Vinny Vanucchi's 'Little Italy' - Dubuque
Spaghetti Pasta Tossed in an Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Garlic, Fresh Basil and Chili Flakes
Tube Pasta with Italian Meatballs in a Marinara Sauce.
Love the food and great service. We try to dine there at least once when we visit Dubuque.
Some of the best Veal Parmesan I have eaten. The Italian sausage is also 1st class. Just the right amount of zing
The service was great, food was ok. Not a whole lot of flavor and was overpriced for the quality
Best Italian food in downtown Dubuque! I love the salad and the garlic bread is fantastic.
The garlic bread was the best part of the meal. I could have just eaten that and the salad and been very happy. I had the fettuccine carbonara and it was really good. My husband ordered the chicken parm and there was something not quite right with the chicken. Undercooked maybe? The marinara sauce is heavy on the fennel flavor - great if you like that, but we're not fans. The rest of the food was very good, so we'll definitely go back and order other items.
We looked high and low for a romantic dinner spot in Dubuque for our anniversary, as we had never been here before, and this place topped it all just by the photos we saw.
When we got here, it was no less amazing. The decor is gorgeous, smooth sounds of Bocelli and Pavarotti in the background (even with the bar connected next door lol). A welcoming hostess, great servers and delicious food!
We would definitely be back, after having such a great night out and easy enough to park outside the restaurant rather than walking a block to get there!
First time eating in a restaurant since the pandemic began. Thankful for the staff all wearing masks and social distancing other than setting food on our table. We were spaced out from other customers and felt very safe. The food was delicious, our server super friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our night.
Great food, great service. A little overpriced. Would definitely go back.
Great staff, uniquely designed interior, great patio seating. And great and plentiful food for the money as well
Whenever we are lucky enough to get to Galena, we always eat at Vinny's! The food is the BEST, and the restaurant staff is always so accommodating! Love this place!!!
This was our first night out at a restaurant since March and it was wonderful! Such a beautiful restaurant and the food was amazing! Excellent service, everything very clean and guests appropriately spread apart. We will definitely be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our food and surroundings.
Great Place. Great People
Vinny Vanucci's is a classic authentic Italian restaurant that you should not miss.
We always enjoy this place. We were so happy to get back to eating in a restaurant again! Thanks for making our inaugural restaurant outing superb!
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had - extremely long wait for food - when delivered food was not cooked properly - it was a seafood pasta and shrimp was not properly cooked - after complaining the manager refused to cook properly and compliment the meal - unforgivable in the restaurant business. I will be filing a complaint with the Health Department.
I recommend you remove them from the Open Table list of restaurants otherwise you are complicit in supporting bad restaurants.
We enjoyed our dinner at Vinny's. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive. Our food was good. We both had pasta and enjoyed our meals. I had Alfredo sauce which I found to be thicker than I like.
We had a reservation for 7:30 for 5 people. The restaurant was about half full when we got there. We were seated at the worst table in the place even though there were plenty of better options. The table was round and meant for 4 and was placed right in the highest traffic pattern for the place and far too close to other tables. It was HORRIBLE! I had to ask to be moved which they did.
The food was mediocre at best. My dish was the Ragu and was supposed to have sausage in it. There was not one piece of sausage in it. My wife's dish was incredibly spicy even though it was not mentioned on the menu nor did the waitress indicate it would be. It was as if someone shook hot pepper flakes for 3 minutes over the top of it.
We will NEVER come back to this place
We go there often and it is always delicious. Love it.
Menu was great. Lots of choices. We picked a simple spaghetti meatballs for my 2 kids to share. Surprised we were charged $7 extra plate fee for children even though I could have picked 2 kids meal VS one adult meal. One of those fine prints.
Otherwise the salad was good. It was a busy night and it was a bit hard to get our server attention at times.
