The best part of this visit was the cheese board. Service was nonexistent and food came out cold. Food is overpriced for the taste and quality. Our server was focused on everything else but taking care of her tables. I will not be returning. Maybe they were having a bad night, but their bad night still cost me $100 for 2 people and we left unfulfilled.
Vinny's is always a crowd pleaser. We have been here many times and this restaurant has survived for years when many others have failed. The restaurant feels upscale, chic and the food quality is very good. The best part though is that it's just a rich, vibrant environment. It's a little noise in the main room with the high ceilings, so someone who has elderly parents may want to consider that, if noise and echos bothers, or ask for the adjacent rooms.
Drinks and wine selection is excellent and the service was very attentive. I would have no issues with recommending. The complimentary valet parking is also nice.
Always consistent and always fabulous. Great food, service and value. Awesome atmosphere.
We went for the first time to Vinnys for my birthday. Pear arugula salad was outstanding! I had the risotto with shrimp. Risotto was way too thick and like a big pile of gloop. However, the shrimp were cooked nicely.
Our server was attentive, the restaurant was not busy at all for a Thursday night. Not sure I'd go back. A little pricey and wasn't that happy with my meal.
Excellent food, the service was above outstanding. Valet parking is a plus as the parking is limited. Everyone associated with Vinny's is pleasant, helpful and the service is very efficient. Sorry we waited so long to try Vinny's, as we have lived here for 23 years. Our new favorite place.
We eat here often and the food is consistently good. For instance, I had the trout and salad. Both were made identically as I had on my last visit (and both times the food was exceptional). The service is always top notch and make you feel like you are eating with friends, yet still professional. Wine menu has some nice affordable finds, like the Aspen Chardonnay for $30 a bottle. We enjoyed the chocolate mouse for desert. My wife enjoyed her salad and crab cakes very much. We did substitute the starch for whipped cauliflower which was very good, although there was mashed potatoes incorporated. We recommend Vinny's on Windward to anyone as they have a vary diverse and varied menu from pizza to trout to steak.
We've been coming here for years and Mila is a gem!
This was not our best meal at Vinny's which usually I have to say it is wonderful. I have mostly had excellent experiences there, but tonight, they were just off. Our server was very hard to understand (and she didn't understand us) so it made it pretty difficult to order and to get what we wanted. The meal was just okay, and usually is much better. I would still recommend Vinny's because usually it is amazing, but this time it was just off.
Matt is a great bartender. It’s a pity he is leaving!!
Food and service great as always. Food took a very long time to come to the table after ordering. It was delicious and worth the wait.
Great California style restuarant that always delivers and has a delighttful, experienced and friendly staff (Kimberly was our waitress tonight and she was very good). We stated off wih the pear and arula salad with goat cheese which was perfect. We shared an inexpensive bottle of Aspens chardonnay which we enjoyed. The rainbow trout was delicious and served over riced cauliflower with a bit if mashed potatoes to give it some firmness. Very good, but still low carb. My darling had garlicy gnocchi with veal meatballs which was fantastic (all made in house). We capped off our meal with home made sorbet which was a little too exotic for us. We will be back and recommend this fine establishment.
Wonderful setting, great service, and excellent menu. The chocolate mousse is a must have dessert!
For the occasion of my wife's birthday, we had a very enjoyable dinner experience. Our waitor, Chris, was terrific and Kimberly's stop by visit was a nice touch.
Great meal and waitress/cook were very accommodating of an slight variation to a meal. Perfect evening.
Always fun and good food. Service is always very good with a good bartender!!
Mila was great - friendly, and knowledgeable. The overall experience is fantastic.
Nice menu, good food nicely presented. I had the pear salad, which was very good, but there was too much dressing on it. Next time I’ll request dressing on the side. My entree was the trout, which was tasty and well-prepared. I enjoyed a glass of Butter Chardonnay with it, which was reasonably priced. This was my second visit to this restaurant and I will go again.
We were celebrating our 41st anniversary. Chris did a great job of recommending exceptional dishes and surprised us with a wonderful dessert.
Never had a bad meal. It's one of go-to favorites. Menu has good variety and the service is always excellent.
Best artichokes. Great wine list . Pretty restaurant . Always gets good reviews. Biggest drawback is how loud it is! My the time i left my ears were ringing
We had a gathering of 10 for a business associate who was leaving our company. Employees and spouses. Got there early with two very special bottles of wine. They uncorked for us and waived one charge. They did a special sweet tasting for our guest of honor. We had a great server who was very attentive and made great suggestions for the group. All in all we had a great time and would definitely do this again.
