The steaks we ordered medium rare were well done. The cannolis were frozen and tasted like they were filled with icing from the grocery store. We were disappointed.

I made this reservation at Vinny's because I wasn't familiar with the restaurants in Galena and italian food is most always good. The food was ok, but I ordered chicken parmesan and while the chicken was cooked ok, the spaghetti noodles were dry, There was no sauce on the noodles at all and the only sauce I had was a little on the chicken. The people with me had the same experience as one ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the other order was just spaghetti. No one at our table had enough sauce. Also, we were served bread which was soaked in oil and when I say soaked, it was dripping oil, which was too much. I would have preferred plain bread, served with butter so I could control the amount on each piece. If I was asked to eat there again, I would go, but know now, to ask for extra sauce and plain bread.

The atmosphere and service were exceptional. The gluten free menu offered only a few choices, though everything was prepared separately and with the diner's health concerns in mind, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, the pasta choice I selected came as a very plain pasta with sauce that was pretty basic and not seasoned. Honestly I expected a bit more for the price. The other diners in my party had regular dishes that all looked like more thought in preparation went into them.

I highly recommend Vinny Vanuccci’s in Galena,IL I make it a point to eat here every time I am in Galena. The food was excellent. The server was very good. Although the prices have gone up quite a bit, if you’re trying to eat on a budget, Vinny’s probably isn’t for you.

It was a nice experience over all. The beautiful restaurant really Made the whole experience food was ok pasta was a little cold and the rest of the food was a little bland. We were from out of town and raspberrie Vinaigrette isn’t popular where we’re from and it was a little odd you weren’t given the option for other dressing on the salads. The waitress was very sweet and over all we had a nice time

What a nice place to have a quiet dinner with my wife. Tasty salad & homemade garlic bread to start & wonderfully tasty & light Tiramisu to finish. The marsala sauce was delicioys and the pasta was perfect. Our waiter was knowledgable, friendly and highly skilled in just the right level of service - not toll little or too much.

Our waitress was great & attentive. Garlic bread was fabulous. I ordered chicken parmigiana, which was mediocre at best. My fiancé ordered the baked seafood penne. As it was delivered to the table it smelled fishy, but not in a good way. My fiancé took a bite and expressed the seafood tasted spoiled. Our waitress took the dish back & had told us it wasn’t the first seafood dish that was brought back. Very disappointed. Unfortunately will not be returning.

We were given a restaurant for 7 people at 8:15. And the minute 9pm hit, when they closed, music went off and we were rushed out. The food was not good. We were provided one salad for 7 people, and had to ask for another. The chicken was rubbery. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. We asked for Parmesan cheese, thinking it would help the taste, and since it’s an “authentic” Italian restaurant, expecting them to come out with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Instead we got little packets, like you get at a pizza joint. We were looking forward to an amazing meal in Galena, and sadly were very disappointed.

There were many great options to choose from, including a gluten-free menu. The salad and garlic bread was very good, our entrees where VERY good, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. The place has many different dining areas; ours was very quaint and fairly quiet. We would definitely return here again.

Vinney’s atmosphere is welcoming and it brings you to a place in Italy. Frank Sinatra is playing in the background for ambience. The found and drinks (Italian margarita) was outstanding. The staff was friendly and responsive. I would highly recommend you dine here!

Our server was phenomenal! He couldn’t have done a better job. We had some issues with very bland food and a couple drinks that were not made correctly. Our server definitely handled it perfectly though. So it was still a good time.
