Vino Italian Tapas & Wine Bar
Vino is a charming, casual, neighborhood bistro, a place to hang out. Our foods are Mediterranean inspired — nothing fancy... just good home cooking! We make our own pasta, our own bread, our own sausage & work with as many farms & local producers as we can. Welcome to our home. Please enjoy...
cumin aioli, pickled red cabbage & zaatar brown butter
Grilled Spanish Octopus
smoked ham hock ragu & white beans
Crispy Brussels Sprouts
pickled jalapeno, konbu aioli & pistachio nuts
The food was delicious and everyone very accommodating to our being late for our reservation and the anxiety over COVID-19. I am so glad I was able to celebrate my birthday in one of my favorite restaurants.
Always a treat to dine and wine at Vino!
great service and menu
just our taste but music too loud to converse and temperature too cold for comfort
Awesome food and wine.
Great overall experience!
We ordered a little of everything, passed each dish around the table to share and every bite was delicious. We tried the garlic shrimp and charred broccoli for the first time. The shrimp and scallops were outstanding. We also enjoyed our favorites of calamari and cauliflower. The special lamb dish was prepared creatively. Finished the meal with the yummy apple tart.
Our server was particularly kind and patient with the keiki, remembered their favorite beverage (something pink) and delivered their childs’ meals precisely as they requested. (Tricky task) She paid close attention to everything going on at the table and anticipated what we might want.
Chuck came by the table and suggested a perfect red wine within our price point for our meal. His visits always adds more enjoyment to the evening.
Since it was our first visit Chuck sat down at our table and explained the dishes on the menu. The voices were spot on. We will definitely be back.
Always exceeds expectations. This is my most frequented restaurant
Everything was great and we were all happy there!
Definitely be back there soon!!
We recently Celebrated my Wife’s Birthday and was lucky that the private upstairs room was available to accommodate are entire family along Grandchildren, including an infant, and 2 toddlers.
The food was amazing as usual, The appetizers, Bristol Bay Scallops were the best we’ve ever had. Along with the medley of cheeses and the Octopus dish were the “Bomb”! The vegetables were delicious and luckily at the recommendation of our host, we ordered 1 of each!
Our entrees, from the Seafood Linguine, Pasta Carbonara, Ciopinio, the Rib Eye Steaks were perfectly presented and our desserts, the flourless chocolate cake, apple tart, and lemon poopy seed cake closed the show! Wow everything was amazing.
Thank you Ann, Heather, and of course Chuck for stopping by and trying out his humor over wine suggestions, stick to the wine choices Chuck, haha.
Thank you all for a great evening Celebrating my wife’s Special Birthday, will be back for sure!
The gravy on the lamb chops was much too salty and I did not enjoy my meal at all.
we enjoyed the food and wine pairings. Michiko was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food and wines.
Service was amazing. Jewel is always attentive and knowledgeable. Food quality is outstanding. Everything came out hot and delicious.
Good food and service as always.
Absolutely exceptional. Depth and breadth of wine list is almost without peer - at all price levels. Menu is varied - and everything was great. This restaurant is the definition of a “hidden gem”.
Food selection was outstanding, food quality was too salty. A little too loud to enjoy as a non-drinker, if your intention is date night with conversation.
It was on our birthday vacation we were recommended to go to Vino. It was a great dinner our waiter was excellent and the price was extremely reasonable!
Very good experience. Service, food, wine, and price was spot on. We even got personal service from Chuck Furuya(our personal sommelier)the whole night. He helped to wine and entertain us all night. What a treat! Excellent Valentines night!! Much Mahalos!!
Very Delicious! Homemade pastas with amazing flavors!! This isn't my first time here and it never disappoints! Must visit! Also, Great wine list!
The staff at Vinos are all amazing. The bartender was very knowledgeable about his drinks and our server was just lovely and always on top of things.
Went here for a date night. The restaurant is small and cozy, we had a choice of dining upstairs and we chose that.
It was very intimate setting and there was only two other tables that had patrons upstairs. The restaurant was quite busy but the service was on point.
Tara was a joy to have as a server as she explained the dishes and what she preferred. The bread was excellent and tasted just like the bread I used to eat it Italy.
