This is absolutely the best restaurant I've been to in NYC.
We really enjoyed the restaurant. Food was excellent. Many vegetarian choices, even vegan, but not just that. Hummus and fattoush were delicious and we had a sea bass baked with fragrant herbs and spices that was fabulous! Service was friendly, wine selection excellent. Just a lovely neighborhood find. Right across from Symphony Space.
Another unforgettable evening at Vino Levantino. The owner helped us pick the wine, which was spectacular. The tuna tartare was so delicious and the hummus is I think the best in NYC. Tried the new menu item, Turkish meatballs, which were incredible. Ended with a Turkish lava cake which was also so so good. I will be back very very soon
Great wine bar ambiance, great non meat small plate selection, fair value, service could be improved.
Hard to be positive about a middle eastern restaurant where the falafel was passable, the tahini worse than the standard container I get at the store, and the hummus without taste (supermarket Sabra brand far better). My $15 three cheese plate featured rubbery mozzarella and supposedly a tomato and olive cheese whose name the waiter couldn’t remember that bore a suspicious resemblance to pepper jack cheese. They were out of one of the wines we ordered. Really, really wanted to like this place but I won’t be going back. :(
Very good Mediterranean food and only a block from Symphony Space.
Nice spot to grab a drink and a bite with friends/family
We went to Vino Levantino to meet with friends on New Year’s eve before heading to a late dinner. The service and ambiance were great and drinks were up to everyone’s expectations. Great place to for a relaxed evening with friends.
Amelia was so helpful. wine by the glass, even during happy hour, was way above average. In fact, actually not only unusually drinkable, but actually good. At dinner, the $17 Barolo was okay, but the $10 Cabernet Sauvignon (2016) from Lazio, Italy, was better.
The stuffed eggplant, essentially a hummus plate wrapped in an eggplant skin, was delicious. Perfectly done. They could have included the pita without the extra charge.
Only negative: typically small tables crowded together, so noise level made dinner conversation nearly impossible. Go with your partner and talk when you get home.
Food is fine but expensive for what it is and what the place is like.
My main course could have been hotter, it was just warm.
They charged us for something we didn’t order on the check.
Went here for dinner after a show at Symphony Space abd it was wonderful. Have been here before but mostly for wine and a snack. The varied selections of small plates and entrees is wonderful and everything we had was great. Beautiful wines! Will definitely go back and often
Great place to meet friends! We’ll definitely go again.
My friend and I both had the turkey burger on brioche roll and shared the tiramisu. Both were excellent. Too bad they don't take AmEx.
Quaint little place with a nice bar and limited seating. The food was good to very good, but not memorable. I'd recommend this place for for drinks and appetizers at the bar,
great food and wine at a reasonable price, nice atmosphere
What a great find! We loved that they had two entrees with “vegan” in their name l but it would be a greater benefit to vegan patrons if all vegan dishes on the menu (and there were several others) were identified in some way (perhaps with a letter or symbol) as it’s not always obvious. I especially liked the shredded root vegetable salad as I never had a salad like it before and it was delicious and very fresh. Also liked the Fattoush Salad. My only disappointment with the Moroccan Style Cod Fish was that it was tender and flavorful that I wished I could control myself so I would have some leftover to bring home with me. It was sooo good. My (vegan) daughter loved the vegan cheese plate which had an interesting variety and there is a regular cheese plate for non-vegans. I’m looking forward to going back.
Delicious, creative dishes. Several vegan/veg options. Friendly servers, delightful atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit to NYC.
Our waiter/owner was fantastic. He went out of his way to allow us to sit outside to have the best experience. The food was terrific, fabulous wine and service. I will definitely make this a destination when in town.
This lovely little restaurant has really expanded its vegan options in the last few years. Beautiful Mediterranean decor, with pretty tables outside as well. Very friendly staff. Delicious, creative menu.
