good wine choices as you’d expect in a place known for wine. However, my wife had to tell the sommelier/waiter twice she wanted a French wine, not a Napa one. My steak frites plate was the best meal on the table. My wife’s mussels were sadly overcooked. We are appreciative of attentive service, but our waiter came by way too often and just as our conversations with friends took shape. In all, we will come back but after we’ve tried other similar spots in Austin.
Service needed help. The Steak frites cost $27 for four thinly sliced pieces of steak and tons of mediocre fries :(. Crab fritters were good value and good.
I've been to Vino Vino a number of times. Food and service are consistently good. This last time, however, the hostess dropped the ball on confirming our Open Table reservation. Upon arrival - as always - I gave my name, number of people in my party and that the booking was made via Open Table. The hostess seemed clueless, but we were seated right away. I received an email the next day from OT stating that I did not show for the reservation. Later that day, I called Vino Vino and asked them to contact OT to confirm that I indeed dined there the previous night. The VV follow up request was not fulfilled. I eventually received credit for my booking, but not with a lot of unnecessary time spent on doing so. Lesson? Make sure that the host/hostess confirms your OT reservation before you leave the restaurant.
On our annual visit to Vino Vino we were thrilled by the friendly, professional staff and manager. The wine selection was really fun. A real break from the usual. We had a bottle of very good Spanish Mencia. For food we selected the cheese plate, mussels, roasted poussin, and chicken liver mousse. The mousse was especially amazing. We were there on a Monday and appreciated the $2 discount on the the snacks.
We were disappointed that the patio area was not available due to remodeling.
Vino Vino was our first date. It was and remains very special to us. We highly recommend it.
What a wonderful place! Came from out of town and everyone was so friendly and attentive. Servers were knowledgeable and even recommended places to visit. I know this will be my Austin go-to wine bar and dinner spot.
Pretty dimly lit bar, but has a nice ambience. The plates were quite small and expensive for the portion size. The wines were also very pricey. Butterscotch pudding dessert was the best part.
First time there on recommendations of several coworkers. Not disappointed. Great food, good wine choices. Dinner lagged some slower than we would have liked even though it was not that crowded. Attentive wait staff recognized delay, apologized and provide complimentary after dinner drink as a result. We will be back!
Vino vino seemed overpriced for the amount of food my friend and I received. Despite the ambiance of the restaurant and the reviews we've read online, we did not like the food we ordered (cheese plate and burgers) or the cocktails.
Wait staff was amazing. Nice spot for conversation with yummy snacks and a nice glass of wine. Cheers!
A wonderful experience for a couple of snowbirds on the last night in Texas.
Very disappointed there was no Seafood Medley. I tried the mussels but they were very fishy and a disappointment.
