Everyone enjoyed their meal …my chicken was tough but the sauce was good and the meal came hot. My daughters salad had a bug in it…a whole bug so we know she didn’t eat any of it …otherwise the salad was good Their meals were good and came the way they specified

My family and I were visiting from out of town for a short stay in Galena. This restaurant was mentioned by our hotel concierge. We were not disappointed. The decor is eclectic and fun. The food was delicious. The pasta was cooked to perfection! My kids especially loved the garlic bread. We will definitely be back.

Chicken parm was terrible. The plate was shared between two people and neither party could eat it. Salad was mediocre. Garlic bread was very yummy!

The dish I ordered was subpar. The chicken was over cooked. The sauce tasted like sugar. No salt. The mushrooms weren’t cooked. And the owner decided that it wasn’t her problem. She feels since they’ve been in business so long they must be doing it right every time. Clearly that’s impossible for even the best restaurants. The bread was mediocre. The server was awesome and the dessert was good. It’s a kitschy place with Italian decor which was nice enough but nothing special.

Owner made our friends 40th birthday something he will never forget. We were able to spend some time in the new speakeasy and enjoy a glass of wine before our meal. Definitely a night to remember. Food was fabulous and our waitress was top notch.

Not only was the service outstanding, the food was as good as the service. Loved, loved the garlic bread. Our waiter was attentive and made great suggestions for our entrees. Will be back again the next time we are in Galena.

Outside dining was gorgeous. Loved the planters filled with basil and tomato plants. Tables were distanced nicely so we felt our privacy. Wait staff super attentive and sweet. Food yummy and nice variety. Good Chianti and my favorite wine glasses!

Can't beat the setting in this quaint town. However, it is not easy to get to, requiring climbing many cement steps. A little challenging for some of our party. Food was excellent, drinks were okay. Service was great.

I didn’t see eggplant parmigiana on the menu but asked our waiter Tim if it was available. He said yes as a special. I ordered that and it was huge. It tasted excellent and the bread and salad were equally as good. The service though was the best. Thanks for a great 45 year anniversary dinner.

Bread was grocery store quality, salad greens were limp and not well cut, seafood was subpar and not a good value. Pasta was good, but pretty simple stuff. The whole place smelled like musty, wet cleaning cloth.

We always love coming to Vinnies when we visit Galena. We arrived a half hour early and were graciously seated . However it was a special weekend for us and had requested window seating on upstairs floor. I should have specified the table in the alcove window area . When we asked to move upstairs we were placed by very large and noisy group so requested to go back downstairs . We were accommodated but was a bit awkward . Otherwise we love this restaurant.

My husband and I went out for a kid free date night, we were disappointed by the atmosphere, thought it was a fancier place. Our waitress was nice, but seemed rushed and didn’t ask us for appetizers or go over any specials, which we overheard from the other table’s waitress. I ordered as cosmopolitan, which our waitress made as there is no actual bartender. She did not know how to make it and it was not shaken. No dessert or after dinner drinks were offered. Later that night I got sick. It was nice to finally see what it was about but will mot be visiting again.

Our only problem was that we are old and Galena has hills. We walked uphill to get to the restaurant and then there were flights of stairs to go to certain dining areas. They were very accommodating when we said no to the stairs! They found a delightful window table and treated us very well. Food is phenomenal!

I have been going to Vinnie's for years. It is consistently good, the service impeccable and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. (They have several dining areas) I drive 2 hours to get there and it's worth the trip.

We dined here for our 40th anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was excellent, with background music from Sinatra and others, and the food was ample and delicious. We sat outside on a windy early evening and the protected patio was a perfect place to sit. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this restaurant to others. Note that is is a half a block up the hill, so may be difficult for some people to get to.

I made this reservation at Vinny's because I wasn't familiar with the restaurants in Galena and italian food is most always good. The food was ok, but I ordered chicken parmesan and while the chicken was cooked ok, the spaghetti noodles were dry, There was no sauce on the noodles at all and the only sauce I had was a little on the chicken. The people with me had the same experience as one ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the other order was just spaghetti. No one at our table had enough sauce. Also, we were served bread which was soaked in oil and when I say soaked, it was dripping oil, which was too much. I would have preferred plain bread, served with butter so I could control the amount on each piece. If I was asked to eat there again, I would go, but know now, to ask for extra sauce and plain bread.
