Since discovering Vinny’s, I take visitors there to impress them with Alpharetta. Another night of great food!
The food was outstanding! The service left a little bit to be desired.
In fairness, our server was extremely busy but it definitely showed. We have dined at Vinny's on multiple occasions, and the food is always outstanding. On this particular occasion, we were celebrating an anniversary and the noise level was off the charts loud which made it very difficult to communicate and uncomfortable. We will be back because of the food, but will likely pick a different time of evening to dine.
Usually very noisy (all the brick and concrete makes the sound "bounce").
I sat outside on the patio - much better for me since it wasn't so noisy.
Excellent food, professional staff! We’ve dined at the restaurant since 1996, always a lot of fun.
My family and I had a wonderful Mother’s Day Lunch. Everything was perfect- the food, the service. It was a very enjoyable experience.
Mother’s Day brunch.
Had the worst seat ——the hostesses were literally arguing at our table about seating -
Food choices were very limited —-
I made reservations for myself and 5 friends who all went to our prom. The servers were very attentive and our meal was delicious. Thank you for making our night extra special.
We had dinner for my daughter’s 21st birthday there and she loved it. It was the perfect setting.
Have dined at Vinny's many times and this was my first bad experience. Five people in our group, and the first 3 meals came out about 10 minutes before the final 2. They were very apologetic about the chicken sandwiches taking so long -- can't image what that problem was with them. That delay made it awkward -- you encourage the other people to eat so their meals don't get cold and they feel rude doing that.
The PEI mussels seemed to be past their 'prime' and were deemed inedible by the person who ordered them. But, we had already had such delays getting food that she didn't want to reorder anything else.
Great venue that I haven't been to in few years. Food was very good & service was attentive, but not overly pushy.
Vinny's has been on Windward since the beginning, maybe 20 yrs. Had a less than stellar meal there 15 yrs ago and stayed away for a while, but I'd say they've got their game back on track. Have eaten there maybe 6-7 times in past 6 months and food, staff, bar have been top notch each time. This occasion I took 8 from my work team out for dinner; good food, good service, good ambience, affordable wine list, and all comments were very favorable from the group.
Was expecting a little more upscale. However, overall experience was pleasant.
A very pleasant evening meal after catching a movie. Great service and excellent food.
Terrible service. Our waiter rarely checked on us and took forever to even put bread on the table. We kept having to ask for it. Then he sat a piping hot bowl of Mac n cheese in front of my 1yr old daughter. He was slow on drinks as well. He kept saying the restaurant was too crazy busy that night and that’s why he kept forgetting about us. I think because we had a child and we’re dress casually in workout clothes.... he sized us up and figured we would not be a good top. His other tables seemed to get great service. I had the gnocchi with veal meatballs and ended up getting sick later on in the evening. All and all our meal took 2 1/2 hours for 2 adults and a baby. I’ve been to Vinny’s several times and never had this experience but likely will never go back.
VINNY'S HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BIT LOUD BUT ADD TO THAT A GROUP OF SCREAMING CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS ALLOWED THEM TO RUN AROUND THE TABLE MADE IT WAS WORSE THAN EVER. IN THE "GOOD OLD DAYS" VINNY'S WAS NOT A RESTAURANT THAT PARENTS WOULD HAVE EVEN THOUGHT TO BRING THEIR RAMBUNCTIOUS CHILDREN. IT USE TO BE NICE FOR A DATE NIGHT, FRIENDS' NIGHT OR A BUSINESS MEETING. WE MADE PLANS WITH FRIENDS LATE IN THE WEEK AND RESERVATIONS WERE THIN AROUND TOWN SO WE SETTLED ON VINNY'S. THANK GOODNESS THE WEATHER WAS WARM ENOUGH TO DINE ON THE OUTDOOR PATIO, WHICH IS QUITE NICE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE OUTDOOR PATIO WAS NOT NICE ENOUGH TO REPLACE BELOW AVERAGE PLATES. THE FOOD IS INCONSISTENT AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS. THEY NEED TO HIRE AN EXPERIENCED CHEF AND STAFF, REVITALIZE THE OLD BORING MENU AND BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO A RESTAURANT THAT NEEDS TO REINVENT ITSELF. THAT SAID, THE WAIT STAFF IS THE BEST IN TOWN AND THE WINE LIST IS GOOD.