The wine selections were very good and reasonably priced.
We has the crab gnocchi, vongole, rucola salad, the lobster special and the fried chop.
The food was very tasty and came out in a timely manner. We will be back.
The best place in town for great wine and pasta. Chuck Furuya is known for his ability to discover great wines. He is a genius at sniffing out and befriending producers across the globe with his knowledge and engaging personality. The result is the best wine list in town. The menu is simple but the food is always great. Homemade pastas, fresh vegetables and sauces with amazing flavors. Vino's is the go to place.
We live a block away, eat out every Saturday night and have been meaning to try Vino. As we were discussing where to go on this night we were watching HI Now and Vino was featured, wallah!
We were not disappointed! Enjoyed the featured wine selections, wonderful Spanish octopus, fettuccine con vongole and the apple tart dessert. Also memorable, the olive oil, which elevated the otherwise mediocre complementary bread. All in all, a great evening.
Our server was a pleasure, very attentive and knew their menu well offering good suggestions. The owner stopped by to chat as well!
We recommend Vino and will return soon.
Don’t miss the crispy Brussel sprouts! It’s off the main drag, but worth the short taxi ride. Pasta was homemade & delicious, lamb cooked to perfection. The ‘busboy’ stopped by our table to make sure we’re enjoying ourselves, he was the owner, hiding from his wife. Service was excellent & friendly. Definitely go again on our next trip to the island.
This is no question
The Best place for food wine expertise on both
2nd time visit while on our honeymoon!
Good food, great service..
What else do you need.
My go to restaurant on Oahu.
We really enjoyed the Bristol Bay Scallops appetizer so much, we placed a second order. Actually all the food we ordered were enjoyed immensely. We went on this day, since it was Oyster night. The other appetizers we had were the Grilled Spanish Octopus (very delicious) and a 10oz. New York Steak.
We sat at the bar and had excellent wine recommendations from Brent and great service, he was always attentive to our needs. We didn't need to ask for anything, he made sure our water glasses were full with ice and water, pouring our wine, we didn't have to pour once. Amazing job he did considering, he still had other customers and making drinks for the servers to take to the dinner tables.
The added bonus is Chuck Furuya, always greets his guest, makes time to talk story, and have fun with his "taping game".
Did the tasting menu with wine pairing... amazing!
Food was great, except wife had a chicken caeser salad and the chicken was very tough - almost inedible
The roasted brussel sprouts was delicious!
Great food, server was knowledgeable about the food and wine. Very enjoyable evening. Thank you!
Food was fabulous food and excellent service by the staff. They were very accommodating, friendly and resourceful. Love the emphasis on local produce.
The cuisine is consistently good. We dine family-style and enjoy trying several dishes.
Ann and the servers are warm, welcoming, professional, and knowledgable about guiding guests through the menu and wine selections.
There is no favorite dish, we enjoyed them all!
Well crafted Italian cuisine, and fresh made pasta that is the best in Honolulu. The wine is the main course here, and the very extensive wine list has a great selection of both domestic and European wines.
Disappointed not given the "keychain" special pricing for the dinners we ordered
The food never disappoint each time I go here! We came here to celebrate a birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It was so interesting hearing about the history of the restaurant and the owner’s mission to create the home atmosphere. The gnocchi with crab was delicious, along with veal chop and lamb that my mother and I had. We shared the octopus and veal meatballs for appetizer. The flavor of each dish was superb, with careful attention to details. We even got extra bread to eat the sauce with! Such a lovely dinner.
Wow! The personal attention and service here was amazing. Further, the food was beyond belief so good. We had New Years Eve dinner here for four and every one of us came away with a smile and talking about how good it was. Thanks so much for making our night memorable!
Storm our server was outstanding!
To start we had the Caesar salad and a glass of red based on Storm listening to our profile then we followed his recommendation, spot on.
The food was good too, we had from the specials the fire roasted rib eye, best steak we have had in a long time including all the top tier steak houses in town. From the regular menu we decided on the branzino.
Not much room for desert so we settled on the mango sorbet.
Excellent food, excellent menu, excellent wine list. Chuck is wonderful and all the staff.