The service & ambience were excellent, the food mixed. I think we didn’t order wisely. We ordered 3 appetizers & they were excellent. The two fish meals were also excellent, the tuna burger and salmon on skewers. But the two vegetarian main dishes (vegan mousses and cauliflower) were poor, bland and not filling. Coffee machine was out of order so we skipped dessert. I’d go back and try again though.
We thought it was an excellent choice for eating kosher out. The menu was creative and the appetizers and main courses were excellent. The only complaint was that the dessert we chose was not as advertised. But we would definitely return!
Unique menu with really nice vegan options.
Meals (Cod, Bronzini, Vegan Moussaka) were delicious and plentiful.
Lovely spot, good food. Great for quiet conversation.
Interesting and flavorful take on Middle Eastern cuisine. Nice wine list as well.
Outstanding small, quiet neighborhood location for quiet dinner.
I Enjoyed the experience and the food. It was nice to sit outside on a beautiful evening in New York City and I have a nice glass of rose wine and good food
The quality and taste was incredibly delicious. We had the falafel, mashed cauliflower, okra, hummus, and babaganoush. The service was terrific. I suggest you make a reservation, the restaurant gets packed.
Really appreciated the opportunity to have quality vegan cuisine (the menu accommodates omnivores, as well). The shredded root vegetable salad was crisp and delicious, and my friend enjoyed her roasted eggplant. But the service is what really made the experience special. Jonathan and Yusuf were kind and helpful from the moment I called to say we’d be late. Warm, friendly, down-to-earth, real people who are solicitous without going overboard. Wish I still lived on the UWS so I could go there more often
Having dinner with one of my oldest friends who I hadn't seen in a long time was totally pleasurable at Vino Levantino because the staff was 100% cordial and sweet. We took a long time to order because once we started chatting, it was hard to stop. The server did not pressure us to order. When we finally did, and ate our delicious meal (2 different salmon dishes) , there was no pressure for us to finish and get out. We stayed as long as we wanted to. The only time the noise level rose was when the table next to us got filled with happy people, but we left before it got unpleasant. I would definitely go back and recommend it to friends.
I liked Vino Levantino's ambiance and it provides a good setting for a first date. I only got drinks here and not food. But I don't think the drink prices were that great. Vino Levantino's happy hour ends at 6 pm, which is strange. Furthermore, the waiters did not refill our waters after we ordered our second drinks.
Good place for eating before anything at Symphony Space. Med applies were good- had tasty herring and Bourekas. Impossible and Tuna Berger’s good; nice SB wine. Not fancy but a nice neighborhood vibe.
Very cute place with lovely ambiance, however there were many items on the menu not available. The food that we had was good enough and I would return primarily for the ambiance.
We had a lovely time and will go back again!
Cute place! Good food, babaganoush particularly excellent, good wine for an average price. Service was spotty as its only two people even at the dinner rush. Will be back.
Really nice atmosphere, great food. Our server was super obliging too.
Attentive staff, delicious tapas style plates that pair well with wine, and great wines to choose from!
I really liked the vibe of Vino Levantino - it's a cute place and gets pretty lively on a Saturday night. But I don't think the food was THAT good. It was all fine - nothing bad at all, but nothing very good either. I liked the tuna tartare the most but the cheese plate and hummus plate were pretty wanting, and the other dishes we got were solidly mediocre. The service was excellent though and a pretty good wine list!
There was a large party (we were told it was an engagement party) but the service was spotty -- there's no reason to wait 20 minutes for baba ganooj, which only requires plating and cutting up some pita, or for them to forget water after being asked for. And the place is normally acceptably noisy, but the large party somehow made us have to nearly scream to be heard at a table for two. But that was a different experience than previous visits.... everyone is entitled to an off day.
Food and ambiance were great. Can't wait to go back.
Very interesting & eclectic middle eastern menu. It offered a variety of dishes & interesting flavor combinations. Nice wine selections.