First time to Vinny’s and it was mediocre at best. Service was terrible, food was cold. I ordered the scallop risotto, only 2 small scallops that tasted fishy, several over-cooked shrimp and crunchy risotto that was over powered by the truffle oil. We watched a man whom appeared to be with mgt pass our table multiple times to deliver bottles of wine to another table but didn’t seem to have time to check on us. We would’ve said something about the food but our server never checked in us again.
Honestly, this may just be a beer & pizza joint with valet. The arugula salad was good but I don’t think they could’ve messed that up?
Always great and consistent service. Food is tasty. Good lunch portions.
Everything about it was great, but Alan’s special attention to detail and outstanding service made it a special place for us to have a business lunch with our customers.
We always have my birthday dinner here. The overall experience and food are always outstanding and last night was no exception!
Ate an entire bread basket before someone came over to get drink orders. About 12 minutes. Veal parmigiana was very good.
I’ve been to Vinny’s several times. Always good. Service and food is great. It’s the place we take out of town guests to. Beth was great. Warm and friendly.
Good food, great service! I enjoyed my quiche and the mimosas.
Wonderful place for Easter Brunch with family. We'll be back!
Very noisy restaurant with little to no options for vegetarians and only one gluten free option. Many other Italian restaurants customize their menu for vegetarians but not this one. Even on the normal busy days they don't have enough ppl to serve, so u end up waiting long times to order and the server doesn't have enough time to provide options either
Every single last thing was fantastic. The Gnocchi were little puffs of goodness, the veal meatballs, fantastic.
The food and atmosphere was excellent. The rack of lamb was authentic.
Food was delicious, and Glenn was an excellent server. And we thoroughly enjoyed the birthday dessert plate!
Excellent food, friendly staff, great service, and a kitchen extremely willing to adjust to your needs! This is one of our favorite spots.
Have eaten here several times, the Food is always excellent and service outstanding! Grilled Artichoke apps? YUM!
Love this place! Food and service is always top notch. Celebrated our 12th anniversary & Vinny's did not let me down...
Our dinner experience at Vinny’s on Windward exceeded our expectations. We were seated promptly. The space between tables is ample. The service ranging from our hostess, to water/beverage server, to main server was Five Star Fantastic. The pre-dinner soups (white fish and clam chowder) were excellent. Last but not least the entrees. Two of us had the Scallop and Shrimp Risotto. My wife had the Pizza (trust me, it’s excellent), and our friend had the Lasagna. All four of us were completely delighted with our meals.
Needless to say, we will be back soon. I highly recommend.
Side note: The restaurant is very cozy and allows for conversation without having to yell to be heard.
Vinny's was good. We had chicken parm, meatballs and mozzarella with tomato. The veal meatballs were awesome! The ambiance was wonderful.
Our food and service were both terrific. I regret that I cannot remember our server's name, but he was very friendly, had us taste several wines before selecting, and responded very graciously when there was an issue with my mother-in-law's order. The veal meatballs and gnocchi I had were truly incredible and a great value, and everyone said they loved their entree. Can't wait to go back next time I visit my family there.
Another great experience at Vinny's! Cindy was great and unhesitatingly took my special request for a vegetarian version of the evening special. As always it was fantastic! I also recommend the unique take on creme brulee. Delicious!
Hostess said she had noisy groups coming in so seated us in the charming back bar area which was great. Server was great. Veal meatballs with gnocchi were delicious but near an appetizer portion. I ordered the filet, medium. I got the thin portion size restaurants save for well done requests ( am in the business, so I know) and it was well done.I hate when they do that, like their chefs can't cook a medium steak. Very disappointing. Thin green beans tasted like they were sauteed in a pan previously used to saute fish. Potato mash cake was dry, no flavor. Asked for butter, they brought me some drawn butter. Didn't stay for dessert. They took the filet off the bill.
Great food, quickly served, fantastic service - will defiantly come back
A perfect night out for my wife's birthday, from the valet to the greeting, to the server to the food. Had the mussels and artichokes to start, the shrimp & scallops and eggplant for the main, finished with the cappuccino
The food is consistently good. At times the restaurant can be very noisy and make conversation a little difficult. Some of the servers lack charm. Instead of our waitress saying, "we recommend the (blank)", she used the word "pushing". "We're pushing the crab cakes and we are pushing the risotto tonight" and she hurried us along through our meal. I would go back for the food if I could go at an off time when it wouldn't be so loud and the food server wouldn't rush me to eat it and beat it
My husband and I dined here for a date night and had an amazing experience. The food, the wine, and the server were all great. Finally found some authentic Italian food in Alpharetta!
