The food we ate was mediocre at best. I've eaten at Vinny's twice this year expecting better food but it continues to disappoint me!
Love eating outside there! The service was outstanding, food, atmosphere...perfect!! We will be back. Sitting outside there and listening to the street band players is like a scene out of the movies.
Seafood fettuccini good. Best garlic bread ever. Family style salad.
Out server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere at Vinni’s is warm and welcoming. We ordered Auntie Gracie’s Sausage Ragu which we almost always order when we visit Galena. It was as excellent as always ...
We will certainly be back!
We have gone to this place several times over the years even though we do not live near Galena. It has never failed to be top notch as far as we are concerned.
We had a wonderful time at Vinny Vanucchi's. We made our reservations for later on a Tuesday night because of our late afternoon activities. While many servers would be anxious to close, our server Christian was enthusiastic and welcoming. He was super accommodating to one of our guests who had a health emergency while we were there. He was patient, kind and gracious. On top of all of this, the wine and food were AMAZING. We loved the family-style salad and garlic bread and my seafood pasta dish was so great that I brought the leftovers all they way back home with me to finish the next evening (3.5 hours away.) We will definitely be back!
Service was excellent food was great I will recommend to friends next time they come here I give this place A+++++
I really love this restaurant, unfortunately our last visit was not as fabulous as other visits. We were placed in a "private" room, which was nice because it was my birthday but it hadn't looked to be dusted in decades. The area was right under a staircase that the busy servers ran up and down, constantly, making the visit full of the "bang bang bang" of footsteps. We had to get up once to find our server, after it took quite a while for a request for more bread and drink refills. Maybe because we were in a room where our server couldn't see us we didn't receive the level of service we usually do. The salad and garlic bread did not disappoint but my Chicken Marsala was heavy, sticky, overcooked pasta and couldn't even taste the capers (my favorite part). The lasagna dinner portion was very small, the kids meals were all well proportioned and a good value. We will be back, and I will update this review (if necessary :)
Anniversary got loud with a bridal bachelorette party otherwise very nice experience
Delicious! Service was great! The garlic bread and salad was awesome as well. Would go again.
Cute place, love the decor. Food was good but needed a little more salt. The service was impeccable!
Excellent Italian Food. nice dining setup with multiple floors once you find the restaurant in the back. if you like Italian, you won't go wrong here.
We sat outside and it was so quaint and nice. We both enjoyed our pasta but especially loved the salad and garlic toast. Would definitely go back!
Our dinner was delicious and our server was great too. I will definitely be back for the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Next time we will sit outside, we noticed that was very popular and seemed like a pleasant area to dine!
We have been to Vinnie's many times thru the years. As always,it was a good experience overall.I am concerned that the food quality is not what it used to be.Our food came very quickly, almost to quick.I ordered Rocky's Ravioli and it seemed like it might have come from a can and heated in a microwave.Really no difference from canned Chef Boy R Dees. For 17 or 18 dollars you expect a little more. This is the first negative comment I have made about Vinnie's.
Excellent dinner, the waitress was great! The only comment we have is for the price point, the cheap silverware that is used at Vinny vanucchi's needs a serious upgrade.
Loved the atmosphere! Such a great venue.
The portions are just huge. I would like to see two sizes be available.
We’ve been there many times and will go again. The food is great. The ambiance is wonderful.
We always enjoy Vinny’s. Our waitress was especially fantastic. Best meatballs ever! And enormous portions.
Great and friendly service. Food was spectacular!!
Dinner with friends from western Iowa.
Cute multi-level restaurant with optional summer outdoor seating. Good menu selections. Can enter off Bench St (no steps) or Main (lots of steps). A fabulous addition to your Galena dining experience!
We always have dinner here when we visit Galena. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is authentic, fresh, and delicious!
Great food and drinks and excellent service! Chicken Milanese is to die for.
Always good. Our waitress was wonderful as well as the food.
Excellent experience, we are repeat customers. Some fly control may have been helpful. The food and service were awesome
The Good: Salad dressing excellent, Garlic bread amazing, Waiter was attentive. Ambience is nice
The Bad: Lasagna was barely eatable, they put a hard slab of sausage in between the lasagna noodles. The Lasagna was only luke warm.
Spaghetti and sauce was tasteLESS. Olive garden tastes better.
My only suggestion is portion size could be less and lower pricing. Most people visiting are traveling and don’t wish to take leftovers or have the means to. For us a lot of food was wasted as we could not take with us. Pretty pricey dinner to throw away. The food was delicious and the service was very good.
Not very good for what is supposed to be Italian cooking. The veal was chewy and the Marsala sauce was a heavy brown unappetizing gravy. Not for me
The food was delicious. Cute place located on Main St. the service was great, the waitress was very kind and helpful.
We have been here many times always great service and food. Our favorite restaurant when visiting Galena.
Typical Italian food - I have had worse and I have had better. I had a shrimp, scallop and crab dish- shrimp was good, scallops a bit small and the crab seemed like it came out of can. Pre-dinner salad and garlic bread was good and drinks are a good size. A little pricey. Probably will try other places to eat in Galena next time.
Birthday ‘boy’ treated very well;-)!!
Very good, except some outstanding plates we use to have disappeared from the menu, and a dish we know well also changed in quality.
Nice place, nice servers. Other than the garlic bread, the food was bland. Chicken marsala had no flavor of marsala wine. There are better places to go in Galena.
Good food, pleasant atmosphere and courteous and efficient service. Prices reasonable for vacationers like me.
The food, chicken Parmesan with pasta and ziti with Italian sausage, was delicious! Plus the garlic bread was “spot on.” Served with a glass of Chianti. Would definitely eat there again.
The waitress was brand new and was very flustered and hard to understand, so she was not helpful at all with drink choices or food. The menu was pretty basic, nothing that sounded extremely good. We ordered the lasagna which literally was a brick of meat surrounded in a noodle and some cheese. The ravioli carbonara had very little flavor. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere but the food and service were just fair so I would not try this place again.
Best restaurant in Galena. Delicious authentic Italian food in a romantic and rustic setting. Loved it!
