Vino At The Landing Ratings and Reviews
Always love visiting Vino. Truly appreciate the robust bottle selection available; food quality and service is consistently wonderful. On this visit the place was packed full - which is great - but it's the first time we noticed how incredibly loud it can get. Maybe it's time for an investment in a few acoustic panels...
My husband and I tried it for Valentine's Day and had a great time! I don't remember our server's name, but he was an energetic and polite young black gentleman. We had a quiet table in the corner. Although the restaurant was pretty busy, the atmosphere, to me, felt still very intimate.
We really like Vino's. However, lately their pours seem to be on the short side, barely 2 oz it seems costing almost $5 for a half glass. Not really half a glass though. We used to love the Vino Platter and order it every visit. Think we will stop though. Cheese selection has changed, no more olive tapenade ( this was my favorite item on the platter) and no more specialty olives. Hardly worth the cost of $20.00. Yes they did add an artichoke tapenade and pesto in place of the olive tapenade but not as good for me. They did replace the specialty olives (Kalamata) with regular green olives. Not a good choice. Just not worth the cost anymore. Still enjoy the place, just won't order the platter anymore.
I've been to Vino with my book club at least three times now, and each time I'm impressed with their service, the laid-back atmosphere, delicious food and wine options. Their servers are very attentive without hovering, and we don't feel pressured to order/eat/leave in a certain time frame. I enjoy the quietness and background music at the restaurant, and it is well suited for both groups and couples or singles to come enjoy a glass of wine or two and some good food.
The restaurant was able to handle a last min change to our reservation of adding another person. But they seemed understaffed. The staff was nice enough however once we were done with our food and beverages we weren't offered our bill when we turned down anything else. Then we waited for another 45 min to get our check. They did split the check without asking which was helpful. However I had to go and take the payments back to the hostess to get someone to process them. Thankfully our plans for the evening where fairly flexible or else the lag in service would have really put a damper on our evening.
First let me just say that the Mrs and I very much enjoy the food at Vino. Some of the wines we've tried on the "flights" haven't been quite what we enjoy, but wine is objective to each their own. We initially fell in love with the mushroom bruschetta! Our first dining experience there we ended up ordering it twice it was so good! Our last dining experience had us trying it again, and it was just as good, my only complaint would be it lacked enough mushrooms. On our first visit, the mushroom portions were very generous, on our last visit you could almost tell they were rationing. Only 2 small mushrooms per bruschetta.
Overall the ambiance was nice, it can be a little loud in the main room, but the farther you get away from the entrance (in the side room), the quieter it gets. We've tried and enjoyed the creamy shrimp linguini (but again, the shrimp portions were terrible on our 2nd visit, literally counted 3 small shrimp in a large pasta bowl), the bacon wrapped scallops are very good.
For walking away (after tip) with a bill for two people in excess of $140, I'd expect more generous portions of said ingredients listed above, but if you've got the money, then you'll probably have a nice date or whatever function finds you there.
A great venue for gathering with friends , family or just being there ! The staff is friendly , even the kitchen staff who occasionally pass by greet all customers with a friendly smile . The wine and beer selections are great, and the outstanding bar manager ,Egypt, knows his wines and recommends with great results ! The tapas are delicious. Choice of musicians on Saturdays is always crowd pleasing! I have been there many times with friends and family, and we love what Rick has created at VINOS at the Landing!
The restaurant door was open and so it let flys in and on top of that there was many fruit flies.!? Kept landing on our wine glass which was unpleasant. I ordered the artichoke dip and Mac n cheese which was delish, but the bacon wrapped dates were not tasty at all and the presentation was unattractive.
This was my first visit to Vino. It was a great find! My friend and I sat on the patio, and there was little background noise making it very easy to catch up. We arrived during happy hour and received a great deal on our wine. I ordered the beef stew and house salad. Both were excellent!
LOVED the food-- planned to only eat half and take half home for lunch the next day.... But it was so delicious I ate it all! The service was amazingly attentive and personable, she made the meal very enjoyable. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a large group and they were very loud.. the design of the restaurant/the acoustics weren't equipped for this and it made it so that our party (of only 3 people total) had a very hard time hearing each other. For that reason alone, I would only eat here if we could eat outside. Delicious food though for real! And parking near by is easy and accessible.
Nothing special. We were meeting a friend for lunch in Renton and this came up with decent reviews on Open Table. We went and it was just OK. Had two glasses of an outstanding Syrah and they do have a really nice wine list that is all available by the glass. Server was very nice but considering we were the only ones there it often was hard to find her.
We had bruschetta for an appetizer which was also just OK. The bread could have been a lot better. It tasted like french bread you would buy in a grocery store as opposed to a bakery. The tomatoes could have been a lot more ripe.
Our entrées were a beef panini for me and a curry chicken wrap for my wife. Both were fine and came with tomato soup or chips. We went with the soup and it was just OK.
Would not go back. There are plenty of other places at the Landing to try if we have to meet this friend again in Renton...which I surely hope we don't as Renton is not exactly the home of great cuisine.
We've been to Vino at the Landing several times now (once for lunch and twice for dinner) and have always loved our food. The Caprese and House salads are perfectly delicious. I ordered the creamy shrimp linguini both times for dinner because I liked it so much. There are other things on the menu I want to try but it's hard for me to get past that shrimp pasta. My partner had the sausage linguini and reported it to be very good. Sandwiches at lunch are more interesting than the standard selection at most places (I've had the curried chicken and I recommend it). Our waiters have always been very personable and competent. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I kept sliding down the chair at their higher, counter-height tables because the surface is a little slick (I was wearing jeans) and you can't put your feet on the floor to stay in place. In order to avoid sliding, I had to sit in a position that wasn't as comfortable. But food is the number one concern, and for that they get 5 stars. We'll be back again and again.
Fantastic service even during the busiest of times. Tara and the staff do a fantastic job making sure the guests are well taken care of. The wait staff is top notch and the crab cake special is over the top. Eli hit a home run with this one. Cant wait to go back for seconds.
Rick you've done a great job putting this gem in place.
Tucked away among the many mainstream dining establishments is this gem, vino. For oenophiles to spectators of wine alike vino has an exceptional selection along with a knowledgable staff. Likewise, if you're looking a pleasant evening with close friends or leave an impressionable experience on that first date vino is perfect. In vino veritas...
