Food and ambiance were great. Can't wait to go back.
Very interesting & eclectic middle eastern menu. It offered a variety of dishes & interesting flavor combinations. Nice wine selections.
Despite motivation and kindness the service felt a little unprofessional e.g. pouring a glass of wine with cork and tannins. The food was good although one dish was « sold out » even though we were there for the early service. We were also caught of hard by the absence of meat options. Open table should lamb on the menu. In any case, an ok option if you’re looking to change. Not ideal for a date night with a mostly meat eater.
Subpar food, too pricy, few choices. Online menu is misleading
This is a nice neighborhood restaurant. The menu on Open Table and Yelp is outdated, though, as they now serve only fish and vegetarian and vegan options, no chicken or meat. Pretty loud, as there's a bar along one wall.
I ordered the vegan moussaka -- a big mistake. It was rubbery and virtually flavorless. The room, like most NY restaurants, was very noisy, making \conversation difficult. I won'be go-ing back anytime soon.
Honestly? We were surprised how good the food was. Quiet evening, the weather was dreadful.
The baba ganoush is delicious but a $17 quinoa and avocado salad that has minuscule pieces of avocado was disappointing. Order something else. Great ambience though.
Delicious food and wines. Had a mediocre cocktail it thsts not their forte. Loved it so much went back the next night( Saturday) when it was much much more crowded and noisy.
They moved us from our table to make room for a big group and then gave us a complimentary dessert we didn’t like. Would have been better to ask what we wanted if they were going to do this. So just don’t go on Saturday night!!
The salads were delicious and loved the grilled zucchini
Best hummus I have eaten since I was in Egypt
Nice restaurant. Heavy vegetarian and vegan menu.
For a wine bar to not know the wines on their list nor have the first 3(!) bottles I selected was a fairly grim introduction. It didn’t get better from there...though the salmon burger, uninspiring to look at, was delicious.
Vino Levantino was a wonderful surprise, as I was expecting it to be noisy, but it turned out to be a beautifully and dimly lit experience. One of the best places I've been to in the city for quiet conversation, making the date very memorable.
The wine, ambiance, food and service here is generally great. On our last visit though, half of the entrees arrived cold at the table. This is more of a kitchen timing than service issue and while it doesn't matter much with the small plates, it makes a communal dinner less than enjoyable. Could be easily improved and looking forward to our next meal.
Interesting Mediterranean/mid-eastern menu with great vegan (and kosher) options. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere (and a gorgeous crystal chandelier).
We had a 9:00 reservation on a Thursday night and they were out of half the menu. What we did select was very good
Amazing restaurant!!! My new favorite neighborhood spot!
I often go to Vino Levantino before a performance at Symphony space. The wait staff is lovely and there is a superb happy hour menu. The atmosphere is cozy, quiet and friendly. This is a wonderful restaurant for vegetarians, as there are some innovative dishes to try.
Very Disappointed! We have eaten there several times and always enjoyed our meal...not this time. My vegetable moussaka was bland...the desert baklava took 20 minutes to arrive and had been left in the oven/microwave too long and was over "cooked", and the wine, while very good, came in a child portion...two sips and it was gone. Finally, we have a 10% discount thru Symphony space that could not be honored, i.e. the "manager" had left already and noone else could/would handle it...
Don't know what happened ...but they lost a customer....
Food was creative and delicious. Plenty for me to eat as a vegetarian- in fact, hard to choose from all the options. Vegan lasagna was delicious, root salad crunchy and good, cauliflower and chick peas delicious. Wait staff pleasant and available. Nice little place, nice ambiance. Near Symphony Space.
I had great hopes based on previous reviews. The grilled eggplant bruschetta was fair and overpriced. The cucumber salad was copious but tasted mostly of vinager. The root veggie salad was copious but not delicious. The biggest disappointment was the baklava. Non interest in returning.
Unfortunately the food wasn't amazing and the service was terrible. Ambiance was great and the space very cute, I would recommend going there for drinks but not to eat.
Excellent authentic food and service very nice. Great place for a casual lunch with friends in the neighborhood.
Went two nights while we were in New York. Food was creative and delicious. Noise level is high but everyone was having a good time. Wine list is extensive and interesting with wines from around the globe.
Wonderful place. Great wine food and service and you can carry on a conversation without shouting. We will be back
Great neighborhood spot with interesting specials. I had the fettuccine with lemon cream sauce special and it was amazing (extra generous portion size). Always a solid choice.
Wonderful and quiet, completely charming. Great vegan Dairy menu. reasonable price for very tasty food...and terrific wine list! Recommending it to all my UWS friends.
I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at this restaurant and the fact that THEY DO NOT RUSH YOU!!! It was lovely to be with friends and to be able to take our time with drinks, socializing and the meal. The service was also relaxed and pleasant and we just felt generally welcome. Thank you!
Food was mostly bland. The pita and hummus was good but the moussaka was extremely bland. Even after adding salt and pepper, it still just tasted like nearly raw squash. The wine was decent and not terribly expensive. Overall, the restaurant setting was nice and the service was great. The food was just a let down.
Amazing food. Chaim takes great in providing the best ingredients for a creative menu. Delicious!!!!
small, small portions - the entrees were no bigger than the small plates
food was okay, but not great. rather bland
no air conditioning! no fans! way too hot!
I had the pleasure of dining at Vino Levantino the other night and was blown away by the food, wine list and service. Our waiter recommended some amazing dishes that were delicious and I also had an amazing red wine to accompany our meal from Israel that is now a new favorite. I am already looking forward to dining there again soon and showing some of my friends this hidden gem!
Great, Friendly Bartender. BUT, No Chardonnay (they ran out) at 8.00 PM and only 10 people there. No Chardonnay, and the other choices were limited and mediocre. Could be a great place but you must have a selection of wines. Did I mention they are a wine bar. I would give them a second chance because of the Bartender with hopes they pick up a couple of cases of varied wines.
Wonderful outdoor seating and perfect for a 5pm glass of vino.
The food was mostly great, with one exception--a roasted eggplant dish that was pretty bland, needed some smoke and salt. The place is small and cute, and very busy. The service was really slow and inattentive. Took forever to get our food, water glasses never refilled, waiter came by once to see how we were doing. Tiny place and hard to get people's attention.
A friend recommended the restaurant and it was very good. It is totally my type of food so I loved the menu. I could have eaten many diff things and the service and staff were very nice!
The food was phenomenal! So fresh, every bite was worth savoring. As a vegetarian, I had dishes that I haven't found elsewhere, and so well spiced. My husband also enjoyed the wine and the wine list. The waiter was very personable and overall- we had a really great experience. It was very quiet there but I understand that we were early for a Saturday night crowd, so I don't know how quiet it would be if we had gone a little later.
Overall I’d rate my experience a 3. I plan to go back for late night wine and cheese or maybe brunch. My dinner experience wasn’t as great as I’d hoped, I waited 40 minutes for my food to come even though the place was pretty much empty. Also, the entrees were small portions for the price. He ambiance is really nice and warm which is the sole reason I plan to go back. It’s a good late night spot for wine and cheese but I don’t think I’d go here for dinner plans again. Thankfully, me friend and I had time to spare so we didn’t complain about the slow service.
We sat outside on a nice summer night. Service was good. My friends loved their salmon skewers and my falafel was good. However, the kale tabouleh salad was the worst salad I've ever had. It was just a massive hunk of overdressed, bitter kale, with a few dried fruit pieces sprinkled in. I wish I sent it back.
I would return here, but urge you to not order the kale tabouleh salad!!