Wife ordered Chicken Parmigiano, asked if she could get it without the chicken being breaded, they charged $ 4.00 extra for this $23.95 vs. $ 19.95. It cost $ 4.00 more for an "unbreaded" piece of chicken...are you serious? also I ordered Auntie G' Sausage Ragu...menu on-line shows a price of $ 18.95, was charged $ 19.95.. $ 1.00 more. Now that $ 5.00 difference isn't a big deal, it's the principal. I've never had food that wasn't delicious or less than outstanding service at Vinny's. Next time we'll order a Grilled Chicken Sandwich @ $10.95 and a "Kids Menu" order of Spaghetti @ $ 9.95...we'll combine the two and our price would be $ 20.90, $3.05 cheaper than getting the Chicken Parmigiano @ $ 23.95. We'll still go to Vinny's, just disappointed in the upcharge. Waitress was very good. Food delicious.
The veal was hard as hockey pucks; pasta either over- or under-cooked.
Great food and service! I had Baked Seafood Italiano and it was delicious.
Such GOOD authentic Italian food. Great service , ambiance . Very children friendly . Staff was so kind.
Server let us sit there for about 20 minutes before coming over. She had a hard time with refills.
My birthday celebration at Vinny Vanucchi's 'Little Italy' was outstanding. Thanks to Hayley for great service and to Sunny as the fantastic manager taking care of us! We were seated at The General's Table by our request and that made for a special evening.
The food and service was great. It’s quiet enough to have conversations without having to shout. We had a party of 8 and the table was square so we had lots of room and were able to all participate in conversations. Definitely a favorite place to go!
Great food, more then you can eat, and restaurant is in a old building which gives it character and charm. Would recommend it highly if you are in Dubuque.
Experience was great and food was terrific, but the parking really needs to be addressed. Our server was excellent and so polite and knowledge of menu was great.
Food was very good. There was a band playing in the basement which was very loud!!. Couldn't hear the music on main floor. I'll ask if there will be entertainment the next time we stop so we don't have to deal with the loud music!!
It was our first time there and we enjoyed it very much. The wine list had a nice selection.
Always very good!
Food was delicious but overpriced, service was slow and waiter forgot about us several times and should have been embarrassed by his lack of attention to us.
Always a good consistent meal. Love the spaghetti with the spicy sausage and the salad and garlic bread are always delicious. Would like to see a better wine list.
Food was good but I we got charged $8 for a split plate fee. I think our waiter jammed us
We had an amazing dinner at Vinny Vanucchi's on Friday evening. There were 6 of us in our party, and we had a 5:15 reservation. We were seated promptly, and our waitress (Adrianna - I'm sorry if I misspelled her name!) brought us water right away and took our drink order. We weren't ready to order when she returned with our drinks so she gave us just the right amount of time to decide and then returned. Her service was excellent, she was attentive and very nice and everything was just perfect. The food was outstanding. We all had different dishes, and everyone loved theirs. We absolutely loved the garlic bread - I have never had such delicious garlic bread. This was our first visit but we will definitely be back!
Our server was outstanding, made excellent recommendations and overall made sure our experience was great. I unfortunately do not remember his name but we did have a reservation for 4:30 on Saturday 11/16. Overall will definitely be back
the service was okay, nothing special. my meal was good, nothing special; stuffed peppers (my homemade is better), but I ate it all. my wife was disappointed in hers; she got a seafood baked pasta. my brother got spaghetti and meatballs, and also ate it all, although did not inform me what he thought of it, and my sister-in-law got a gluten free chicken parmesena that she took most of home (it was big).
I just love this restaurant. Although the service was slow due to a large crowd, the food and atmosphere was great. This is my favorite place to eat every time I visit Dubuque.
The calamari was excellent and loved the salad and bread. The seafood fettucine had a bit to be desired. Noodles seemed a bit mushy. The shrimp and scallops were good that were it it, but the crab meat made the dish seem grainy. My husbands dish was okay, the peppers were giant, he thought they could be cut up a bit smaller.
