Great expérience when visiting Galena !
Have been to Galena many times and never made it here until now. Staff was very nice and service was fine but the food was so bland, no flavor at all. The chicken in my dish was seasoned and tender but the sauce had no flavor it was suppose to be a tomato cream sauce yet tasted like tomato juice, very watery. My husband had an Alfredo dish and sauce was as thin as water with no flavor. He enjoyed the garlic bread but I thought it was a little dry. I wish it was better but unfortunately it was not. It was my husbands birthday and we noted on reservation but I guess they don’t do anything for birthdays so I can’t comment on how their desserts would have been.
We had such high hopes for this place and have heard many good things about it. But the service was as bad as any we have ever experienced. It completely ruined the experience. And bluntly when the service is awful, there is no value to pay the kind of prices they charge. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
The staff and food was amazing. Quick turn around on food and drinks. Cindie was absolutely a pro and was so professional.
I always enjoy coming to eat here! My only complaint this time was that I ha do ordered a raspberry tea and every time my drink was refilled the waitress brought back just regular tea.
The food was amazing and we received wonderful service from the staff.
Food as always was great
Where to start off, well my wife and I order the stuffed seafood mushrooms. The came out load with cheese and tastes like they were frozen. The wife order the seafood fettuccine the fettuccine was not cooked in season water and was over cooked. The shrimp was not great and the scallops did not have a nice rich butter sweet taste and the crap came out of a can.
Great atmosphere. Food was ok. In the past the food was absolutely amazing. Maybe different chef cooking that day?
One of our favorite places to eat when we visit Galena each year. Amazing food and the staff is always nice.
Nice ambience, food was okay, but service was terrible, the waitresses need to learn the menu and wine list.
Always enjoyable good food in great atmosphere, great job with covid. Generous spacing of tables
Our service was great, but it didn’t make up for the food. The eggplant Parmesan tasted like paste, everyone (7 of us) was very disappointed in the food. I won’t be back.
Our service was good however our food was not. We were a group of seven. We felt the eggplant special was tasteless and oily. The lasagna was good but the other meals were mediocre. The dinners were too pricy for what we got. This experience was not good but we will try it again in the future. Maybe due to covid they were having an off night.
The food was good, however one of the meals was incorrect from what was ordered and the waiter didn't seem to want to correct it. We were able to get in corrected close to what was ordered. We had 6 people in our party and it would have been nice for them to bring out two salads as we had to share one for all six people, so we all had a very small salad. The atmosphere was lovely and the noise level was quiet, we sat outside and enjoyed a lovely evening.
Wanted a short getaway for my husband's birthday, but wanted to do it as safely as possible. Made a reservation at Vinny's and they were wonderful. We had a table in a little nook by a window. My husband even got a couple of "Happy Birthday" wishes from your staff. Everything was delicious and perfectly timed. We never felt rushed. We've been to Vinny's before and have always had a good experience.
The food was excellent and the service was also excellent
Wonderful menu. Garlic bread with your dinner was an added plus. We will be back
Manicotti was second best I ever had. Nobody will beat my Aunt's recipe this was very close. Great food
Overall good experience. The food was excellent!! Would eat here again.
Great food and great service!
Wonderful food in a great atmosphere! We had reservations for 4 and our waitress was very helpful picking out a great bottle of wine to go with our food. The food was delicious but it is slightly pricey. It was a wonderful way to end our day in Galena. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for good, authentic Italian food.
Have always enjoyed visiting Vinny's. Most everything was fine, but my entree, which was a special, wasn't very good. It was eggplant parm, which should be standard, but this wasn't cooked well. The coating was soggy, it wasn't hot, and there really was hardly any marinara on it and no sauce at all on the pasta. I really suspect it was frozen and reheated. Definitely not worth the cost.
Salad was great, service was wonderful, glad for the efforts to keep up safe and distanced, but disappointed in the parm!
Food was good, service good, covid spacing was a little unnerving coming from a perspective that takes distance and mask wearing seriously. Staff was good but other patrons and table spacing a little tight for my comfort.
Always great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
A very busy place with good food and excellent service.
Server was triple seated so she had a hard time getting caught up the 1 hr and 45 min we were dining. She came back 1 time to check on us once we got our food and asked we asked for more water, salad plates, marinara because the chicken parm was dry and not hot. Half way into dinner until we had no drinks, no salad plates and no marinara. Manager never came in area to check on tables. When she finally came back we asked for check and 2 containers to go. 1 for chicken parm and other for salad. She brought 1 container still with no marinara. After asking for 3rd time for sauce and another container gave up on plates and drinks because clearly dinner was over. Unfortunately would not come back to this restaurant. On way out never saw any manager. Knowing restaurants are seating at half capacity as they normally would I can’t imagine how bad service would be at full capacity.
Went with my daughter for a mother daughter weekend. I was so sad about the experience - because 15 years ago - it was so great. The waitress seemed like she just wanted to get us out of there. Felt like fast food Italian. I wouldn’t go again.
The food was authentic, hot, large portions and Delicious :)
Hands down the best wait staff and food around! Couldn’t ask for a better place to eat!
We truly enjoyed to the food, first of all. Everything that we ordered, from the appetizers to the main courses and drinks, were all very good. My husband really enjoyed his steak (and he's pretty picky!) However, the noise level was a little more than what we wanted to tolerate for a romantic meal celebrating our 10th anniversary. Despite our requests, we were seated next to a table with a large, boisterous party. In other words, if this is just a casual, fun gathering, then it would be great. If you're looking more for a dinner for a special occasion, however, I would try some place else.
Distancing precautions were good; we were inside, & tables were spaced.
Food was good, but not outstanding. My husband had Fettuccine Mecelli & I had Penne & Meatballs.Prices are on the high side for what you get, but at least bread & salad are included. We have eaten here every time we have gone to Galena & think the quality has gone down a little. Server was very nice but was covering a large & wine we ordered with dinner was late coming.
We very much enjoyed our dinner. Will definitely come back with next visit!
This was going to be our Anniversary dinner. We got there and seated right away, and had a nice table. We than waited about 15 minutes before I waved someone down to ask to send a server. She than took our order for drinks and that was ok. Came back took food order, brought out salad and bread which was very good. Our food than came my order was correct and my husband had ordered stuff shells with marina sauce but she brought spa and meatballs. Ok no biggie just bring correct one back and 15 minutes later she brings shells with Alfredo sauce and we said no wanted marinara! She than said something about frozen and no more , really not even sure what she was mumbling. Than she took my husbands meal and gave it to another table of women who’s food was there waiting to be served! Yes you heard it she took my husbands plate from in front of him and gave it to a girl at tab,e behind us. Asked for general manger and basically said so sorry and really couldn’t be bothered. In this world right now the restaurant business needs to care more about customers because they are already hurting. Will never return here.
Great food, atmosphere, and service. Would recommend a reservation.
It was a great dinner outside. Food was amazing and staff was very sweet and very careful to follow COViD rules.
Will go again.
Food great. Service great. Accommodations great. Prices were reasonable.
Server brought the wrong dish twice to one diner, failed to follow through on requests for Parmesan and water, substitutes a wine with an “upgrade” wine. In general, giving slow and frustrating and the food is only passable.
We had a great meal served by an attentive waiter. The food was scrumptious. Highly revommended.
