Vinny Vanucchi's 'Little Italy' - Galena Ratings and Reviews
Great dining experience! Portions are extremely generous and very "fresh" tasting. We had the lasagna and the veal along with their fabulous salad and garlic bread. I don't believe anyone leaves feeling hungry! We celebrated a birthday and received a complimentary generous portion of white strawberry cake that was very tasty! Will definitely go back.
The service was top notch and the restaurant is very warm and cozy and nicely decorated.
The food was excellent; my husband had the lasagne and the portion was large and I had the manicotti and I felt the portion was very small for the price.
We would definitely eat here again.
Have been going yo Vinny Vanucchi's for quite a number of years now and always have a great time. We were especially happy to be able to get a window table facing Main Street.
Food as usual, was great and had a lot of fun with other customers enjoying their time also.
Service was outstanding and our waitress was very courteous and helpful.
This is always the first nights dinner when we go to Galena.
made a reservation for 4 people during the holiday Halloween parade. Was pretty disappointing. The pasta that we got was okay at best, really didn't have much flavor at all, and that was the consensus around the table. We asked to be sat by the windows but the gentleman at the door said they were reserved, although no one came in and sat at those tables while we were there.
We were sat in the bar and bistro part of the restaurant, so I dont know if the rest of the place was different, as I assume they have a different kitchen for each section.
Sorry, we wanted to like this place, but the food was inedible. Chicken was not cooked through fully, pasta was drowning in olive oil, salad smothered in cheese. Should've known we were in for a disaster when we entered the restaurant and someone from the kitchen let out a huge burp. Totally unprofessional and nasty.
Food was excellent, the place is nice. Waitress was not the best. Waited awhile just to get started with water, bread and drink orders. Said she would bring more salad, we’re still waiting for it! She was very nice, but took far too long for everything. Food is very good though.
We had been before a few years ago and it was quite nice then. This time the waitress was rough, she threw the food on the table. The food was ordered and out in minutes and tasted like it had been sitting for awhile-not fresh. It was a disappointing 40th anniversary dinner.
Visited during the weekend of the craft fair. Had 6 family members with one child under 2. The restaurant is not accessible easily by stroller. Once we finally made it up the hill to the restaurant was advised we had to go up several steps to the table, had to carry the stroller up and down it was very hard, even though a “service” elevator is available. Food was “okay”. Service was fine, nothing spectacular. Would be very challenging to access for an elderly couple or people with disabilites.
Frequent visitor to Vinny's. Do not care to be put up in the "bistro" which is an upstairs (outside wooden steps). Requested inside the actual restaurant but was seated up in the extra area. Doesn't have the same feel as the actual original dining area. Air was on and a cold draft kept coming across our table. We will be back, but hopefully inside the main building.
After climbing stairs in the town all day, the last thing we wanted was to climb more stairs to get to our table and get into the restaurant. Two people had the chicken fettuccini alfredo, and I had the eggplant parmesan (special). My eggplant was delicious, and it was a huge meal (I'm having the rest today). The 2 who ordered the chicken fettuccini alfredo were somewhat disappointed-didn't care for their food. Our waiter was, however, fabulous!
The service at Vinny's was very attentive and friendly! The food was fantastic as always. It took a little bit to be greeted when we walked in, but once we did, everything was seamless. Our table was ready on time, the service was great, and the food was good.
Went for out 10 year wedding anniversary. We put that as our special celebration on open table. Restaurant never acknowledged anniversary. Our waiter, I could understand his mumbling. He never told us the specials. He paid more attention to the table with 4 women, than my wife and I. He would fill their glasses with water but not come to our table. Food was very bland. Don't get a steak here. You can make the same steak at home. We will not be returning to this restaurant. There are many other places to eat on Main St than this disappointment. Sucks we wasted our wedding anniversary on this place.
There were 4 of us. The salad brought out for 4 people is tiny. I got the chicken Marsala and it tasted like a beef mushroom gravy rather than a Marsala reduction. It was terrible- there is no way based on the dark brown color that it was made out of chicken. Next time we'll go to Cannovas.
My partner got Chicken Parm and liked it so I gave it a slightly higher rating.
The food was good. The server had a great personality and was very helpful. However, if you have any special considerations (in our case, a need for handicapped accessibility) call rather than relying on an online reservation form. Despite my mentioning the issue in the comments section of our OpenTable reservation, they were quite taken aback, verging on unhelpful when we showed up with one party in a wheelchair. They made no attempt to let us know ahead of time where to park and enter the restaurant so that the accessibility issue could be managed.
We have been dining at Vanucchi's for many years. We have had large family gatherings there, we have had inmate 2 person occasion dining, we have had small family gatherings.
We have had quiet meals where we listened to songs by Dino, Old Blue eyes and others.
We have had loud, jovial family banter, we have had something in between. We always
have a good time and good food. We love the ld-fashioned, homey decor, the happy ambience. Our daughters love Vinnie's and our grandchildren love it. What more could we ask for?