The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect for a pre concert dinner!
It is quite a while since I last had dinner at Vinny's and the reason for that is I think the food and presentation is average and doesn't justify the price - I don't think that has changed...
The place was busy when we were there on a Saturday evening so there must be plenty of people that like Vinny's but to be honest there are so many great places in the Windward Parkway area where you can get better meals and value for money...
Grilled artichokes were delicious. Everything else was not memorable.
I rarely ever give negative reviews but we had a large party and a terribly rude waiter that mocked my husband. Apparently had it out for him. Was also rude to my niece. Food was excellent though!
The restaurant was unusually loud and it was difficult to talk. After 1.15 hours of dinning it was clear that our waiter wanted us to close out the tab so I asked him if he was in a rush to get home and he said “yes”, but it was only 8:00 pm.
Food and service were really good despite the crowd that was there. The noise level in the dining room made it a little difficult to talk at the table though. The short ribs were outstanding
We’ve eaten here many times. This time we were disappointed with the taste of the food. The lamb chops could not be enjoyed because of the taste. One was eaten, and your customer would not send it back because he was a nice guy. I had the trout, and I ate it. Did not like the taste. The pasta dish was terrific. The comment was, “the best I’ve eaten”. That has been how we have left each time, however this time was a disappointment.
The ambiance visually is terrific. It was a Tuesday night and the Db noise level is very high.
We will be back. Hopefully we’ll experience “the best” again.
Vinny's is typically great. Our meal tonight was poor and I'll chalk it up to simply a bad night for the restaurant. Service was slow, possibly newer server. Three filets were ordered -- all medium rare -- all came back medium well. I have enjoyed several good meals there but this one was poor.
Love love love Vinny's! Every. Single. Thing ... Perfect! Thank you!
Great food, and reasonable prices. Only reason I gave service less than 5 stars is because our waiter forgot to put my take-out dessert in my bag of leftovers. Otherwise, excellent service. Wish I lived a little closer — traffic during the week discourages us from going more. It’s my favorite restaurant of the Sedgwick Griuo.
Great venue for special occasions or when you just want to escape the norm!!!!!!
Haven’t been in a long time, still great! Excellent meal!
Love Vinny’s! We go there a couple times a year and for the past 5 years always for my birthday. Our favorite waitress is Cindy!! She is the best. She introduced us to the Vinny’s Lemon drop 🍸 made with Home made Lemoncello. The best ever.
I smelled the pizza when I walked in the door, ordered the Margarita pizza, my nose did not let me down. The crust and toppings were fresh and flavorful. Service was exceptional, friendly, attentive, timely, and professional. Definitely will be back and highly recommend.
Food was good, place looked great, but service standards were far below waffle house. Worst service in a restaurant I can remember, which sucks because I used to love this place. They would be on hour plus waits but on this saturday night at 8:30 PM place was half empty. And service was terrible. That tells you wherethe restaurant is heading.
Great abviance. Good service. Good food. Enjoyed an evening with friends
Have eaten at Vinny's many times and it is consistently good.
My wife and I had a date night here and the ambiance was great. We got there at 5:30 and there were only three other tables with people. We were offered water and bread right after we sat down, but the staff member didn’t say one word to us. There server came by shortly after and took out order for drinks and read the specials to us. He came back We received our drinks and took some time to review the menu. The server came back and took our order. I ordered the Ribeye with a side of their fries and my wife ordered the short ribs. The server came back to ask how I wanted my steak and I said “medium”. After a bit of a wait our food came out and portions were just right. I cut into my steak and found it to be cooked “well done,” no where near “medium” as I had asked. I hadn’t been here before and didn’t want to complain, so I ate my over cooked steak. Overall it was nice, but you’d expect a reastaurant like this to know how to cook a steak medium. My wife liked the short ribs with mashed potatoes. Still a nice place, but a bit disappointed about the over cooked steak.
Vinny's is very good if you're not on gluten-free diet. I know because I used to eat there before my dx over 12 years ago. Since then they added a gf menu, but it's limited and they have nothing in terms of replacement items (bread, pasta, pizza). They do have a gf chocolate torte for dessert, like everyone else in this area (yawn). How difficult can it be to make a gf crust using (now) cheap gf cookies and offer something decent for dessert North Fulton? If I can do it, anyone can! Also, having to use two menus to order gluten-free items is beyond annoying.
On a more positive note, they had two gf soups (very rare in Atlanta) and the one I got (celery and potato) was quite good. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but overshadowed by too much balsamic reduction or something like that. Also, they only have valet parking at lunch...not for us. My friend is also gf and said she wouldn't be back either.
